I bought my V-Clic brand new in September 2012, I was new to the world of motoring having just got a CBT. Basically the only advice I had been given by other motorcyclists was do not buy a Chinese scooter and especially do not buy a direct bike (scooter.co.uk etc), so when I saw an affordably priced Peugeot moped on offer at just £250 more than a Chinese one (£1000) I jumped at the opportunity, thinking Peugeot was a reliable french brand. WRONG. This is a direct bikes scooter, baotian,... (read more)

It doesnt want to start by "hitting the buttom", I have to kickstart it. However if I drive around for 10 minutes and switch it off, THEN it start by hitting the buttom. Anyone knows what might be the problem here? I barely use it, if I use it more often, you think the battery "charge itself" or something? (read more)

Purchased the V clic back in August 2012 as a 16th birthday present for my son. And nothing but trouble ever since. Made the decision to purchase a brand new scooter for reliability, warranty and dealership back up but none of them exist! The first service was carried out at the local dealer who basically refused to look at the poor starting issue as the bike hadn't be purchased from them?! ( warranty is warranty surely) So then had to return it to the original dealer who sold us the... (read more)

Bought a brand new v clic back in August. First few months were completely trouble free. Had it serviced regularly at the 500 and 2000km intervals. As soon as the cold weather arrived the problems started. Failing to start on cold mornings caused me all sorts of problems getting to work. Dealer that sold it to me has had to come and recover it back to their shop now on 2 occasions because it just would not start. Have had to start using a fuel additive to get it to start when the air... (read more)

had my bike just over a year from brand new. worked for the first 12 months except for having to replace the horn which stop working after a week of having it. since it hit 2000km i have had nothing but grief of it. first the battery dies, then the fuel pipe splits then the start motor decides not to work, then it gets dirt in the carburetor. now the throttle it is acting weird. (travelling full speed, throttle on full for about five minutes the it sounds like its struggling and slow down,... (read more)

I bought a V CLIC from MSG MOTORCYCLES in Farnborough, Hampshire in 2009 and it has been a cery good scooter, I use it to go to and from the station, and it starts every morning, and evening and always gets me there on time. I put about £4 a week in petrol, and it works out to about 80 mpg, so very economical as well. If you want a good scooter at a budget price, then this one is worth a look, as it has been very reliable for me. (read more)

its a good moped when it wants to be however it does cut out when it comes to a up-hill and it goes around 15-20mph on a steep uphill.
however its quite a nippy ped on a straight, and one of the good points is, it has a flicker light thingy so you can signal to other cars, but the light can not turn off which is a good safety point :) (read more)

What a piece of rubbish!!, i bought my vclic brand new and 6 months down the line and its giving me so many problems!.
First of all it wouldnt start in the rain or when it got very cold, then the exhaust bolts came out while riding due to high vibration... The overall feel is very cheap and the brakes started to squeak 1000KM in... It now has 4000KM on it and now it will not start at all.. due to the "Tapets" being to tight apparently.. i took it to a dealership to get fixed... they claimed... (read more)

Have had mine since June and i'm very happy. It was £800 less than the Yamaha and £200 less than the piagio that buys a lot of petrol! I have read some of the neg' reviews here before I had mine but maybe they should change the dealer???? My local dealer, told me he had some problems when the scooter was first launched 2 years ago but now they are good. He says that the dealer must prepare the bike properly, not just kick the tyres and put some petrol in it like most do!! (read more)

I wrote a review on here last year when we had to put a new engine onto a v click that was under 6months old. Guess what another £200 of work needed doing when it went in for a service. This bike is false economy. We bought it brand new and have so far paid anoterh £600 just to keep it on the road!!! Surely this must be a design fault????? (read more)

Very disappointed. Bike has never started reliably and has been back to dealer many times. The dealer has sold about 20 of these bikes and he tells me that many have shown the same problem with very little support form Peugeot. He has now completely stopped selling Peugeot bikes.

The Peugeot V Clic is a very appauling bike. Reaching max speed at 30mph is ridiculously slow for when riding on A roads and getting over taken by lorries with wind rushing against you. I have had several problems which includes throttle snapped, wouldnt start, loosing power, speedo problem, and now an indicator problem. I have purchased a piaggio and they are 10 x better bikes.
V clics are awful and in my opinion a waste of money (read more)

I bought my Peugeot V-Clic second hand from my local dealer with only 600 kms on the clock. This scooter is the best value for money scooter I could find. It is now on 3000 kms and so far no problems. I don't get why people are saying it's so bad.

I agree with the comments made. My stepdaughter purchased a 2008 V clic based on looks and the Peugot name. Within a few months, the starter motor and bendix gear needed replacing. The dealer fortunately replaced these under warranty, however after many disappointing experiences startiing the bike she lost confidence in it somewhat. The exhaust became loose and had I had to fit a new nut; The seat would not properley close, and I had to fit spacing washers to make the catch mechanism... (read more)

We bought a Peugeot V-Clic for our son to get to college on in Oct 08. What a peice of junk. The bike shop had to tow it in at the begining of the year as it just stopped when it was raining. Then 6 weeks ago it cut out again at 30 mph for no apparent reason. My son had to push the bike a few miles to a convenient place. They said it was the battery. We took the battery to the shop whereup they confirmed it was 'dead' but then said they would pick the bike up as there has been loads of... (read more)

I brought the bike 4 months ago for £850. As it was a Peugeot i thought this was a reliable make, After riding out from the garage the indicators stopped working. This was sorted out after a 2 hour wait, then one day when it started to rain the bike stopped working whilst travelling at 30mph.
After calling out the RAC and then being transported back to the garage, no-one seemed to be able to pinpoint the problem.
This happened again when it rained!
