I'm sure everyone has read reviews, as the ones above. I bought a new Benelli and it has had two serious faults, the speedo cable broke and rollers wore out quickly??? My throttle cable keeps breaking??? It's too slow?? Ok all the above are true but the parts are cheap and can be replaced with better quality parts than the scooter was supplied with! Before you bite my head off I know the parts should be top quality or at least fit for purpose and I would be very annoyed if I purchased a... (read more)

My friend bought a slower scooter than me I spent more money for my scooter and in parts too and the scooter is way too slow compared to my friends knock off scooter. Only exceeds the rev limit going down hill. I never changed the Cdi but everything else was upgraded from a professional. Can't wait to sell this scooter even if I only get half of what I put into this crazy thing. The scooter doesn't turn over now and can't wait to fix this scooter to sell ASAP. They say the 2008 is popular... (read more)

This is the worst bike you can buy, I bought it brand new and in the three months I have had it, it has broken down 9 times, the power is awful and it has awful uphill pulling power, the fuel cap is in the wrong place, by your feet, meaning the o-ring on the cap lets in water meaning it will break down within a few days of getting water in, dont get the bike spend a little bit more and get something better! My 49x didn't even get me home! Riding it home from the dealer it pulled back a couple of times then lost power altogether, and I was running it in the throttle was never more than 50% open. I had to park up and contact the dealer, then I had a long hill to negotiate and fortunately the Bin had enough power to pull itself up the hill with me walking alongside. It is such a good looking scooter that kids coming out of the local school admired it in its sad state when my Gamax going at full... (read more)

well about 5 or 6 months ago i decieded to buy the benelli 49x quattro nova from new and what a mistake my speedo cable has broke twicw and my throttle cable has now just broke for the 6th time and benelli have promisied me a new bike if this happens again also a nother thing that has annoyed me is that i was told time after time that this bike can do 60mph plus and what a lie my bike only goes 45 and that is pushing it.

Except: I suspect the speedometer cable design is flawed. The cable is NOT LONG ENOUGH, which causes a pinch or crimp just above the wheel transmission. My speedometer cable broke getting it home. Pretty pathetic. Other than this--so far--the scooter is solid and fast. If I replace the cable, my bet is the second cable will do the same. (read more)

The Benelli 49x is a nice bike, very stylish and easy to ride. ive had mine for a month now and its needed a new spark plug three times already and i broke down a week after having it. It does 40 -45 mph de restricted and the acceleration is good. It is important to have a warranty because mine has had a few faults already and ive only done 700 km. they are worth buying because it might only be mine that has had so many faults. The two compartments at the front of the bike are handy to store... (read more)

I have had my Benelli for 6 months and it has gone wrong twice one problem being quite major. The first was that my Speedo cable broke within the first 30km!! The second happened today, the rollers inside the engine casing have worn away, and the bike has only done 2300km!!!!
I brought this moped so that I didnt have to worry about reliability and it has dissapointed me. It may just be mine that is going wrong but it has put me off buying anything else from Benelli.
Apart from all of the...

right .. the 49x is a very nice looking bike and is quite fast compared to other scooters on the market but i have a few issues i would like to adress to anyone buying one of these ... warranty is unbelivably important as nearly all components will have some fault. from brand new they will do 1500 - 2000 km before any trouble. first things to funny are headlights and rear lights bulbs and earths also speedo cables will snap very easily . after roughly 3000 km the carb will mis fuel or miss... This made me smile....I've just done 2,000 miles and am having to change the carb....just out of warranty, but dealer is trying to argue that after just 2k miles, there shouldn't have been a problem... digital clock stuck at 7.23 for the past 12 months...apart from that, it's been really lovely. I'm not expecting it to end here though..

The Benelli X50 here in the US comes in two versions. Mine. Fat 10" Dual sport tired and an available 12" road tread. Both has the same suspension that Faster than most 50cc scooters I've ridden but being a 2stroke it losses out a bit in the mpg department.75 mpg US.
It does soak up bumps well. Gauges are clear and easy to read. Filling the tank is a breeze with it's enormous fill hole. The seat is not too 2up friendly but it's not really a 2up machine as isn't any 50cc bike. Ok for a short...
