    Good Points: Image quality in normal light generally very good.
    A good range of manual functions few of which I have used.


    Bad Points: Long delay between depressing the shutter button and the picture being taken means it is not suitable for action shots.
    Very poor flash capability.


    General comments: The Nikon Coolpix 5000 is an old camera that can take some good pictures. The most irritating feature is the shutter delay. The moveable LCD is an excellent feature.

    Although you have given the Nikon Coolpix 5000 a great review I think the public should know that the service at Nikon is very Mediocre at the least. My camera came out of warranty service with the same problem it was sent in for and now has been back in service for a month and I still do not have my camera back.

    With the advent of the Nikon Coolpix 5000 digital camera, I thought it would be the perfect upgrade camera for me. I am a fan of photography and shoot hundreds of pictures, mainly outdoor shots and pictures of my grandchildren. The camera performs quite well using outdoor lighting BUT the flash makes taking indoor photos impossible. I was and am so very disappointed. I was expecting so much more, and will be either returning this camera or giving it away.
