“LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM JACQUIE LAWSON”

I was given notice of renewal on 4 July 2014 for a renewal date of November 2014. I took no action, given it was four months away. One week later Jacquie Lawson took the money from my card! Her company has not responded to my email and I shall dispute the payment through my card company. I have tried to find a telephone number to speak to a person - but no luck. “Advent Calendar 2013”

We have been subscribers since Jacquie Lawson answered emails herself! We accept that things change but one hopes it's for the better. Not so. The original cards are still the best in terms of sentiment, originality, humour, and charm. Many now look and sound tired, repetitious, and condescending. “This year's Advent Calendar”

I have been a JL member for over 5 years and enjoy the e-cards for the most part. The new Christmas e-cards are pretty good, but the Edwardian Advent Calendar was a huge disappointment. It appeared to me that the JL team left the AC until it was too late and that they were rushed to get it ready in time. It was dull, inconsistent and out of sequence. “Dull, Dull, Dull”

The 2013 Advent Calendar is really a let down. Some of the tasks are so twee, even one's maiden aunt would struggle to get excited. Laying a table?Dressing a figure in a paper outfit? Filling a vase of flowers? Cross Stitch? Who are these tasks supposed to be of interest to? “Invisible to customers”

No one seems to be able to contact these people. Their "robot" website responds with a form email saying they'll be back to you in 48 hours. One week later, still no response. The cards are pleasant and people I send them to enjoy them. But it's a hassle. Jacquie Lawson surely doesn't understand business. Time for some good competition. I agree- I tried for an hour to log in to renew, even though I renewed 3 months ago. Couldn't send any Christmas Cards. What greeting card business abandons their customers during the Chrismas Holidays?????

“Advent Calendar 2013”

For all of you having trouble installing the calendar, well you aren't missing a lot! I've absolutely LOVED the Advent Calendars for the last 2 years - they've been really magical and a December highlight. However, this one is a real disappointment. They've introduced various other rooms so instead of watching one picture magically coming to life, often nothing happens to the main page at all and you have to search around in other rooms to see what's going on. “Advent Calendar takes a lot to install”

I love Jacquie Lawson cards & have sent them for years. No problem. This year I decided to send a bunch of friends the advent calendar. Bad move!!! The way they were sent meant they ended up in spam for many. You need a fair amount of computer savvy to install the calendar - installing/updating several plug-ins, downloading the program & installation. “Taken money, not delivered and NO communication!”

I wish I had read the early reviews first! I have enjoyed membership with Jackie Lawson for over 2 years. So, with my elderly mother just getting to grips with a computer, I offered to pay for 2-year subscription with Jackie Lawson. Follow-Up. After sending directly to help@jackielawson.com I received a reply: It was the bog standard answer from the question and answer page - ie it told me I could sent a gift membership but I had to pay for it. My email to them had quite clearly given them all the facts - including that I HAD PAID. I have requested that they re-read my email!! I have also now told them that I am putting this on forums (and updating when I hear from them). I am also going to trawl through this and other forums to see what evidence I can get before taking this further. For info, I read on another forum that you may get an answer if you write on a forum - or email directly to: help@jackielawson.com. (but it seems on this occasion they have NOT READ what I have written). Also, if you read Jackie Lawson terms and conditions, they do have an address you can write to in Devon. I will continue to write updates until it is resolved one way or another.

Second follow up: After writing last review I wrote a rather strong email back to (name removed) at JL and asked them to re-read my email and that I had paid! They did and after investigation they informed me that I had ordered twice and against the payment order I had placed an incorrect email address. This was rectified and the card and gift were sent to the correct address: (name removed) then asked me what Forum site I was using and I advised him of this one. He implied that he would be looking at this to see if they can learn from the feedback. I know on another site he contacted some people and resolved this issue to perhaps it is worth looking to see if you have a comment back from him.

ISSUE RESOLVED: 2nd update: JL's reply to my email did not answer my issue (re: comment 1 to this initial review) so I wrote back rather strongly asking them to re-read my email. (Name removed) from JL replied within hours and apologised for the confusion. After investigation, it would appear that because I had tried to initially pay by PAYPAL (JL website had a problem with PAYPAL) and had to pay by card instead that I had ordered twice. My actual payment went against an incorrect email address. (Name removed) resolved this and sent the email and 2 year subscription gift to the correct person. I am now invited to cancel the incorrect card details in my pending box. It was a nice email from him and all is now resolved. He also asked which forum I had been writing on so that he could have a look to see if there are any other unresolved issues he has missed. Perhaps some of you may hear from him in due course.

I am so over Jacquie Lawson! Twice cards that I tried to send did not arrive the other end. The recipients checked their in-boxes and their spam file. Nothing. Trying to contact Jacquie Lawson is impossible. All you ever get is an automated email telling you to check this, this and this. When that fails, you simply cannot get hold of a human being so you have no alternative but to give up, which, presumably, is what they hope you will do. I have just paid for a "gift" subscription on this site - having enjoyed using the site myself for some years. The card is stuck in pending and invites me to "Pay Now" - BUT I HAVE ALREADY PAID AND THE MONEY HAS LEFT MY BANK! I have written 3 emails via website + 1 email directly to help @ Jackie Lawson. Like you, I am getting nowhere. If they know that they have a problem, they should resolve it. To take money intentially knowing that you cannot deliver is totally unacceptable.

I have now resolved my problem with Jackie Lawson. And in fairness it may have been something I did. Full details are on 118, my Review. It took some doing but it you send an email directly to help@jackielawson.com it does seem to get them and it does seem to help in getting a reply. I have also advised (name removed) from their company about this forum - so perhaps many of you will have your problems resolved in the future.

“Only Christian Cards!”

There are many different religions in the world, but Jacquie does not honor any of them. She won't even make minor changes to existing cards. To top that off I can find no way to contact them. The contact page leads me to a FAQ page, no place for communication from me. I'd think they'd want to reach out to other religious and non-religious people. If you want a specific religion, go to another site that provides this, don't whinge.
Jacqui Lawson site is inexpensive and has lovely cards to suit many occasions, put your own messages onto the many blank cards. Easy!

“Unfortunate Downhill Slide”

While I think the cards are lovely on the whole and the variety has greatly expanded, I am highly offended by the fact that I must enable cookies, not just on her home page, but with the behemoth Google. Reviews were interesting. Hadn't realized she'd sold out to American Greetings, or that membership was automatically renewed (we'll see about that). This used to be one of the best ecard sites ever. The graphics used to be really great, but now they are too airbrushed - not quite as meaningful as they used to be, and rather jerky in movement, which they weren't before. “Boring”

I am a web designer and a fine artist and I have received several Jacquie Lawson cards since they started on biz. Yes, they are nice to watch, like a old fashioned printed card but animated, and you can see the details they add to make it very Victorian. BUT in my opinion, they are sooo boring that I just jump to the end to read the message as soon as I get one.
