Some of Jacquie Lawson cards are very good particularly their Christmas cards but try to get a St. George's Day card and you are out of luck though they do plenty of St Patrick Day cards and all sorts of cards for American Independence and all the other events America celebrate. I was a member of JacquieLawson.com and was very happy but when the time came to renew they took payment from me in US dollars when I have a UK Bank account and my bank obviously charged me for converting the transaction from Dollars to GBP Sterling. I emailed and complained got the money refunded but in Dollars so my bank charged me AGAIN. I have paid for two gift memberships to be sent with a card, neither have been received. I have sent two emails to the Jacquie Lawson Help center and the only reply I have received is telling me to look on the 'help' page! I signed onto Jacquie Lawson Last Xmas. Things were going fine for me. However several cards were not being picked up because people could not download them. Then a friend told me that the site caused so much havoc to his computer that it took him 2 hours to get rid of it. Since then I have had nothing but problems myself. I've been a subscriber for about 5 years. I haven't found any other site than comes close to matching Jacquie Lawson for sophistication of animation and beauty. The site is easy to use, delivery can be delayed, addresses are easy to import, and you can review your history. New designs come out regularly. The cost is more than reasonable, especially when quality is taken into account. (read more)

Out of curiosity I decided to read the Jacquie Lawson reviews and was shocked to read all the negative comments. I have been using this site for four years and have never had any problems at all. I just signed up to this site and I have a mess on my computer! I have not even used this card company YET, they will not respond to customer service or to any unsubscribe site! All they did was take my money and now I have a computer that will not respond to anyting. It is a sham and a shame as I did recieve a nice card from a friend. I cancelled my service at the end of 2011. On December 26 a renewal membership fee was charged to my credit card THAT I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. There is no way to contact Lawson's customer service which is probably off shore anyway but I ought to charge them for my time in attempting to resolve this issue with my credit card company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GREETING CARD SERVICE FOR ALL THE TEA IN CHINA. (read more)

My visa card indicated I had paid. Their website indicated membership cancelled as not paid. 83mails to them and no reply except for automated that they would reply in 48 hours or less. They never have replied. Jacquie Lawson take your money but then leave you without any ability to communicate with them (read more)

No customer service to speak of. Reply cards sent to me are blank. I contacted them and a week later, they sent me instructions on how to clear my cache. Reply cards are sent in my email, not on their website. To add insult to injury, they charged an automatic membership renewal to my credit card last week. I just got off the phone with my credit card company and had the charge removed because it was unauthorized. jacquielawson is a big FAIL. Final grade F- (read more)

A few years ago I made a purchase of advent calendars and sent them to the grandchildren. No one got them although I was charged. Every year since then I get charged $12.00 on my credit card. THIS MORE OF A COMPLAINT THAN A REVIEW. After many years of successful use, suddenly, 3 weeks ago, although my subscription was up to date and renewed for a further 2 years early, I have been unable to send any ecards nor contact them because there is no 'SEND' or 'SUBMIT' on the relevant pages! No action before the first of December? It IS an ADVENT calendar, could that be an explanation? You have the globe and the(animated) puzzle to show that it is installed, and in my experience, children are delighted to play the puzzle game. Waiting for December is part of the fun. I have been sending these e cards for a few years with no trouble, then all of a sudden the password does not work. Of course they won't allow me another one as they say the email address is in use. If I use Safari to try to get onto the site, it won't accept password and we around and 'round. There are zero problems when using Firefox on the same computer. People who receive these cards seem to enjoy them very much and find the sweetness refreshing in a world where many cards, especially for birthdays, are downright snarky. I've been a member for years and loved sending her cards - everyone that gets them is so appreciative. With this years membership I got the advent calendar installed it no problem and had fun using it. I can't believe all the bad comments. My only complaint is I can't find an email to send her my appreciation. I have to agree with this review. I enjoy so much just looking at all the cards and deciding on the most appropriate one. Personally I feel there is a good amount of cards and each one is different. I have just joined and have had no contact with anyone on her staff, but I haven't had any problems. To me, this a great idea, with very creative, talented, artistic people. I hope I don't run into a problem or trouble when and if I decide to stop my membership -- I don't like the idea of someone using my credit card year after year. So until that time, I will enjoy all that's offered intensely !! This is a great site.

They did the same thing to me. I just purchased a membership in November 2012. Additional to my membership, I purchased five Advent Calendars which was extra money.
I was only able to send one calendar because they made it impossible to access my addresses.
When I tried to send Christmas cards, they send me a message saying I needed to renew my membership because it had expired in September.
They have no customer service number, and they do not answer my emails.
I have definitely been ripped off. Is it possible they don't know how to run their business? The website has a lot of problems.
The artistic beauty of the cards is what attracts me, but if I can't even send them, what good is this?

Well I was quite shocked to see so many negative reviews about downloading on here. I'm a self confessed blonde who works in finance, not computers but I didn't have any installation problems at all. It all seemed pretty straight forward... I use Mac OS X (10.6). I thought the animations this year (2012) were brilliant and I can't wait for next years to be released! Would definitely recommend to a friend. I haven't sent any cards yet but will almost certainly do so in the coming year. (read more)

Purchased advent calendar for myself and sent several to friends. Had to fiddle with it, but finally got it installed. Friends who don't work with computers had a horrid time. It wouldn't install. Same experience as other reviewers. I can download the 2012 Advent Calendar but cannot activate it. Once downloaded there are no prompts or buttons to activate. I get an error from Adobe Reader (not AdoveAir) stating ..."jacquielawsonadventcalendar.air was attached to a email that was not properly decoded". I had installed and was using my Advent Calendar on my desktop computer. I switched to a wireless desktop computer midway through the Advent Calendar. When I try to bring up the document to continue, I get the message "AIR" not compatible. How can I convert the AIR document to one that my computer will recognize. Not at all happy, first order for 25 Advent Calendars (special price) then added a further 2 to order (charged at full price) a bit mean??? A friend ordered two calendars for me, one for my daughter and her children in New Zealand and one for me so that I could follow it and would be able to talk to my young grandchildren about it on Skype. Such a disappointment as my daughter is unable to download the advent calendar. Her husband has been unable to download it either and he is totally IT savvy so I guess there is a problem. I have love the Jacquie Lawson Advent Calendars for the last few years and have sent many to friends. This year I find it will not work correctly, hangs up, does not perform interactive tasks. I have tried contacting the "Help Desk" which, as others have said, is NO HELP. Perhaps they've grown too quickly or gotten complacent but I doubt I will be ordering another calendar. I was sent an advent calendar as a gift. So I downloaded it, open it up, and boom my computer got a trojan horse virus. Everything has crashed on my computer, including the printer, the volume, the voice recognition, and the whole operating system now runs SLOW. I have been sent an advent calendar but it is impossible to load it. The help desk was no help. I have done everything they have suggested - turned off the firewall (reluctantly), downloaded Air, kept the browser open - and all I get is an error message. I would like to make a suggestion for next year in regards to December. In additional to the lovely Advent Calendar, perhaps a very simplified December calendar as well, with each day adorned with animated chararacter or symbol and can be viewed when needed during the month of December. I have been a member for over 5 years, and have sent dozens of cards. My friends and family have never had an problem with the cards, and security has never been an issue. I don't understand the comments about certain "tactics" as I have never encountered this. Over three weeks ago I have paid one year subscription via PayPal . I am still unable to send any cards. Every time i try, a message comes up saying that i must become a full member. There is no way i can contact Jacquie Lawson. Having to rely just on their help line, does not help the situation. I have sent numerous messages asking jacquielawson.com to check their records to see that I am a full member. No response. It is extremely frustrating. I love Jacquie Lawson cards & have sent them for years. No problem. This year I decided to send a bunch of friends the advent calendar. Bad move!!! The way they were sent meant they ended up in spam for many. You need a fair amount of computer savvy to install the calendar - installing/updating several plug-ins, downloading the program & installation. I have been using Jacquie Lawson cards for over 3 years. For the past three years I have been complaining that their subscription rate for Australians is $14.75 whereas the actual exchange rate is $11.10. The American subscription rate is $12.00 whereas the actual exchange rate is $11.53. They say they only adjust the rate once or twice a year. They have not adjusted the rate for 3 years. I made 2 seperate payments and they never did show they got them but Pay Pal did so had to make a dispute because Jacquie Lawson site cannceled me and never refunded my money. I never had any trouble making payments until I started using Pay Pal. I have gone round and round trying to get some kind of communication with this site. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so angry. Same here. I have in the past bought the advent calender but this year it wouldn't download. I emailed well before the start of advent but to date I have yet to receive a reply. Also today I tried to get my card history - very useful if you send a lot of cards cos you don't want to send a card to someone more than once. But no history was there. It has been there but today no sign that I had ever sent a card. Nuisance. Also today I wanted to send a card to my friends facebook page. Went to all the bother of selecting a card, writing the greeting. Then went to the part 'choose a friend' and the link is not working. It is a nuisance. I have emailed but I don't anticipate getting a reply.
