Originally I bought a halogen oven from JML and I constantly had to take off the splatter guard to get to the fan as it kept coming loose. This kept happening until the thread became worn and the nut that secured the fan would not hold the fan in place. I have heard several people complaining about the same problem. I have now switched to an Andrew James halogen oven and it is pure quality, in my opinion the best on the market. (read more)

I bought a JML halogen oven about 8 months ago. My breakfast is a bacon sandwich with one slice of bacon. Obviously the rack at the bottom needs cleaning, and because of that the chrome coating has come off revealing copper and even some blackness on a couple of areas. Result is that there are black stripes across the bacon. I'm sure it's harmless, but it doesn't look nice. I emailed JML saying that I would like to buy two more of these racks: I possibly hadn't cleaned it carefully enough... (read more)

I am hugely disappointed with this appliance and would not recommend it, especially after it exploded a few days ago, which was very frightening. I only brought it in May and used it once or twice a week, for cooking a chop or sausages. It had only been switched on for a minute before the bulb inside exploded, first it made a screaming noise, then there was a huge bang and flash, then flames, thank goodness the thing is sealed by the lid being in place, so it extinguished the flames. My... (read more)

worked well at first but when it began to go wrong - first extremely noisy, then not cooking properly, I thought I'd like to tell the makers so that they were aware of the problems. Would JML tell me who they were ? No way - it's a secret !! It was just out of guarantee so JML did not want to know either. I now have an expensive piece of junk on my kitchen top. No-one I talk to is able or willing to mend it. I just hate the idea of it going to landfill but I cannot find another use for it... (read more)

I said I recommend the oven but with reservations. The oven itself is brilliant but the lamp often blows and difficult to replace. I said difficult but not impossible although JML make the item in such a way that they say only a qualified electrician should do the job. However it can be done by a serious diy man. Remove the metal housing holding the fan blades. The main problem is removing the fan blades as the nut and centre spindle go around together and it is not possible to hold the... (read more)

bought one as a package from JML the skewers sent with it were of extremely poor quality posing a serious contamination risk both by cuttting hand and risk of steel shards being left in food. JML have been slow to respond to my concerns, and have just sent another set without commenting on the hazards posed by such a serious defect. Their customer care is generic it would appear. The young girl I spoke to on the phone was talking to me as if I was a 4 year old, and could not understand... (read more)

The JML oven cooks perfectly well when its working....bulb expires in anything from 1 month to 1 year. I have had 4 now: first one 3 years ago - just out of warranty bulb went - could not get it repaired so disposed of the oven. Bought 2 with 2 years extended warranty (£10 extra for 1). 2 years and 2 weeks later both bulbs gone. Thinking the warranty was still valid sent the lids from 2 ovens - to save sending complete ovens with even more postage - in 1 box recorded delivery (£14.50)... (read more)

...Spare parts or the product is manufactured in such a way as to make it impossible to replace and install a part which I believe to be a deliberate act on behalf of JML in the hope that those who don't grow wise to their antics end up buying or should i say replacing the same product in this case the JML HALOGEN OVEN over and over again, in some instances as little as 6 months of continuous use, or just after the warranty ends that being a year. I have just had this over the past 18 months and was very disappointed to realise that it has a very short lifespan - and as a result of that it is not good value for money. My boyfriend is on his third one after the same period so they are not realiable - luck of the draw really I would say. I repair electrical equipment including JML halogen ovens, the problem is getting spare parts, JML don't manufacture any thing and only badge them, they have no interest in suppling parts for any of their products. I have even tried to contact the manufacturers in China who do not want to know unless you place an oeder for 10,000 units!! I would recomend not to buy anything from JML as they are only interested in selling a product with no after service!! (read more)

Like many others, I bought a JML Halogen Oven and just after the guarantee ran out, the oven fan unit gave up. The halogen bulb would still function, but with no air movement, the bulb would switch on and off within seconds. It went to the tip, and until the Halogen Oven durability is sorted out, I won't be buying another one. While it worked, I liked it, but forking out £50 ish for something that lasts just over the year doesn't make good sense. (read more)

I bought my jml halogen oven in june 2010 and was very happy with it until march this year when the fan stopped working. I contacted jml and they had the oven picked up and sent me a new one. So far so good, until the other day the replacement oven stopped working. I received my jml oven as a present. I used it for Sunday lunches most weeks and thought that it was brilliant. I was really disappointed when 13 months later the thermostat broke. We cannot find a replacementand we were shocked at the poor quality of the parts used. At a time when we recycle and reuse to save this planet, it makes no sense to have to buy new and not able to make a cheaply priced repair. This would be the true recycling. (read more)

Bought a JML Halogen Oven just over a year ago and was absolutely delighted with the performance and the results. Perfectly suited for cooking for two people, extensions are now available if more volume is needed. Great to be able to see the food inside without having to open the lid. Everything cooks well - pastries, casseroles, roast, fish. Relatively easy to clean. So, the idea behind a halogen oven is great. BUT! The electrical design of the JML halogen oven totally spoiled my initial... (read more)

Emailed Sensio at the weekend, who were most helpful. Ask for a refund or exchange at Argos. Decided not to, as the numbers will obviously wipe off again - can't face constant car journeys to Argos for replacements. Two or three weeks later the time control knob broke. Emailed them again. I bought one of these thinking it would make my life easier. How wrong was I. Firstly, it takes up space on the work surface and gets in the way when not being used, so definately don't buy if you have a small kitchen. Secondly, cleaning it is a real pain as my sink just isn't big enough to fit the bowl in. Thirdly, it really isn't big enough to cook a proper meal for more than a couple people, and unlike a real oven you have to cook everything together. So no good for doing... (read more)

When new its a great item to have in the kitchen. Infortuneately like all good things, the JML Halogen Cooker doesnt last! If the lamp element blows its virtually impossible to strip down and rebuild the cooker, a neat trick of rusty metal prevents the fanblades being removeed from the motor shaft which in turn prevents the motor housing being dismantled, which means you cannot change the lamp anyway! I sent the first jml halogeb oven back because it had a chip in the glass. You need to think about where you are going to put the lid. I love the JLM Halogen Oven, it's easy to use, can see what is happening inside. Makes great light fluffy cakes, perfectly crispy roast potatoes. But, and a big but, where do you place the lid safely whilst your checking the 'bounce' on cakes, for instance. Because the heat source is in the lid. Not child friendly, as the heat source is inside the underside of the lid there is nowhere to store it safely whilst you are getting things in and out of the oven. the 'tongs' are cumbersome and...
