I've used Ebay for many years (since 2002 in fact). It's still great, but I must say it's harder to get those amazing 'finds' for 50% under market value than it used to be. I think this is partly because when you search for something with a spelling mistake, it'll auto-correct the results. i once bought a "Fnder strtocaster" for a few hundred pounds just because someone spelt the title wrong and hardly anyone saw the listing! in general i like ebay, more for it general concept than the actual platform, been buying there books and products. in my years using ebay, i hardly had any issues. the slight issues were resolved between the sellers and me. what i really don't like is how difficult it is to contact sellers or other users. Its annoying and misses the point of creating a real community. could be a whole lot better. (read more)

I have been doing business on eBay for many years. The longer time, the worse my business goes. I can't survive. So I asked myself, 'do I need to do business on eBay again?' My heart told me 'no, never.' The biggest problem is the payment from PayPal. My account has been frozen for over 5 months. In June I purchased an old violin from the seller. His ID number is libertyandvictoriauk. Item number is #2308055694770. When the item was sent to me, it was lost. And the item was returned to the seller at last. I didn't receive it from tracking info. I opened a case. For a month, the case was closed without any reason and eBay stood on seller's position. I just had the exact same experience a week ago. Paid for an item never received the tracking info, never received the item, I opened a case which was decided by ebay in the seller's favor and I didn't receive a refund. Ebay said they didn't give me a refund because I received the item, how could I have received the item as when I contacted the seller the item was was shipped back to him??? Luckily the item was just $34.50. This is very poor of ebay I am very disappointed as I am a regular customer doing regular business with ebay.

I had bad experience as a seller with Ebay also.. they're always protecting a buyer, even when there is buyer's fault. Ebay used to be a fun site to buy and sell on, but it is no longer. They have now become too huge and arrogant and have completely ruined the site. I will shortly stop trading on Ebay altogether. Hopefully some competitor will come along and replace Ebay altogether one day. (read more)

I am sick of ebay. Every time I try to search for something they are throwing up sponsored results and ads. I can't open stuff in a new window because of the java script. And if I do make the mistake of looking at items ebay assumes that I want to keep getting emails about those products and signs me up for newsletters and email reminders about similar products. I look at one item and I get 10 emails about it. I try to set the search to only look for items in the USA and it will do one... (read more)

Recently I purchase an item, valued $500, but for 2 months, I have not received it. I opened a case, and one month later, the case was closed without any reason, and the seller didn't refund me with the item returned to him. So the seller got the item back, but didn't return my money. However, eBay stood on the seller's side.

Ebay is broken. Way too many listings to find what you are looking for. Sellers seem angry because eBay treats them unfairly. Ebay used to be a fun place to shop, but they have wrecked it with all their rules, and the site is just filled with listing for the same item. I've looked for things and gotten hundreds, sometimes thousands of listings. I don't have time to sort through it all. Amazon is a lot better place to shop and Amazon values its customers. Why did you go back to them after that first fiasco? YOu should have left them and went over to amazon! I have NEVER had any problems with them but multiple problems with EBAY. They suck!

It appears eBay has lost its luster!
Feedback left for eBay from buyers & sellers is 16.1% along with a very low DSR score as shown on that new Rate eBay site:

Figured eBay would have at least a 25% positive rating not 16.1%
After reading about 300 posts, it seems that most buyers and sellers have the same issues. You would think eBay would listen to its users and strive for improvements.

eBay USA is the best online auction site on the web today. Items that would take me a lifetime to find locally can be accessed with a few clicks. (Almost) everything and anything can be found on eBay. I don't know what I would do without it.
That said, I have noticed prices climbing in the past five years, but that is the free enterprise system at work.

Back in the early days Ebay was the place to find bargains; not any more. I find the common popular items (espec. electronics) save you only a few bucks under retail, most likely due to the influx of new buyers/bidders.
I do have better luck selling, but I don't like how easily Ebay gives up your personal information to buyers (yes they can ask Ebay for it, and they quickly turn it over to requester).

After being a successful seller on Ebay for 12 years, I now find that I can't recommend them for selling or buying.
For a seller, it is expensive and their policies, which change at a whim, make it hard to conduct business.
As a buyer, I find the search very complicated, and usually just give up and look elsewhere.

Ebay Sucks and this will be my last month on their site. 98% of my shopping is done on Amazon! A++++++++++++++++++to Amazon--way better than money grubbing Ebay. My advice to you is to hire and attorney and NEVER EVER do business with them again. Tell everybody you meet about your experience so they can tell everybody and hopefully "word of mouth" will shut them down or cause their stock to depreciate and take a large chunk of money from their grubbing hands! I tell everyone I meet "Not to use EBay but use Amazon instead"
