Amazing service! Like others I was apprehensive about spending a lot on something I hadn't seen, from someone I hadn't met. I rang at lunchtime on Tuesday to ask if a pair of diamond studs could be delivered by Thursday. The lady I spoke to was excellent. I purchased a diamond engagement ring, but was very unhappy with the quality of the platinum ring as it was slightly scratched and there was no visible hallmark (which is a legal requirement). I queried this with the Diamond Store and a representative from the company stated that the hallmark was “probably very faint due to polishing” – which was simply not acceptable. I am sorry to hear how you feel, especially after Debbie and Michelle spent such a long time with you trying to help solve the mystery of the missing certificate.
All our jewellery is hallmarked in accordance with UK law, sometimes the mark can be very faint but as long as it is there everything is ok. If customers are ever worried it is quite a simple process for us to re-hallmark a ring...something I know you were offered.
The missing certificate was a problem..and although you did supply us with a copy we have to be 100% certain that the diamond itself is the one that matches the certificate...with this in mind we actually went one step further and had the diamond re-appraised by the IGI and were given a brand new certificate....we didn’t feel that a copy was good enough when our intention is to sell the diamond to someone else.
We have a very strict, regulated process for dealing with items that are returned and in 6 years no item has ever come back without a diamond certificate, other paperwork yes, but not the all important certificate.
I am genuinely sorry you feel the way you do especially as we refunded you...many other companies would have simply refused and moved on...

This review is what to really expect!! I order my ring on 18th August for an anniversary engagement on 16th September. It was a beautiful ring and was also reduced in price by £1000. Plenty of time i thought as all the reviews state very quick service and the website states 7-10 days. Got email on Mondy confirming the item would take 7-10 days. Great i thought! We have spoken to you and emailed you constantly to explain the situation....and yes I admit you have wiated one week longer than advised but your ring is being handmade to order (not stock or supplier) and sometimes delays do occur....we can't send out rings we are unhappy with...
We know that you were frustrated with the wait and the delays and have of course always offered you a full refund at anytime during the past 7 weeks.

We of course know how you felt and once again apologies that the ring wasn't as hoped for.
We offer a 30 day refund process because as with anything...until you try something on you're not too sure if it will be perfect!
The ring is a great ring...the band of the ring is only 3mm wide so the baguette diamonds were always going to be small.
Anyway, as I said sorry that the ring wasn't what you hoped for and that you decided not to take us up on our offer of sending you a ring we felt would be more suitable given your comments about this one.

I agree with this review. I am also currently having trouble with this company and am currently having to send my ring back for a SECOND time. I agree that their promise that all rings are made to order is obviously a stretch!!

I took the ring to an independent jeweller who told me the ring was poorly constructed. My advice would be to avoid online jewellers and purchase from a proper high street shop. Absolutely brilliant service from the diamond store.
I bought an engagement ring from them and my fianc e was absolutely over the moon with it. She receives compliments on it daily!
She had to have the ring resized so I sent it back to them and they processed the repair very quickly and for just £15! Much cheaper than other jewelers.
Will definitely be using them again when it comes to the wedding! And would recommended them to others!

Despite them advertising the ring as available for immediate despatch when i ordered it i received a standard email over 48 hours later explaining that they make so many items they can't keep everything in stock! the ring arrived after about 2 weeks. However, it is not hallmarked and so I am now in the process of enquiring as to why, when they make a big thing online of how everything is uk hallmarked etc..., my ring is not.... (read more)

Without leaving your order number here it is difficult for me to comment but all our rings are hallmarked as per UK law.

<br/>Hallmarks can sometimes become very faint during polishing, they are also normally placed in out of view places. A combination of this maybe why you can't see it.
<br/>
<br/>The easiest thing (but not the most convenient I know!)is to get the ring back to us. If the hallmark has become very, very faint during polishing we will get it re hallmarked for you.

I was very impressed with this company as they went out their way to email me on the production of my ring so I knew exactly what was happening and when it would be ready. The price was excellent as I had done my research and I do know a few jewellers in person but The Diamond Store came out on top. I have to say I gave them a bit of a challenge as I asked for a ring in about 4 days. They didn't have the item in stock so had to make it and managed to do so in 3 days so ahead of schedule. The quality of the service was excellent as was the ring - the quality of the ring is excellent and, incidentally, comes nicely packaged.
All in all, a very easy service to use and put aside any fears I had over buying something of this nature over the internet.

Rang for help at first re sizing and used one of their free ring sizers. Placed order, emailed back straight away. The making of the ring was to take a week, emailed saying the ring had been despatched on a next day special delivery.

Thank you for your feedback, we are of course sorry to hear the way you feel regarding your ring and The Diamond Store.
Unfortunately the ring had been badly damaged to the point it was beyond repair, damage is not covered by our manufacturing guarantee.
If we could of offered a repair we of course would. However the only option to present to you was to offer to make you a new ring at a reduced price as a goodwill gesture. We felt t this was fair given that the ring had been worked on by a third party that we have no merit over and returned in a very damaged state.
