I'm pretty happy with my Cookie. I use it mostly for texts and I like that I can chose between a keypad, a querty keyboard and a handwriting screen. The music sound quality is fine when used with decent headphones, although you have to use an adaptor which isn't a very secure fit. Internet is a bit slow and frustating but okay for checking your Facebook or webmail. There are plenty of aftermarket accessories for the phone, especially attractive cases. The main drawback for me is the battery... (read more)

Got my LG COOKIE KP500 phone in April 2010 as a long awaited birthday gift. Was initally very pleased with the phone but then problems arose like: kept switching on/off when it wasn't supposed to, problems with the phone freezing when texting, etc. HOWEVER the biggest setback was 7 months after having the phone:went to switch my phone on in the morning to find that a crack had formed on the inner screen! The phone was kept on an empty shelf in its "sock" overnight and there was no damage to... (read more)

I brought this phone as a birthday present in July on a contract of 10 pounds a month including 500 texts and 100 minutes i was excited at this bargin contract but things turned sour very quickly! This phone was the worst phone i have owned in my whole life! The quality of the phone was shockingly bad, the battery life lasted at most 6 hours when it had being on charge from 3pm till 7am the following morning. The Lg reception was terrible and on most days i could only get emergency calls from... + relatively cheap
+ nice touch screen (but it usually does not auto-rotate to landscape/portrait)
- frequently freezes & switches off (I missed several appointments before realizing I cant trust it)
- slow; very poor multitasking
- has 1 socket for charging, data transfer and headphones (cant use standard headphones, have to buy from LG) it's the worst socket I've ever seen: it's too small & too delicate, VERY quickly gets loose, all other owners I know ,except one, have same problem, it...

I had my LG since about 4th March 2010.
It is a really simple phone and it is easy to use!
The Internet is slow, but i won't complain because some phones don't have Internet.
If you want to transfer some music etc from your computer to your phone it is fast and easy.
In my opinion LG cookie is a great phone :)
If any of you are thinking about buying it, go ahead and buy it, it's a great phone! :) <3

This is one of the best designed phones that i have ever owned. As in it does what it needs to do perfectly to sell, then as soon as you can no longer return it because you don't like it, it starts doing little things just to bug you.
Once you get used to it the text features become too slow, meaning it cant keep up with your typing, so it will loose half a word from time to time, and will delete half the word if you pause while typing for only a second. I am now needing to get a knew...

The LG Cookie KP500 is a thin easy to use mobile phone, with a stylish screen ready for any situation.
Although the Cookie looks fine, I didn't like the battery life. It ran out easily and wasn't all that good. Also the messaging - typing was extremely slow and the predictive text sometimes wasn't always right. I did like however the easy user face, it had a simple menu which made it clear as to where the different applications we're.
When I bought the LG I was overly satisfied, however...

Firstly.. Do not buy this phone!! lol
It constantly unlocks itself in my pocket causing countless costly phone calls
It has so much trouble trying to connect to my laptop to transfer files
Software is rubbish to be honest, it requires you to quit certain applications before starting camera
and lastly i do alot of texting and its not suitable as texting software is very poor

First thing, the battery is useless, i have a lithium battery on my drill and that last ages the battery on this is cr@p. Another thing is that the phone keeps ringing people without telling it to? My friend has the same problem with his LG cookie. My view is dont waste your money on this phone, buy an i-phone instead they are loads better, it is what i have done. (read more)

It looks cute, and stylish, but really there's not much to it. Although I always have signal, even high in the Scottish Mountains, it's not a very good phone. Mine has broken, after owning it for only about 2 months, for it fell out of my pocket and the whole screen packed in, trouble is, it was a very small heigh, me being 5ft 4. And landed on carpet. I was very annoyed and would definatly make sure people avoid this phone, LG. Life's Good, not for the cookie. The battery life was okay, but... (read more)

I've never disliked any of my previous 7 phones, they have all been reliable, worth the money and with useful features.
I wouldn't say any of these things about the LG Cookie. I've had to send it back twice as the screen kept freezing, slowing down and then switching off, only to turn itself back on an hour or so later.
As many people have mentioned the battery life really is pathetic, far worse than any phone I've ever had!
The touchscreeen system is also very basic, there is a delay...

Network reception capacity is horrible.I can not use the phone now as because in my locality network coverage is less for a while.Every calls are being dropped whether it is outgoing or incoming.I am not also audible to other end.Whereas every other all Nokia phones(tried with 4 models) are working correctly with that network.

First Cookie;
1.Screen does not rotate when texting.
2.Phone kept switching off so proved problematic as an alarm.
3.Internet is an absolute waste of time.
4.Battery life pathetic, less than three days when fully charged.
Complained to Virgin mobile who replaced it within 16 hours so that was good service(Nothing to do with LG).
Second Cookie.
Same pathetic internet coverage and ridiculously short battery life. battery.

My LG Cookie KP500 also went into 'cracked screen mode' after less than a month of use. It certainly has a design fault, namely it completly lacks any rigid internal metal frame to prevent it from bending i.e. when carrying it in your pocket. That's why the delicate screen layers get cracked from accidental twisting/bending, while the outer glass remains intact. What's even more interesting, I recently went to the store where I bought it in order to buy something less fancy, but more... (read more)

Like many others on here my LG Cookie KP500 phone has a cracked LCD screen after only 4 weeks. Kept in a case and treated carefully - not a mark on the outer screen. Orange were useless - suggesting I had damaged the phone myself.
A shame as it isn't a bad phone - but it clearly has a design problem.

I found this review very helpful because I also have had a cracked screen on my LG cookie. CPW were not interested and on discussion with LG their technical guy clearly stated that my letter of complaint had been entered into the system but there was very little chance that I would receive an answer.
Clearly there is a design fault with this phone but LG are too scared of the backlash should this come out.
Everyone needs to complain to LG on this matter.

No probs with screen yet (cracked screens being a common problem). Though menu system a bit tricky. My last phone being a Sony Ericsson was much much user friendly. Had a lot of trouble using the search a contact (Sony Ericsson system is a piece of cake). Liked the short cut feature on the SE's - LG Cookie phone takes a while longer. My son bought a LG Cookie from Orange and the screen cracked with 10 days, he didn't drop it, sit on it or hit it with something heavy as the people at Orange suggested, he only kept it in his pocket.
I have contacted LG three times and three times they have said they would send out the paperwork for me to return the phone to be checked but I have never received anything from them, still they've had my sons £98 so why waste any of it on customer service.

I found this review very helpful because...the same has happened to me. My screen cracked after a month and I paid £50 for the repair, now 2 months later it wont charge and tesco engineers say there is physical damage, have voided the warranty and will not make a chargeable repair. This phone has been treated with reverence, it has not been dropped or sat on or anything else that could have damaged it, there is not a mark on it and was in fact kept in a leather case is a bag all the time. I found this review very helpful because...I had exactly the same problem with mine after a month, and paid the £50 repair fee from tesco mobile, now 2 months on my phone wont charge, tesco engineer says it has suffered physical damage and has voided the maufacturers warranty and says its uneconomical to repair. I want to get my money back as its not fit for purpose, and your comments about the upgraded metal version rings true with me! This phone has not been abused, it has not been dropped, its hardly been used as it spends more time in the repair shop than with me. Don't buy this fragile phone.
