Bought a pair of fur lined boots for winter which I initialy loved after wearing for a while I noticed the leather around the heel block receeding back to show the cheap white block heel underneath. Contacted Moda In Pelle customer services again as they promtly told me to send them the boots they would have a look at them I though all very positive! I then get a phoen call from them saying the boots have been received and their assessor confirmed that it is wear and tear on the boots due... (read more)

I purchased a pair of boots which turned out to be faulty. They split on one boot behind the heel. Returned them to store and they sent them of to be repaired. They were not repairable as suede was faulty. Offered me a replacement pair which was fine. First replacement pair arrived and were faulty-one boot had so much material in it that it slid down to my foot! Second replacement pair were ordered and were faulty, I didn't see this pair but they were two different shades of brown... (read more)

I bought a pair of shoes from this shop, after wearing them couple times the heel worn out quickly. I brought them back to that store saying that I don't think the shoe is good enough for its price. The girl said they would be send back to head office and the store will give me a call when my shoes are ready to pick up. I didn't get any reply and when I got back manager of the Ocean Terminal Store in Edinburgh said my shoes haven't been sent to the office but because I had to wait he will... (read more)

I bought a pair of shoes for a special occassion, when i got home the shop assistant had put two different sizes in the box, also both shoes were for the right foot! being Christmas time i thought the store would open late so i travelled back ,only to find them closed whilst all the neighbouring stores were still open. I called the store the next day and was told they would be closed that evening before i would be able to get therefrom work, I did explain the shoes were bought for a... (read more)

I recently bought a pair of heels from moda in pelle from the sale £100 reduced to £70. I had always thought this was a nice shop as the shoes are always quite expensive and appear some what glamorous. However when I got these shoes home and took them out the box the gems which were stuck on the heels had started falling of from just sitting in the box and everytime I gently touched the shoes they would proceed to fall apart. I decided to not wear them as it was a lot of money to spend... (read more)

I've just checked the reviews and completely agree! Bought shoed in the Edinburgh Ocean Terminal shop. Took them back within 7 days as when I tried them on at home I knew they would cut the heels on my feet. They had NO MONEY in the till???? I paid £40 cash and they didn't have the money at 2pm to give me back?!!! Never heard anything so ridiculous and pathetic?!!! The manager offered me a credit note! You must be kidding! Then said he would put it on my card...I insisted that as I paid... (read more)

I bought recently a pair of flat ballerina shoes from Moda in Pelle. After a week, I noticed that the bone on both of my toe thumb looked slightly deformed. I found that really worrying as I was always wearing ballerina shoes and never had any problems like this before. I was told by our family doctor to get rid of these shoes as soon as possible and never use them again. I ignored his advice as I had already paid 60 pounds. After wearing them for a month now, I can clearly see that my feet... (read more)

I bought a pair of boots from Moda in Pelle. When I got home I put them on and noticed they had a large lump on the left ankle, which was uncomfortable when walking around. I exchanged them no problem, but the second pair were worse than the first pair. I wore them around the house a bit, thinking maybe my feet would adjust and it was excruciating. When I took the boot off, the lump had sliced a gash in my foot and it was bleeding! I took the boots back and asked for a refund. The staff said... (read more)

This is the worse place ever!!!the shoes and boots are VERY bad quality. They pay so little to get the shoes in and then they sell them at ridiculous prices!! They never look after the customers AND STAFF!! When customers come in wanting to exchange some faults goods we have to send them to get repaired its just ridiculous!! If theres ever shoes that are faulty they'll STILL but them out on display!! The custmoer service is just PANTS, customers always get spoken to like rubbish hence why i... (read more)

Having been a customer of Moda in Pelle for years, i have never once had a problem with their gorgeous products and ever so polite staff. I originally bought their products in their Leeds store and have since bought from their stores in Nottingham and Manchster and more recently on their website. I cannot express enough to both my fmaily and friends how much wear i get out of their products. They are certainly my favourite high street shop!!! A must reccomend to any shoe lovers out... I have recently bought a pair of shoes and a bag, wore them once for several hours and the heal tip came off. The same happened with the bag - after wearing it once it seemed as if I've had it for years. Therefore I returned the items to the store and told I was not happy. They refused to give me a refund and said they would need to be sent to the head office to be fixed. I had to wait nearly two weeks. When the the shoes and the handbag were finally returned, I was told that the heal tip is... (read more)

I am having the same problem with a pair of boots, one boot was perfect and the other finished shabbily and the zip was sticking, I wore them once and returned them to the shop expecting an exchange for a perfect pair, the snotty girl in the shop fiddled about with the zip until it became unstuck and said "there they are fixed"! I refused to take them back so she insisted they had to go to head office engineer. 3 days later somebody rang and said your boots have been repaired !! I have refused to have them returned as for £180 I expect a perfect pair of boots not ones that have been "repaired" as it stands now I have no boots and no refund and am declining the original boots back ............I would have taken a different pair of boots in replacement in the beginning but now I'm so furious with their terrible attitude and customer service I only want a refund..............I feel I may be waiting a long time !!!!!

This is quite worrying - I have bought a paid of their boots online. I am quite fussy so was looking for a pair for ages and found an agreeable pair (not perfect, I fear for that I'll have to start making my own shoes!) at Moda in Pelle for £99. I thought that was fairly reasonable as you usually pay more that that for PVC tat from the high street which isn't even genuine leather but reading your review it seems as though my choice may have been unwise. Did you managed to get a refund or exchange in the end?

I spent all my Christmas money on a pair of shoes in the sale in Moda in Pellie. The were originally around £55- £60, but I got them for around £40. They were rather expensive for patient (not leather) brogues but I was going to treat myself! I thought they would be lovely for my all important Christmas party! They didn't look particularly hard wearing but my party was only for one hour inside and I thought they would be nice for whenever I went out!
When the day for my Party came I arrived...

I was trying on a size 6 and 7 of black patent Hepburn style pumps near closing time at the Manchester branch. The 6 was a tight and the 7 was too big. A member of staff told me that the size 6 would stretch, most likely to get me out of the shop and make a sneaky last minuet sale.
I had only worn the shoes in the house in order to stretch them, after an hour I thought they were too tight and I should exchange for a size up, because Moda in Pelle don't do refunds.
When I complained that...

Bought a pair of boots from the Ilkley shop only for them to loose the heal tip after being worn 4 times. Returned to shop and asked for a refund or new pair. I was told that boots had to be returned to head office where they would be assessed for 'Manufacturing faults' and that a refund/exchange can only be given if a fault is found.
When I said that this is not acceptable and requested a refund I was told bluntly 'no' by the store 'manager', Miss. Walker.. I was accused of being...

I recently brought a pair of shoes, wore them for one afternoon and the heal tip came off. Returned the shoes and said i was not happy. They refused to give me a refund and said they would need to be sent to headoffice to be fixed. I said fine as long as they are perfect when I get them back. I had to wait nearly two weeks. The shoes were poorlyl designed, poorly made. When you wore them for more than five minuets, your foot moved down and toes curl over edge. I wore mine for about ten min, tried to take them back, and they refused, even though shoe is completley brand new. The stitching and the leather design are poorly crafed, and would be gin to unstitch and peel up, when pointing this out to them, they said it is not a flaw.. and you have to send your shoes off to head offices so that people there can... I didn't buy these directly from Moda in Pelle, but instead from www.shoe-envy.co.uk, where they were in the sale reduced from £45.99 to £22.00.
They are really comfy and I have had no problems with them, so I was suprised to read the comments on here and thought I would share my positive experience!
There are lots of the other styles in the sale on there too and the customer service was fab, so maybe the key is to not buy directly from Moda in pelle!!!!

I purchased a pair of sandals in the sale at Moda in Pelle. After wearing them a few times they started to fall apart. I couldn't find the receipt but figured it would be ok to take them back as they were faulty. When the assistant said to me, that I could have bought them anywhere, I pointed out that they had 'moda in pelle' on them! She then said that I could have bought them on e-bay. How rude. Anyway I had to agree to an exchange. However they didn't have another pair so had to settle... (read more)

The law states you need 'proof of purchase' if wanting to return a faulty item, hence the good will gesture of a credit note! Personally i would consider myself lucky to have received anything at all!

This is the second pair of shoes I have had from Moda de Pelle. I boucht some heels least year on which the heel was bent. I took them back and the shop said they had to send them off to a shoe technician. I was called to say they had arrived back and was told that they had to be sent off again, but this could not be done without my receipt. The shop assistant had a precense that made me feel embarrassed to take them back and she told me that I could have bought them from anywhere. They were... (read more)

Think personally you are being a little harsh small chains do not keep that amount of cash on them, but you should have been told this when you purchased the shoes that should you need to return them they may have not taken cash that day so are unable to give it you and it should go on a card. i understand your annoyance but one managers poor skills and that fact that he is a manager and is not aware that infact he doesnt need you to know your cards pin in order to process this sale is ridiculous a manager should know this. Maybe though even though his customer service was poor and the lack of information given to you was unexceptable, maybe you shouldnt be so quick to judge a company of for one persons lack of knowledge? You should give a company a chance after all we all need jobs which i am sure you do too, maybe next time before you write such a tarnishing view on a person, company and a store maybe next time you will think? How would i feel if that was me that had a review like this written about me ? Its hurtful, lifes too short
