I know a bit more about this company then most and I can say its a waste of te and money. The company care more about money then reviews. Everyone says this is a once in a life time experience, This is how they get away with it. They aren't dependent on returning guests like other travel companies. The staff have no drive because they are feeling the effects of an awful company. They pay a deposit which traps them in Finland so they can't quit. It's not the staff that make it a bad... I was very worried about booking with Transun after the dreadful reviews but found it absolutely fantastic but child orientated - not for a romantic day trip!! Father Christmas and his private visit was fab and his cabin was done out fantastically. We did our own thing so didnt follow the group and therefore didnt really queue at all. If youre up for top of the range food, aircraft etc you wont get it but my kids wernt interested in eating really - we had bought sweets. Go with an open... (read more)

I just returned from Enontekio last night having been on day trip with my husband, daughter and 2 grandchildren aged 6 and 7. I cannot fault a thing.Everything ran very smoothly and the whole experience was truly magical from checking in for flight to arriving back home.I travelled to Lapland 6 years ago with my older grandson having booked with Canterbury Travel. It too was magical but our Transun trip was every bit as good. I think that some people's expectations may be set too high, either... (read more)

We just returned from a day trip to Lapland to meet Santa and experience the magical winter wonderland advertised by Transun.. What a waste of money. We spent 15 hours travelling there from Norwich in total and were actually there in the snow for only 3 hours! The Transun rep was friendly but had no idea what was going on, we were herded from place to place queueing for a ride on a reindeer sleigh that just went round in a circle! It took longer to get in it than the ride lasted. The... (read more)

Lapland is a wonderful place with local travel companies who have tens of years of experience how to arrange a fabulous Christmas trip for Brits. They have the local knowledge and they can make you feel special, and you will experience something which you will remember rest of your life - in a positive sense. On the other hand, TRANSUN is a British company wit notoriously bad reputation. At best, it can be described as expensive rip-off and they really know how to ruin your trip. Avoid them... (read more)

Like other people writing a review we wished we had used Canterbury Travel. We booked the holiday as a once in a lifetime trip for our children the youngest being four. We were told by people who had been before that it would be magical, there would be carols on the plane, elves meeting you, the reps in Christmas outfits, magical activities etc but this did not happen. To meet Santa we were taken to a place with a log cabin with two rooms one with hot juice and one with craft activities, a... (read more)

I booked a day trip to Lapland to take my four and a half year old grandson to see santa on what I thought would be a magic trip. This was not the case santa was a thin well spoken English man that would have looked out of place in an English departmental store. No Santa work shop, no Mrs Christmas and no furniture to speak of in Santa House. Very disapointing. Would not recommend Transun Santa Safari to anyone wanting a magical day. (read more)

Just got back from a day trip with Transun on 22nd from Leeds/Bradford family of 4, kids 7&4yrs. We took a long time deciding whether to book or not after reading nightmare reviews but we all had a great time. I do think it is a gamble because of the unpredictable weather but if your willing to take the chance id recommend you do, its so magical! We were delayed 2hrs going but they gave us the 2hrs back when we got there and we did fly Palmair which wasn't bad just needed some extra festive... (read more)

Went on a day trip 11 Dec 2010. What a waste of time and money. Plane broke down on arrival and was stuck on runway, unable to move. This prevented the following flight from Cardiff landing. Herded onto coaches, very little info given grom reps. Dropped off for activities and no info given. Everyone wandering about not knowing what to do and where anything was. After 2 hours everyone was in the 'kota' or the restaurant, fed up and had enough, all wanting to go home. Temp dropped to -30 and... (read more)

travelled to lapland last weekend with transun. We were unable to laand at designated airport and when we landed, a local ski resort rep put us all on buses and we were then driven 250km -2.5 hours more in a coach. By the time we arrived at the resort it was 5.30, pitch black and minus 35! There was no organisation and with so little time, queues were forming and believe me you do not want to queue in those temperatures with children! the huskies were worn out and we didn't get to have a... It would have been nice if we had actually gone. The flight was cancelled at the Boarding Gate. There was only one representative of Transun who very quickly disappeared when complaints started,
What a shambles. total disorganisation.
It was to be a trip of a lifetime for my grandchildren. No grandparent should do this to their little ones.
What a disappointment, what a memory.grandparents who break a promise of what should have been the best day of their lives

It promised to be a holiday of a lifetime, at least for the kids and turned out to be a lame duck. From start to finish, the organisation was lacking and staff was highly confused in what they were supposed to do.
There was a lot of lag time and many of the kids activities were unsupervised, in same cases dangerous, the kids equipment e.g. snowmobiles were not working.
The cabin was equipment deficient with faulty heating and sauna.
