“The Do The Extra Mile!!!”

I thought to write this review, because I have been a customer of GAK for few years and never, ever, had a problem with them. In fact, I was only surprised every and each time I got on the phone with them enjoying a further discount (sometimes symbolic, some surprisingly big) and free postage. Recently I had a mid (£600ish) buy from them. “Disgusting, took my money, item not in stock”

Same old story, bought an item online, they took my money, then got an email saying out of stock. Contacted them for my money they took, they said it would take 7 days to repay me!, what a shocking, disgusting service, never again, going back to ebay or PMT. “They seem not to carry Stock”

I purchased over the phone asking specifically if they had my item in stock since i was in urgent need of it. They confirmed they did, took my card details and money then the item did not arrive next day as promised. I chased it and they said there was a mistake and did not have the item but could get it to them overnight and to me the day after. Still nothing arrived. “DON'T ORDER FROM GAK because they sell stuff they...”

I have ordered an item from GAK early MAY, with the promise that it will be delivered within few days. It's nearly end of July and I do not have the item and neither I or GAK can tell me when it should arrive. GAK does not care, does not take any action to resolve, forget about any help or proper information. “Worst ordering yet!”

Hi, I bought a guitar online from GAK.com I was told it was going to arrive a week after the order. I received an email a few days later saying it was delayed, A few weeks later again I received another email saying it was delayed again(Because none in stock). I called up and was told it was going to arrive in 2 weeks! I was not pleased with the results what I got given. So I cancelled my guitar. I went into the store to try out a couple of guitars, and the staff were friendly, asking me about what i play, what sounds i like ect. “Never again, stick with Thomann”

Ordered an Epiphone Texan and paid for it on Saturday, I was told it would be delivered on Tuesday. It never turned up. When I spoke to customer service they said it was because of bad weather and couldn't get rid of me quick enough. Ordered the same guitar from Thomann this morning at 07:00 and by 10:30 had a text to say that the order had been shipped, good old German efficiency hey. Oh and £10 cheaper than GAK.

I've ordered form GAK quite a few times, I've bought guitars from them twice and countless other accessories, strings/picks etc. Their online store for products is handy, their prices are also decent it costs £4 for a pack of picks and about £5 for strings with a small delivery charge added because of the items cheap value. Totally the same experience. Have now ordered through Thomann for excellent German efficiency and slightly cheaper too, plus they don't pretend that it is next day delivery.

I recently ordered an second hand vintage sunburst Epiphone EJ200 from GAK, but unfortunately they couldn't find it in the shop or warehouse. Their customer service chap emailed me to let me know there was a problem, and that he would continue to try to find the item. A few days later he called me to tell me that it was definitely lost and to see if there was anything else they had that would fit the bill. Well, I order a lot from the internet when it comes to gear, not larger items like Guitars etc, but strings, picks and capos. Writing this review will be the fourth time i've used GAK. There was no stock at the time but stock duly arrived and was sent out immediately within a couple of days of the order. Had problems with a guitar I purchased here, went into the shop to get it fixed, they almost ganged up on me to tell me it was fine, eventually they fixed it, took weeks to get back to me, then it was still broken, they fixed it again after weeks and its STILL broken, its not worth going back so I got the repair done elsewhere and it cost me ££££. I ordered a guitar and case which arrived quickly, but damaged. They arranged to collect the guitar and said that they would repair asap. Two weeks later, the guitar came back to me in a cardboard box (not with the case i originaly bought, and sent back with the guitar), the original fault (split bracing) not fixed, plus deep scratches and the sides of the guitar severly cracked!
