“Half Wiltshire ham bone-in - Little Meat”

We placed an order for a half bone-in Wiltshire ham but it was definitely not half a ham. Although it was over the weight stated, it was basically the bone until it started to widen out, so there was very little meat. I think 70% of the meat must be on the deboned other half. The flavour was nice, just very little of it for the cost. We were very disappointed and complained but were disappointed with their response. Not worth the money.

“No compassion and complete contempt for their customers”

Almost certainly the most contemptuous and uncompassionate service provider I have ever had the misfortune to place an order with. I order a luxury hamper to be delivered to my ageing and ailing parents on their return to the UK. However, before returning my father was diagnosed with skin cancer and has had to remain outside the country for emergency treatment. The outcome of which is not at all certain. I contacted the company for assistance in diverting, postponing or cancelling the delivery as my parents live in a fairly remote area with few neighbours, and a full days drive away from me. All I received was an apologetic fob off and extracts from their November/December delivery policy of “no amendments”. Not even on compassionate grounds. Time and time again I contacted them to get the same lack of customer service or interest. It would be for me to try and head off their delivery company - if I could! But no, their delivery company are today proud to tell me that my parents refuse bins have accepted the hamper. There it will remain, to rot away, until my parents can extricate themselves from hospital and return to the UK. Happy Xmas “Dukeshill” you really know how to make a very emotionally upsetting festive time - that much worse.

“Tasteless Cooked Ham”

We ordered and received a cooked ham for Christmas which arrived on the day it was expected. The ham appeared to be as anticipated but the flavour was limited and disappointing. I would not buy again. The Christmas cake was good however.

“Delivered on wrong date”

Specified delivery on 18/12 , for New Year, but they delivered on 8/12 - way too soon. Called them twice - no helpful response. They "didn't receive" my letter to the chief executive, who was very busy. Their guarantee talks about exceeding expectations. Absolute nonsense. Waitrose beckons!

“Could be Better”

1st Order I made for Christmas was great went without a hitch, but second order I made the got shipping address wrong went to pay and no possible way to change shipping address so called from California on Wednesday at 4:30pm GMT no one there open till 5pm supposedly called order line again no one there (open till 10pm supposedly) no way on web site to cancel order restart or any help from tech or anyone at the Company very unprofessional

“Sent wrong stuff, didn't care”

I ordered a large Christmas order which included a goose, received a turkey instead with shorter use by date than advertised. Ham tasteless. Still no response from them. Avoid at all costs.

“Delivery did not arrive on specified day.”

Very disappointed that my order has not arrived on specified day. I rang the company and was told my order was out for delivery I rang again late afternoon and was told my order would definitely arrive, it did not. There was no communication from Dukeshill to inform me as to what had gone wrong. I shall neither order from them again nor recommend them.

Ordered Bradenham Ham for Christmas. Compared with others I've had, it was tasteless with flavouring/colour only around the fatty surface, All agreed very disappointing. I've now had their unsolicited marketing brochure (Mail Spam!). They should concentrate on quality, not marketing.

“rare breed porchetta”

very disappointed by the rare breed porchetta,flavourless and tough even though i slow roasted it,overpowering flavour of fennel and rosemary i think dry herbs not fresh,no trace of lemon and garlic as mentioned in discription,very poor quality for £40,won't be using them again

Having received their catalogue could resist ordering sausages, barely got the wrapping off before they were under the grill. Good but I was expecting the best sausage ever - it wasn't. Have a turkey coming - hope its better.

“delivery, delivery, delivery”

The Dukeshill's delivery courier in highland Scotland has an interesting pitch; you are 'phoned and told that the van driver is 'under pressure' and could you drive out to a nearer point - 'Is there anywhere I could meet you?' or: 'Is there anywhere I could leave it?' He does not take no for an answer, so you are intimidated into agreeing to his dropping off the goods at a location of his choice, before thinking about the sheer lunacy of this arrangement and phoning the supplier. Dukeshill then professes outrage but does precisely nothing, the latest case resulting in no delivery of my order at all. This scenario has happened on both occasions I have ordered from Dukeshill, so they cannot be too concerned about putting it right. There must be other ham companies, and I suggest we try and find them and remind this toffee-nosed bunch that their Royal Highnesses cannot consume the company's whole output. Michael Begg

Placed a large order of Christmas of two hams, three turkeys and salmon.
Today is the 5th of January and the hams and salmon still havent arrived, with no response from Dukeshill to our emails or phone messages. We managed to get through on the phone today and were told that it was the courier company's faul not theirs.
We received the Turkeys very late and had to purchase three more from elsewhere - They are refusing to refund us.
The service is incredibly rude and very dissapointing I would advise you purchase the same food from other suppliers.

We bought over £200 worth of items from Dukeshill. It was delivered on 22/12/2009 for the Christmas/New Year Period. Some items were to be sent onto to friends & family. When we opened it the "Best by" dates were 26/12/2009. Not a very good point for a Company with a Royal Warrant. When we rang Dukeshill, their excuse was that the best by date had been written wrong. (and the band played believe it if ypou like. That's the last we'll buy from Dukeshill.

Dukeshill Fine Food - Small Witshire Ham was well cured and the instructions were easy to follow by someone not used to handling so much meat at one time. The ham fitted on one shelf in the frige and was useful and generous gift lasting throughout the Christmas period last year, looks set to do the same this year (2008).

The delivery is efficient and the food, apart from the Stilton, is a sample of country life that is worth while and in the case of a present most welcome.
