Good Points: Solid Sitka Spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back, abalone purfling on top, abalone rosette, abalone inlay on fretboard, proprietary bridge-truss system. And, most important of all, the sound!

Bad Points: This model has been discontinued from Breedlove's product line.

General comments: I bought this because I was looking for a 6-string guitar with a price limit which took me into the low end of Martins and Taylors. I had tried several different models from the Godin family of acoustic guitars (Art & Lutherie, Simon & Patrick, Seagull), along with Taylor, Martin, Alvarez, Yamaha, Epiphone, Ibanez, and Walden. While more expensive than all but the low end Taylors and Martins, this clearly held its own in terms of sound when compared to some higher priced Martins. Specifically, this had the sound I remembered from my teenage years when an acquaintance allowed me the too-brief pleasure of playing his 1969 Martin D-35. The decision to forget the others and buy this one became a no-brainer. As I noted, the one glaring fault with this model is that Breedlove has discontinued it. For those interested, the comparable model similar to this remaining in the Breedlove product line is the AD25/SR Plus. The difference being that this model is a non-cutaway dreadnaught body while the AD25 model is a cutaway acoustic-electric guitar.
