Ruger Air Hawk/Trouble right out of the box/would not group/was cleaned before sight in/ Done from bench rest with different types of pellets none grouped/ Sent it back to Umarex for repair. I did not have sales receipt so had to pay for repair/ They admitted it was a factory defect also had screw missing /Not good customer relations/Got it back with new barrel and trigger group/Cleaned and set up for sight in from rifle rest/ still will not group all over and some not even on target /So far gun has been junk
his gives ruger a bad Rap for sure because Ruger is a great old gun company
Umarex is a hassle to deal with.
got a Crosman Phantom 177./ Cleaned and sight in dime group @ 25 yards .Also have a benjamin 22 multi pump good shooter with open sights.
    Stay away from the Ruger.
shoot often shoot safely share the sport

    Junk!!!!!!!!
I,m a former FFL dealer, and target shooting buff. Good luck with this Ruger Air Hawk .177. Benched at 15 yards my sample made an astounding 4" group, with three different scopes, and the same with open sights. The workmanship was nice, but not nice enough to stay in my home as a paperweight.

As i told the guy in the store that i wanted to try a stay away from Chinese made guns. Having the Ruger brand i thought i would give it a try as the guy told me they have sold lots and none have come back. Well guess what? less than 10 shots and i would try to cock it but it wouldn't catch and would just snap back. I am taking it back tomorrow and and see what kind of a deal i can swing on a Diana (RWS) in .177 cal. which i should of bought in the first place. Gamo would be my next choice if t ...

I just purchased the Ruger Air Hawk from a local Big5 during a sale. The rifle was a pretty good buy for $119. I'd read up a bit about it, and followed some of the tips about sanding the stock a bit to allow a slight space between it and the compression cylinder, as well using a bit of loctite on the muzzle break, sight mounts, and the 2 bolts on the stock located under the barrel break. The original scope was crap right out of the gate, but Big5 promptly changed that out without hassles. Once th ...

This Ruger Air Hawk .177 pellet gun is absolutely great, I would recommend it for older people or adults though, because of the hefty cocking effort and recoil that this gun sets off.

The Ruger Air Hawk .177 is a nice gun for a good price. Good fit and finish.

Before ever shooting for the first time, tear down and remove excess oil! When you reassmble, lock-tite all screws that hold it in the stock.

i could not zero the scope that came with the gun, so i purchased a leapers 4x32 bugbuster scope and this made the perfect set-up. after shooting several different types of pellets, i found the predator polymag pellets to be the most accurate and consistent for my gun. these pellets are a little pricey but boy-howdy are they bad to the bone for hunting small game. for traget shooting i use the crossman premier hollowpoints, they shoot about the same as the polymags and cost about $6.00 per tin ( ...

Ruger Air Hawk .177. Broke in nicely after 100 shots. No accuracy can be attempted until rifle quits dieseling. Quality is excellent considering the price. Scope came lose once, locktighted everything. Has a scope stop built in.

    Tried 3 types of pellets.
Crosman Pointed Hunting Pellets, shoot low and to the left.
Gamo Armor Piercing, Shoot straight and high.
Crosman Premier Hollowpoints, shoot straight and accurate, shot groups nearly touching at 50 meters.

Power is great, I primarily use ...

    The Early Scoop

The Ruger Air hawk is a chinese made airgun imported by Umarex that bears Ruger's brand name with an advertised muzzle velocity of 1,000 f.p.s. in .177cal. It is rumered to be made by BAM (Xisco) for Umarex. They have a reputation for making some of the best chinese made guns out there.
The rifle comes packaged in a polybag wth foam blocks supporting the muzzle and the butt of the rifle. Also included in the box was the waranty information, the usual warnings, a 4x32 scope, owne ...
