It cost me very little money to buy it and fix it and it gave me very big pleasure....it has great acceleration because is very light...but you cant stop it easy after 100km...No one is perfect! For its time (90s) I think that it was the best turbo car including Renault gt5!...

I owned a Fiat Uno 1.4L Turbo for a few years and there is only one way to describe this car - "Too fast for it's own good!' My car was lowered on racing suspension with momo rims, steering wheel and shifter boot. I had a custom Downpipe on my turbo and about 2 inch exhaust piping from the headers back. My turbo pressure was turned up just a bit from factory trim. Overall a fun car to have but not your everyday grocery getter type of car - with the car lowered the amount of cushion in the suspension...

It is frankly laughable to allow 17 year old boy racers to allow to place this old tin box from the year dot to get almost as high a rating as a Ferrari 360 Modena F1. If I followed the advice of this site I'd find myself looking at Maestro's and Uno's as practical motoring choices. This part of the site needs to be divided in to cars less than five years old (or 15 years in the case of this heap) and bangers, because a Uno is a banger....

What a load of rubbish! I've had two Uno Turbo's and one Punto GT Turbo and I've only had two problems with them.

Problem 1, was on a mk1 Uno Turbo and the electric windows stopped working along with the wipers. I changed the fuses and all was OK.
Problem 2, was on the Punto GT and it was the coil pack.
