Despite poor reviews on this site the machine was great. Finally the bearings are failing grinding sound. Will take a risk and go for another Bosch.

This washing machine is EXCELENT if you live in a flat or struggle to keep up with washing because it is very quiet (for a washing machine)and the cycle times are pretty quick about 45-60 mins for a "cotton" wash (our new machine takes up to 2.5 hours on a "cotton" wash).... we washed our clothes at midnight/2am/4am etc with the Bosch Machine and never had any complaints about noise!! The machine is also very economically friendly as doesn't use much water, although their is an option to add more water. We had the machine for about 6 years and never had any problems with it! Sadly for us we just purchased a Becko washing machine for £149.99, which overall had very good 4.5 star reviews from Argos.. but if only we had known when we brought it that the only downside was the noise level and the fact it moves (and yes the legs are level) then we wouldn't have bought it as we've now got to spend £10 on rubber floor pads etc! Our new machine has an excellent variety of wash functions, but it is SOOOOOO noisy, to the point where our neighbours have complained and we can no longer wash our clothes past 8pm!! If you live in a flat and need something quiet and fairly quick - go for it, but if you want REALLY clean clothes i.e. better stain removal and longer wash cycle options go for something else which is less economically friendly (i.e. uses more water and has longer cycle times). Overall a good buy and washes ok. Considering the AGE of this model it was very good and has obviously done well as still being sold !

Owned a Bosch classixx 6 Express washer for less than 4 years alongside its partner tumble dryer . Have had intermittent problems with poor spinning performance on the machine and horrible build up of dirt in the huge rubber seals behind the door which despite constant cleaning wouldn't come off and dirtys clean laundry on removal . Yesterday the washing machine packed in completely (just outside 3 year warranty )and I understand the control board has gone completely making it uneconomic to repair . I only bought Bosch for the first time on renovating our kitchen and thought we would go for premium brand . Bad bad decision as this unit and the partner spin dryer which has had 2 handles which snapped off during the warranty period replaced have been an abysmal investment . Timescales for obtaining the replacement handle from Bosch in Germany was 2 weeks on the last occasion . Despite repeated complaints in writing to Bosch all I received was platitudes about how wonderful the service record at Bosch is ! My view is that one product = unlucky 2 products is indefensible . The fact that Bosch clearly don't take customers bad experiences on board at all adds insult to injury . Will never buy Bosch again and would not recommend to my worst enemy .

This machine has work night and day. From kids to work wear loads and more. Never a problem in all those years in the first 4 years its been over 12 loads a week. In the past 5 years with more kids and grown ups I can see it doing 3-5 loads in a day. There isn't a day goes by that it doesn't do less than 2 loads unless we are on holiday of course. But now I have to replace the brushes. Not bad. Not expensive either. So if I had to replace the machine it would still be bosch again and again.

Machine showing motor error code 3 panel lights flashing, also getting control panel error code, maybe because water was disconnected when checking. resetting code, checked brushes, cost of parts to repair+labour not viable option. bought New no brand machine at half the cost

We have had ours for over 10 years now and it continues to perform although now getting a little noisy. Despite regular use (3 - 4 times per week), not once has it needed any maintenance. Guess we will have to buy fresh before much longer and hopefully we will be able to buy another of these machines with similar reliability.

We were given this machine about 7 years ago by relatives who moved overseas. They had only had the machine 2 years. So in all about 9 years of use before todays first little issue - the drum won't spin. I had a similar problem with our Tumble Dryer (also Bosch and the same age) -and to repair that I replaced the brushes (about 40 mins work), at a cost of £12, and all was working. Checked the brushes on the washing machine and this seems to be the issue again. Brushes are very cheap (don't need the "official" product), so I consider this a great product. If I get another 3-4 years out of it I'll be overjoyed! If it is not the brushes, I still consider 9 years very good - especially given my wifes high load levels! It does feel a little cheap by Bosch standards (plasticy and "feels" less durable), but it's cheaper than some of their other models, so I'll take that! Very good value.

Cannot fault it. Like every bosch appliance we've owned. Fantastic combination of quality at sensible prices.

Had Bosch previously and replaced with this model around 3 years ago. Had problems with the spin programme (clothes still heavy with water)towards end of first year but was only now and again and seemed to clear when put on to manual spin. Machine gave up the ghost yesterday out of the blue- would not switch on at all although all of the spin speed indicator lights were showing red. Checked on internet and seems a number of people having similar problems. Chap who repairs washing machine had a look and says it looks like the main board has gone and cheaper to buy a new machine. Machine was not cheap and expected Bosch to be better - as I say had Bosch previously and was fine. I would also say the build quality is not as good as the older machines - very plasticky and I would say not worth the money. Would definitely check on internet for known faults against model before buying any machine again.

Had this machine for 9 years and it never missed a beat in 8 years of which they were 8 years hard labour only needed a new pump to keep it going for one more year at cost off £35.only then after last failure did we decide that after the amount of wear and tear it was time to replace would highly recommend this machine to anybody Germanic really ability at it best

Inherited this machine 4 years ago when my great aunt died. She had acquired it two or three years previously. I have to say I cannot fault it. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it - and it leads a pretty hard life. It is fairly quiet and washes and rinses very well. The one bugbear I have with it is that nothing I can do will prevent it beeping loudly at the end of the cycle. There was an instruction leaflet explainimg a combination of button brushes (the buttons are non-moving touch sensitive) but that did not work. The touch sensitive buttons may not suit disabled users - they do not react unless touched with something warm, so I presume will not work if you have a prosthetic hand. The LED indicators will also not give off enough heat for disabled users to detect whether they are on or off. A bit of a gimmick, really. The door also needs a bit of force to open and close. I also have a 1998 vintage Bosch WFF2001, which has required a few engineer visits but continues to work well. Would I recommend this Classixx? Only if you don't have a family - the drum isn't enormous (Bosch say it takes 6kg) and I frequently have both machines running simultaneously, both somewhat overloaded - and there are only four humans in this house! When I am next buying a machine, it will be one of the big 8kg machines, no doubt. All in all, though, I am very happy with this machine and would still be had I paid full list price for it.

I've had my machine for four years. It has been repaired numerous times. The final repair under warranty required a new control panel & I was told by the repair man that it was almost beyond economic repair. I have just had it repaired out of warranty, the bushes needed replacing, more expense. Having read reviews on this site I think I should have scrapped it because it sometimes takes an age to complete a cycle so I now suspect a timer problem & it sounds like the bearings have gone too. That said 4+ years inc repair bills still only adds up to £2 a week......what would your company give me for that?

We got this machine along with our new build house almost exactly 3 yrs ago, installed by the builders. Im not a washing machine enthusiast (who is really? Apart from repairmen...) and all I want to know about a machinre is does it work ok and will it last a long time, by which I mean at least 5 yrs. This unit is fairly easy to use, is unobtrusive and functional and has given us no problems until yesterday when it stopped spinning - have now tried everything to get it to spin or to isolate the problem. After much surfing the forums it seems this is a very common fault in these machines after bet two and a half and four years. Bottom line in these situations is - do I get a repair guy out or do I cut losses and get a new machine? From what Ive found across many forums is that it could be the motor, the timing unit, or more unlikely, the brushes. To get a repair guy will cost minimum of £60 (costs for above parts range from £160 to £50) and will involve waiting in and feeling held to ransom by his assessment. Buying a new machine will cost about £400. Based on reviews of this Machine Ive got, Ive decided to get a decent machine (preferrably on interest free Hp) and hope its a better bit of kit.

Hi Had this washer for four years and not gone wrong yet. I have had bosch before and always done well. We do around 7 loads a week and the wife does over load it as well.
It's not odd for some to go wrong as with all things, you must have had a bad one. I can say there are worse makes out there.
Just dont buy a cheapo you can be sure it will go wrong.

Like the other reviews I have timer problems, it now takes over 3 hours for a wash. I also thought Bosch would be a durable machine.

have a bosch exxcel 1200. only 4 years old and have had it repaired 3 times. control panel gone. cheaper to buy a new machine than repair it. thought this was a relyable brand as it was an expensive item. won't be buying a bosch again.

Had our Bosch for 2 1/2 years and it has just stopped. Seems to be the same problem other are having. Very dissappointed in what we though was a reliable brand. Will NOT be buying Bosch again.
The good review on here says it all "Reccomended by a repair shop" guess they know that will be more business.

Only had my Bosch Classixx 1200 Express for 3 years when control panel was faulty. Had to pay engineer to come out and tell me this. Total cost for repair - Part £180 plus his time. Scrapped it. Very disappointing as I thought Bosch were reliable.
