“Disgusting ”

Written on: 02/12/2015 by Walkeren310 (1 review written)

I had a problem with water not getting hot on occasions n despite having the yearly services required to maintain my warranty when I called to report this known problem they couldn't find my details on the system so no valid warranty n therefore it was going to cost me £120 for them to fix it, I argued till I was blue in the face n they won't do nothing unless I pay, the installer said if that was the case he wasn't fitting any more boilers n still they don't care!! I'm informing watchdog… Read Full Review

“Highly unreliable boiler”

Written on: 29/10/2015 by Juane500 (1 review written)

Ideal icos HE boilers are nothing but trouble. There customer service is also rubbish. I have emailed them several times but never even had a response. I live in a new housing development & I can tell you several people in our street have actually binned them when they were less then 3 years old. There is a common fault with the PCB. I am on my third PCB & the boiler is only 8 years old. I have now decided to join the rest of the street & throw it in the bin. so good luck if you buy one… Read Full Review

“don't confuse the rubbish ideal isar with brilliant...”

Written on: 02/09/2015 by ZaraHahn258 (1 review written)

0ideal isar boilers of many years ago were problematic, but the new ideal vogue is entirely re-designed and has premium components, unlike the budget Isar 0 which was used for Government free schemes. The Vogue has the same quality components as the Vaillant and the manufacturer's are offering 7 or 10 years guarantees - depending upon their installers! Time will show that the new Ideal wishes to forget the Isar and will herald the Vogue as the fore-runner with Vaillant… Read Full Review

“Worst boiler ever! Installed under warm front scheme!”

Written on: 06/02/2015

Boiler was installed under warm front scheme late 2009. It has now completely broke. The heat exchange has gone. Engineer has looked at it, they said boiler was manufactured in 2005, so was 4 years old when installed! No wonder it has been so rubbish! Warm front scheme have left us buggered by installing something they have bought cheap and that blatantly is a pile of rubbish! Avoid at all costs!!… Read Full Review

“Rubbish junk boilers”

Written on: 25/05/2014 by robertringo (1 review written)

We have had problems with hot water, heating, fuses being blown, pcb being changed at least 4 times, fan and other parts we do not remember the names of. Even in summer to get luke warm water I have had to leave it on from 9am this morning till 4pm Please stay clear of Ideal boilers. I hate them so much. There is nothing to like about this boilers. Not fit for the purpose. Even the engineers hate them. Ideal should go into a different trade which they know about and stop making these rubbish… Read Full Review

“Absolute rubbish. not fit for purpose”

Written on: 12/04/2014 by garbaldy (1 review written)

This boiler was recommended by the plumb centre and we where assured they are good quality (how the salesman sleeps at night is no bodys guess pure lies) It was fitted as part of a complete new system from top to bottom and two weeks after the 2 year guarantee ran out so did our luck, no help from ideal as I did not take up extra cover so got our local plumber to fix it, £860 and 4 new parts later we had hot water, fast forward two years and its now broken for the fourth time and trips the… Read Full Review

This was installed in 2006 and has broken down so many times I have lost count, but think its somewhere in the region of 25 times. major parts like PCB needed replacing after just 18 months. Written on: 13/01/2014 by lindseyhodges (1 review written)

Had combis before no problems this was fitted 3 1/2 yr ago but upto press we have not been able to get constant hot water, only warm water after 2-3 mins and once in a flood it spits out boiling water that burns you that's it. Neither warm front or installers or MP's have been able to get it fixed for us so my no baths or washing up without boiling kettle instead. Not fit for purpose and as installed for disabled/elderly it is disgusting how many people will needlessly die this winter due to… Read Full Review

Not long after the guarantee ran out, mine developed exactly the same problem. Two plumbers have told me the boiler is ok, and to run my water slower. It`s been nine months, and I still have no hot water. An absolute nightmare.

“9 Years no problem.”

Written on: 10/01/2014 by pontius_pilate (1 review written)

This boiler has now been running for over 9 years. We have never had a problem of any kind with it, never serviced it, just completely ignored it and were blissfully unaware of all the poor reviews. Maybe it's only people with trouble that write the reviews. Maybe I wouldn't recommend to a friend, but as I say, no problem so far… Read Full Review

Hahahahah!
Actually maybe the reason we had no trouble was because I fitted a water pressure regulator by the stopcock at the incoming water supply. 2 bar constant pressure, no problems.

Had(?) concerns over purchasing this boiler after reading negative reviews. Assured by plumbnig merchant that they are cheap and chearful so, due to lack of funds for "better" quality boiler, i purchased one. No problems until 18 months of instalation wnen it failed. Contacted my eon insurance to have fault repaired. They called out after 3 days, checked the boiler out and advised me to have the repair done under my 2 year warranty with Ideal.Id been paying £17 a month for this cover and… Read Full Review

“Worst boilers ever made”

Written on: 11/11/2013

We have had this boiler for 6 years and its been nothing but trouble. PCB has gone three times, thermistor changed, heat exchanger plate and it leaks from time to time. The parts are expensive and the build quality is very poor. If you don't strip down the condensate tap at least every 18months and clean out the ash that collects there the boiler will leak and blow the electrics. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!… Read Full Review
