“could of been better, but stil Great !”

got this game last year figuring it would at least decent and I goota say considiring TREYARCH ( a decent game developer IMO) did a pretty good job on the game.. They kept the same concept from MODERN WARFARE into World @ War.. Treyarch makes a convincing argument to stay excited with World at War.I like their campaign with the new setting and levels in Japan, and yet the Russian levels arent badd. The multiplayer is very much like COD4 but with a few new add ons..The game is packed with a deep amount of gameplay to appeal to every type of player, from those who want to experience a new campaign. This is a solid, confident shooter with plenty to offer. May not be a classic but its deffinitly worth playing.

“We were all very hyped when Call of Duty World at War...”

★★☆☆☆

written by carternm31 on 06/07/2010

We were all very hyped when Call of Duty World at War came out as Modern Warfare was such a step in the right direction and, well, Modern! but was a massive let down World at War was...

The actual game was quite good, lots of levels, story was a little longer than MW. Very accurate and again the graphics were stunning. Some mission however are near on impossible on veteran (ferris wheel one!!) but still fun to go back and do all your levels again.

On-line however was a mess when it first came out, nothing worked, the tanks were impossible to blow-up and if some kids got all the tanks it was pretty much a victory for them. It was a shame because I loved the tanks and cars on COD3, they were great fun and added to the game, but somehow it wasn't the same on COD5. I've since heard that they removed the tanks from online multiplayer & now its apparently a bit better.

I was excited by the killstreaks: Recon Plane (3 Kills) Artillery Strike (5 Kills) & Unleash the Dogs (7 Kills) However because of the flow of the game it was near on impossible to get 7 kills in a game!! a big shock when your used to getting 20+ in Modern Warfare.

Overall I wouldn't bother with this game, still to the Modern Warfares, and let hope Black Ops has a bit more thought into it!

“Call of Duty World at War is a first-person shooter...”

★★★★☆

written by Dannyclub09 on 07/12/2009

Call of Duty World at War is a first-person shooter game aged 15+.

When Call of Duty 4 came out is was a big "WOW", everyone wanted it and eventually it became game of the year, i must admit myself it was very good.

When World at War (5) came along quite a bit of people raced to the shops to get it but they became a bit disapointed because the game could of done with a bit more work, it is good though.

You play first in the US marines as Pvt.Miller, in the first mission your team and you have been caught by the japinies, a few moments after seeing Pvt.Pyle die you were about to get killed until Roebuck came along and saved you, Sgt.Sullivan got you geared and you got into war.

Through the game you switch from a russian soldier to american, your russian character is called Dimitri and you go along with Sgt.Reznov who is a submachine gunner that used to be a sniper until he had a few of his fingers cut off by the german.

It is a good game altogther and i do reccomend it if you can find it at a good price.

“A step back for the COD series. ”

★★★☆☆

written by KayakBloke on 22/04/2009

A step back for the COD series.
When COD 4 hit the shelves it pushed the boundaries and engraved itself firmly in the history books as a fantastic game in single player and online.
COD 5 is dissapointing, perhaps a little because the expectation was so high.
Game play feels linear. The levels fels staged and it's very repetitive.
The Russian levels feel like Deja Vu from previous versions.

I agree, Call of duty 4 made it hard for other shooters to compete. Call of duty 5 is worse than COD4, but they included a fun Zombies minigame which redeemed the game for me.

Call of Duty 5 World at War is overall a very good game, unfortunately a few glitches which they take ages to fix and people take advantage of them. But the multilayer is immense unfortunately you cant have split screen online but an incredibly good game.
Once you play cod 5 you'll be bored with any other game.

Call of Duty 5 World at War has great graphics and excellent storyline and nazi zombies which hilariously fun. I just think that this game won't last as long as cod 4 and after you've got bored of nazi zombies and burning everything down with the flamethrower you wiill eventually end back at cod 4. still a good game to pick up though.

Call of Duty 5 World at War - Fun for a while, but guaranteed to have you dusting off COD4 and logging back in. Be warned though, the diehards in the COD4 match-ups are seasoned veterans now. Ouch.

A laugh playing with your friends in zombie mode and you can play multiplayer through missions. The single player is very good with the Russians but the American missions SUCK. I am the 214th best player in the world on that game.

“Call of Duty should make more maps for zombie mode...”

★★★★★

written by cooldude 95 on 01/12/2008

Call of Duty should make more maps for zombie mode with better weapons because on every game I play I always here what I wrote on top and that they should make better maps. However still well recommend Call of Duty: World at War for the Xbox 360.
