“Peru holiday ”

Very disappointed with the customer service from this company We were booked to go to Peru later this month, however with the ongoing political unrest and declared state if emergency in the country we contacted Cox and kings to request to transfer our deposit to another holiday of equal value, however this was not acceptable to the company, they only offered to move the holiday by 6 months, due to work commitments this is not suitable to us, something that C&K could not acknowledge, the only option was to cancel the holiday and lose a large deposit, they were encouraging us to pay the full amount and then make a decision 30 days before date due to travel, but this would then mean us losing £4500 ???? We made a formal complaint and had an extremely poor response, not at all satisfactory! We will NEVER book another holiday with this company!

“Virgin in colabiration with Cox and Kings”

Booked our holiday through Virgin, and to be honest we had saved up to go with virgin because we thought it would be a bit special. The holiday was the Golden Triangle with 6 days in Goa at the end, It was run by Cox and Kings. We already had an amazing holiday in South India with Citrus holidays, and it was a third of the price of North India with Virgin. I would never have enough time to list all the bad points about Cox and Kings, but leaving us stranded at 3am in the morning, no answer on emergency numbers, charging us for a night in a hotel and for breakfast that we never had. Taking us by coach across India when it was supposed to be first class rail. A strike was on, but apparently the strike has been on and of for three years, so sometimes you get a train and sometimes it`s the coach, and when I say coach I use that term very loosely, Titan Holidays supply a coach, as we saw numerous times. I have photo`s of the filthy hotel room that we had to be moved from into another room. My partner was crying with disappointment as she had been so looking forward to the holiday. Virgin either do not check the holidays they sell, or don`t care. Use Virgin for flights only, stay away from their packages, and never go with Cox and Kings. A couple I work with went with Newmarket Holidays, they saw a lot more than us, got to stay in a palace, had a great time, and it was a lot cheaper. Virgin proves that paying a lot more does not mean you will get a better holiday.

“very bad management, they change whole itinary of...”

We 8 personsfrom ahmedabad travel through cox and kings at Russian on 28th august 2018 but we have very bad experience.what they have given itinary at the time of booking, whole itinary was changed flight was delayed for 4hrs, so we missed st petersberg flight and we reached at 3,30am on 29.8..2018 . sightseeing was changed tour guide had poor knowledge.HE forgot the ticket of peterhof tour so whole day was spoil and we have at last seen for 45 minutes. tank ride was given for only 55 seconds so we have spoil wwhole day in that tour. we have not given enough time at red square which is the most important place.entry ticket was not given.so many hurdles were given by cox and kings. we have already complain to the responsible director but we have not receive any reply so main smartness of cox and kings is that they give all documents at last day at around 7.0pm and the office is close then after

“Respected Sir/Madam We took the glimpse of Europe...”

Respected Sir/Madam We took the glimpse of Europe Tour with this highly renowned tour and travel company ie. Cox And Kings. Our trip was going on a satisfactory note until the talk of our free day began.. we were informed by our tour manager that on our free day we were supposed check out of our hotel at 7 am in the morning which was not at all mentioned in the itinerary at all , and told us to look out for ourselves as she had to take the other group to Grund (a train station in Switzerland) for the excursion that we didnt choose as we wanted to relax as it was our "Free Day". The tour manager dismissed our requests of any sort and had no solution for our family of 8 people and we were left stranded out of the hotel at 7 am in the morning. Then after a heated discussion she agreed that while checking out of the hotel,she will drop us off at Interlaken while on her way to Grund , we agreed to this plan as we had no other option left after being harrased by our tour manager refusing to coordinate with eight of her tour members. My family and I were all set to be dropped off at Interlaken but due to her utter missmanagement, she did not coordinate with the bus driver well. When the driver asked if he should drop us all first to Interlaken she refused and told him to take route leading straight to Grund then later when we asked the driver to drop us at interlaken as promised by our tour mannnager, he too denied our request saying that the tour mannager Mrs Reshma did not plan it this way at all with him... rather than coordinating anything at all for my family of Eight memeber and another couple of the tour she left us in middle of no where with no instructions whatsoever at the Grund train station. When we called and contacted her she told us that she can't help us and asked us all to be on our own. My family at this point of time was left humiliated and harassed on a foreign land with no assistance from the Cox and Kings team in Delhi as well despite of them being aware of our situation we were told that they wil get in touch with the Head office in Mumbai and get back to us .. dissapointment striked further on when we got no response from them as well I have been a loyal customer of this company since the last few years and had paid a good amount of 10 Lakh rupees on this tour but still was mentally and emotionally harassed by this Tour and travels company. Despite of many Complaints made to the Delhi office I recived no response and wasn't compensated for the expenses( total of 432 Franc , 30, 013 rupees INR ) LET ALONE FOR THE MENTAL HARSSAMENT I had to incur due to the missmanagement of the tour manager and this well renowed travel company. PRAYER: On behalf of my family, it is my humble request that we should be compensated for all the financial troubles we went through and the mental harrasment faced by us in the foreign land.

“Don't confuse their offices - London is different to India”

I have just come across a lot of negative reviews about Cox & Kings on this site and was really surprised. I’ve travelled with them a few times and they’ve always been great. So, I brought this up with the company’s office in London when booking my recent holiday to Jordan and they explained that the reviews on the Review Centre site are almost all for people travelling with coxandkings.com, which is the Indian-based part of the company, running cheap tours for Indians going abroad. Although they’re part of the same group, the trips organised by Cox & Kings out of London are a completely different kind of holiday and much higher quality. Personally, I’ve always found the staff in London really helpful and the tours are excellent. I’d recommend them.

“Refund Policy”

We booked a Group Holiday with Cox and Kings with a guaranteed PAX of 70. Though we finally had a group of about 90, there were 4-5 cancellations. Despite the group size being over the agreed minimum, Cox and King took a very "legal" attitude on not refunding the amount paid. Knowing that we might take a legal route to recovery, they even threatened to cancel the entire Group Holiday if final payment was not made. This was so annoying that the entire group branded Cox and Kings as cheats and would never deal with them again.

“Discovering europe from coach”

Agents booked our nri trip and than merged us with indian discovery tour which was given at much lower price to indian customers .we were told it's an upgraded tour with good hotels. But hotels were far away for which we spend most of our time in bus travelling to hotels and time cut off from sight seeing. The tour manager had bad approach towards indians..she on each and every step used to say hurting words like they r not interested in history...dnt know how to behav in hotels...for breakfast etc....it was disgusting... Even to city guide she used to tell in her ears dnt tell them too much they r indians not interested. Always worried about reaching hotEl om time and cut our sight seeing time.. No promises kept by cox and kings..

“European Gems spoiled by Tour manager”

First family tour was spoiled by I experienced tour Guide, who had no knowledge about the main places we visited. Everyone was sarcastically commenting on his knowledge of tour..He was only arranging the Dinner in time. At Chamonix Mont Blanc he misguided the people that cable ride to go down the mountain to see Glacier museum from railway station is not included in our tour. Whereas it was . He would say Google and find out if we say tell us something about particular place. Hotels were good but so much rushing up for dinner... The tour manager really spoiled our tour. Would not travel by this company again..

Well..I vl GV my true opinion...don't spoil ur dream holiday with Cox n kings...just waste of money...no prior bookings done , hotel not gud, literally same food everyday...v paid extra for Gujarati tour bt not at all managed well...n before all this. Our tour manager lost his passport on the 2 nd day our tour so an inexperienced other tour manager came who knew nothing abt Europe or bookings...total waste of money ...

“WORST SERVICE AND WELL UNORGANISED”

I booked under Bharat Dekho-Himachal Delight package I spoke to multiple people including senior person from COX & KIND for all the issue's we are facing during trip but no one bother to hear you, It's one of the worst tour in my life and words class unorganized company. Team don't bother to return your calls with corrective action but for Cox and king customer is not that much important. We had couple of passengers who had food poising due to worst quality food.Cox and king management must be very good in saling and marking the product but mouth publicity is only key to success in this industry. You people are completely fail in to it. COX and KING Will follow up with you till the time of payment after that they will least bother to update you, yourself have to do all the things including coordinating with driver , hotels , site seeing etc. Tour manager for our trip is one of the pain, he himself was learning and not even come to site to show the way. He has missed couple of spot from intermarry. Please don't spoil your vacation with COX & KING. VERY VERY POOR COMPANY..USELLESS staff

“Dream turned into Nightmare ”

Worst tour ever, nobody should ever take this tour. USA tour was my long standing dream which turned into a nightmare experience with this tour. I never expected that I and my husband will be treated like a second class citizens. First of all no one came to pick us up on the airport, we had to pay $100 to get to the hotel, because the hotel was very far away from the airport (Throughout the whole tour, at every destination the hotels were booked far away from the main attraction of that town. I feel like we were spending lot of our time in the bus only). And, if you get even a little bit late to reach the instructed spot in the evening, the manager would not wait at all, and would leave us at the spot, then we had to take a cab to reach the hotel, and also miss the dinner.. So on that day we did not have dinner and also spend cab fare of $50 again to reach the hotel. The tour manager was very rude all the time. Once I had to tell him that if this continues I will have to call 911 and report about your harassment. Next, the tour manager told us that he likes south Indian people, because they are very quiet and do not resist, he also added, GUJARATIS are worst people to have on my tour. Be careful before you book your tickets. They are very good until you pay them. We never got quality food and accommodation and when we tried to bring our dissatisfaction to their notice.. They said that you are come in an economy class. I suggest no one should take this tour.

“Hell with Cox and Kings”

Isn't there a Zero or Minus Five rating option available? These guys (all of Cox and Kings literally) are cheats who will entice you to book their tours with their smooth talk till they get your payment. After that it is hell dealing with them. Hotels promised will not get booked, visas will not get processed, no travel vouchers will be given. In fact you would have left for their foreign tour and they would still not send the hotel vouchers! Stay away from Cox and Kings. They are a bunch of money grabbing cheats.

“Unprofessional Service”

Never use Cox and Kings services, its a complete waste of time and money, people are completely unprofessional and cut corners in all job responsibilities. I have personally called cox and kings atleast 6 times and have waited for someone to respond everytime. For two times I got through I spoke to advisors, absolutely useless people cox and kings hire. I have to say, your company is the most unprofessional company I have come across. Absolutely no ownership of the clients requests. I have been knocked off at the payment gateway and needed some help to make the final full payment of INR5.47 Lakhs. I should say, I am thankful to gods that my payment did not get through with this utterly unprofessional company. May be you hire illiterate people in your team because you do not want any more business. I will personally make sure that a copy of this email is posted at consumer forum and at all social media and travel sites. No one should go through this torture. I would rather go with some other company. If you don't want to run this business, it should be better you don't publish deals on your website. My experience with you has been worse than a grocery store shop. If this is the way you treat your customers, I can only imagine how you pathetic manage the international tours published on your website.

“Appalling customer service ”

We had a very bad experience with Cox and Kings following a cancellation due to an injury. The trip was a South Africa tour following by Mauritius. First and foremost they don't respond to voice messages or emails unless it is sales related. Their T&C's charge 90% of the holiday cost which in our case was 1 weeks notice. My issue was with the air passenger duty. My insurance doesn't cover this but said I could claim this back from the airline, but no Cox and Kings claim this for themselves. So the insurance won't pay it and apart from my insurance excess I am £146 out of pocket. I managed to speak to someone in authority who brushed me off with the T&C's. So the issue for me is that Cox and Kings take the position that a 90% cancellation charge is fair. What I don't accept is that they cannot recover a certain amount of the costs, in particular BA who refund if given 24 hours notice and I am sure that some of the hotels would offer refunds particularly those at the back end of the holiday. They must love people who cancel yet treat you with complete disregard. I wish I had read the reviews prior to booking as there are many comments out there complaining about their customer service and work ethos. Never again, best to avoid.

We are sorry that you aren’t satisfied with the outcome of your cancellation but we refunded you 10% of your holiday costs, as per the terms and conditions of our holidays. This totalled £1076, which includes the refund for your APD that you haven’t been able to claim from your insurer. As discussed with our sales manager, we have to pay for your flights and accommodation in advance of your holiday, and with three days’ notice of cancelling the trip, most of this cost will be non-refundable to us.

"You may cancel a reservation made on ba.com or through the British Airways call center within 24 hours of ticketing for a full refund by calling the British Airways call center at 800-AIRWAYS provided travel is one week or more from the date of purchase. The 24 hour deadline can be extended up to 48 hours if the call center is closed when you first call."

I accept your T&Cs but taking the APD is just plain greedy.

Do you not consider that a token gesture in the circumstances would have been a better approach rater than ignoring my emails and having to escalate the issue?

The APD was included in the refund we sent you, and as you booked the flights through Cox & Kings, not ba.com or their call centre, their terms and conditions are not applicable.

You cannot be seriously telling me that the BA flights terms and conditions are not valid because the BA flights were booked by your company, what utter rubbish. “Terrible advising and very bad with responding”

Gosh !!! The worst ever. I live in the US and I tried planning a vacation and these guys hardly respond. They are not empathetic and just throw some standard packages on your face without even helping you plan the trip with personalizations and stuff. I mean a travel advisor should be able to advise you . Not email you a package and make you send multiple emails and make multiple calls to ask a question. I went with Panoramic group's Travel Hot ! They were the best ! So empathetic, understanding, give you excellent advice to make your trip memorable and make sure all your questions are answered.

“EUROPEAN GLIMPSE TOUR 2016”

European glimpse 2016 is a ridiculous trip.In this trip we visited monuments in which we touch and go!!The bus didn't halt for 2 hours as promised to us.The Oman flights are ridiculous.They gave us 15 minutes for shopping and sightseeing of Pisa and Venice.The hotel Lowen and Postta 77 were like a third class hotel.The windows were broken and none of the ac's were working.you misguided us.The ac's of the bus were not working from 24 onwards All group members were sweating after paying ac transport charges to you .The goodies worth 85 euro which you promised to us it was refused by your tour manager.More over senior citizens ,sugar patient had a very hard time for want of washroom every 2 hours and ac of coach bus was not working in such hot days.The tour manager after several requests for ac bus to get it , repaired or arrange for another ac bus.She didn't responded.The food given to us by Oman airlines was of substandard qualities.Shame to cox and kings for such a wonderful arrangements. Our family gone two times with you one in May 2016 and another in June 2016.Both the trips were like a hell.so we requested all our family members, relatives and friends not to go by cox and kings.Thank you for such a wonderful trip.

“DO NOT TRAVEL WITH CNK - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ”

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE WITH COX AND KINGS – JUST A WASTE OF MONEY I had taken my family to Amhi Travelkar - Avismarniya Europe tour- 2016 organized by Cox and Kings. The booking was finalized for the 28th May 2016(to return on the 7th June 2016 tour) as many of my friends were going on the same day. 1) Based on their declared dates we had fixed our other programmes. 2) We had booked on 23rd March 2016 for the 28th May 2016 tour. 3) Suddenly they changed the dates for 29th May 2016 that too just a few days just before the tour to commence without giving any valid reasons. 4) All my friends also faced lot of hardship. 5) The flight tickets along with the hotel vouchers were given to us just minutes before our journey to Mumbai. There was no time given to verify for any errors. They had made errors earlier in the Schenghen VISA application forms. 6) All of us had requested Cox and Kings to book all of us from Goa to New Delhi to Paris as the tour was to begin from Paris only. But they were not cooperative at all. We had requested them at least a fortnight before the tickets were issued to us. We all had to spend a lot extra for to –and fro return air tickets which could have been well avoided. We had to cancel our earlier air tickets as COX and Kings changed the tour dates without informing us. They are very un-cooperative. 7) One couple who were booked for the 12th May 2016 tour was accommodated for the 28th May Tour and again changed to 29th May 2016. 8) Employed people have to take Permission( NOC) from their employers giving the dates of travel based on which the VISA is given. Cox and Kings change their tour dates to suite them putting people in lot of mental agony. 9) The ITENARY is conveniently skipped and the Hotels are not the same as in the list provided. Though some of the hotels were very luxurious and very good , at some places they are just congested and very inconvenient. 10) At some places like Interlaken, the hotel room was absolutely hopeless so was the food . When the tour manager was asked he said he has nothing to do with it. 11) The tour manager/ guide had no information of the places visited and their importance . He conviniently skipped some important places in the itinerary and was unable to explain the importance of them. He did not allow us from going into Vatican city Basilica. He even told (slyly) the local guide(who was explaining well and very enthusiastic to explain the area in Rome and Vatican) to wind up fast. Infact the tour manager was only interested in reaching restaurants and hotels to stay and least interested in showing all the people about 45 in number the places around for the entire 10 days. He left us high and dry for ourselves to wander, but gave no much time to see important places and wasted time in other places. 12) The food in some hotels was absolutely third class. Infact the entire group had to pursue the Cox and Kinds tour manager to tell the hotel manager to give simple items like Papad and curds. We had booked non- veg and payment was made for the same. But we were provided only veg food in the afternoon. When the Cox and King office was contacted they said they would look into the matter and asked for a copy of the voucher, that too was sent to them, but nothing happened till the last. 13) THE ONLY PLUS POINT WAS THE BUS DRIVER AND THE BUS. “ABSOLUTELY SUPERB” IN BRIEF: Changing tour dates without information, uncooperative, Poor hotels and food in some places. Itinerary skipped, Guide not knowing anything but excellent driver and bus. WASTE OF MONEY !!!!!. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

“Frustrating experience”

We had booked Shimla/manali via Cox & Kings and here is what we feel. Worst experience: 1. Travel buses and drivers were hopeless - AC bus was only for name sake. The buses were not comfortable at all (forget about luxury) and whole journey was moving at snail's speed 2. Tour manager- there was very little what he did, he was more of assistenace to driver 3. even for packaged drining water we have to remind tour manager multiple times 4. There was no time managmenet during tour - had dinner at 11 pm 1st day and last day. Lunch at 4 pm on last day --- really non seense stuff 5. Untill last week there was no clarity on the bus that we will be getting. Ours was on group of 14 people and we had categorically told booking persons that we would like to stay intact. However just b4 2 days, we came to know the arrangemnet is done for 12 seater buses. 2 of our mates had to travel in another bus. Would really like to discuss all these things with some senior folks in CoxNKings as we have booked this journey by looking at brand what we get is worst treatment - even street side shops do serve better than this

“pathetic service while charging premium”

Hello, Booking Details:  Package - Mesmerizing Malaysia & Singapore Tour; Departure Date - 12 February 2016 We had worst experience with Cox & Kings.We booked Malaysia-Singapore package for my parents who are senior citizens. They were taking an international trip for the first time. They are not used to exploring places on their own, so we booked cox and kings package so that they will be assisted by a tour guide at Singapore and Malaysia. But to their surprise, no tour guide was provided at Singapore! They were left stranded there. Cox and Kings had provided mobile numbers of POCs for Singapore. But none of those numbers were reachable! They did not get any guide on all the 3 days in Singapore, there was absolutely no one to guide them. When we wrote to them about this, the response we got was: "since the group size is less than 16 so as per policy there will be no tour guide and this was informed to passengers at the time of final handover". First of all you can't charge the same package rate for a trip WITH tour guide and a trip WITHOUT a tour guide, thats cheating! Secondly, we were not informed about the group size untill we reached the airport, we should have been informed beforehand that as the group size is 14 (and not 16) so there will be no guide. We could have asked for a full refund if we were given prior notice, but that was not done! Thirdly, they make you do the entire payment upfront and conveniently do major goofups like these. They cant ask for entire payment in advance without giving us entire details in advance! Cox & Kings has years of experience and its sad that they still don't know how to organize a trip with minimal dissatisfaction. Thanks to you, a group comprising mainly of senior citizens was stranded in a big city like singapore. And all this when we paid a premium for the package because of your brand name! When you dont comprise on your prices (which are way more expensive than that of other tour operators) then why do you compromise on quality? You are terrible, and I wont ever recommend Cox & Kings to anyone EVER!

“Madagascar ”

We have travelled to many places, mostly Asia and Africa, with various companies and had some incredible experiences. We usually go on intrepid style tours, so are used to very basic trips to get a real feel for a country. However, as Madagascar was more about the lemurs we decided to pay more for the luxury of 2 nightly lodges, and chose Cox & Kings as we thought they had a good reputation - mistake! This was the worst company we have ever used. The 2 nightly lodges turned mostly into 1 night ones at different lodges, we missed many places on the itinerary and the tour guide was not the slightest bit interested in telling us about the Country. On arriving at one awful lodge he actually said that it was nothing to do with him as he was just there to get us from place to place. Our luggage went missing, with no hurry to return it to us. My memories now of Madagascar are of the problems and upset that was caused, not of a lovely Country. On return C&K were just as bad and not at all interested in customer satisfaction. Would certainly never use them again, or recommend them.

We also had the same horrible experience on our trip to Madagascar in November not interested in the customer just the money. Offered £300 as a goodwill gesture against a holiday that cost £7500. Now going to ABTA and if no joy it will be the small claims court

We had problems with a few of our Madagascar departures last year due to last minute changes to the accommodation. We did all we could at the time but appreciate it wasn’t up to our usual standards.
