The Geography of Bliss is about exploring happiness from a sense of place. Does a place make people happy? What about that place makes people happy? Or is it the culture that is formed from that place generate happiness? Can you take a miserable place and make it happier? Is it an attitude? Geography? Too much sun? Not enough sun? Money? Peace? He takes them all on and in a easy to read manner addresses these questions.
He goes to Iceland, Netherlands, Qatar, India, Thailand, and other places to really figure out what happiness means; the causes and the consequences. In exploring these places and these issues, you really get to think about your definition of happiness and how you look at and navigate your world. The only bad point was it ended.
This is a must read for anyone who has thought about what it means to be happy and anyone who has a passport.
