I placed 3 orders and awaited delivery, never came, emailed customer support via the site, each time was told item was out of stock, the last order they promised a refund to my paypal account, despite numerous emails requesting this they still have not given me a rebate, the site is a shambles in my humble opinion and will never visit it again, now going to the office of fare trading about my refund. I ordered 2 T-Shirt Bras underwired instead they sent me Elbrina 495 Control Bra Control bra with lace and none wired. Absolutely nothing like what I had ordered. I sent them an email over a week ago and have not had a reply. I sent the bras back registered post and still waiting for a refund. All I have had is an email to review the items I bought. I tried to order two bras online and entered my password which wasn`t recognised?? I then tried to order as a guest to be told that this address was already in use (yes it was ME) and to click on password reminder which I did and then told that an e-mail was successfully sent to my address. I ordered before I thought to read the reviews - big mistake! My order was only 1 small item, and sat at "exported" stage, which it still sits at after 3 weeks, delivery supposed to be 3-5 working days. Its not hard to work out for myself that my order won't be fulfilled from reading previous reviews, the frustration I am left with now is daily checking of my bank transactions to ensure this company doesn't use my card details to take the money out regardless. It took 11 days for them to advise that a pifco steamer was not available. A week after I placed the order I e-mailed to say I was unable to track my order and was advised that my order was "in the process of being despatched, this it what we call the Exported stage." Bought a pair of jeans but when back at home I realised I'd picked up the wrong size. Took them back with the receipt two days later expecting an exchange. Was told that the 'new' jeans I was returning were worn? Company policy was that they 'didn't exchange second hand clothes'! I'd bought them two days before and had never worn them! Less than 3 months after buying a sofa the stitching came undone and one of the legs (that was rusty at the top) broke. I returned it and that took 6 weeks to arrange as they never seemed to be able to receive the images I sent them. Then they returned the refund to an account that was closed. I Purchase a HDD Freeview recorder from TJ Hughes on Amazon UK. Ordered it on Tue 18th December. I thought it might not arrive before Xmas. However I was wrong on the 19th, I got a text to say it would be with me on the 20th and on the 20th I got another text to tell me that it would be with me between 11.30am and 12.30pm. It arrived at 11.45am. I am absolutely delighted with their service. I wish Debenhams were as professional as Hughes, but that's another story. (read more)

I placed my first on-line order (worth almost £300) with TJHughes on 26 Nov. Following a confirmation email, no further correspondence was received until I got an email on 11 December detailing one item and acknowledging its return! I rang ahead to make sure there was a princess carriage bed in stock for my daughters birthday, I was told that there was and I arranged transport to go into the Newcastle city centre store to collect it. On 09.11.12 I bought 3 gift sets of miniature perfumes - there were 6 items shown. When I got home I realised that on the box it said the set consisted of 3 perfumes. They are actually selling 3 perfumes & 3 EMPTY boxes. Frequently they don't have items in stock even though they are still on the site. It looks like after they've taken your money, they can't be asked to keep track of what they've sold. I used a credit card to pay for some expensive items for my workplace and unfortunately lost the receipts - I needed them to claim back my money. But when I approached them they sent me from one department to another only to be told "We don't do that sorry!" We originally ordered a set of garden furniture on the 1st April 2012. No one contacted us to say when it would be delivered, we had to do all the chasing and it takes up to an hour to get through to their call centre. It finally arrived - damaged. Possibly the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I ordered a item on the 20th April, on the 27th I contacted them asking for an update on delivery they ignored my request! This bed is a load of rubbish and fell to bits within two months, the centre bar is just not strong enough to support the bed. the aftercare service from T.J Hughes is dreadfull, Ive sent loads of emails and a recorded delivery letter. The Glasgow branch is correct in refusing the refund. You bought your heater under "TJ Hughes Ltd" trading as TJ Hughes. You gave that company (TJ Hughes Ltd) your money for it. You cant return it a year later to a different company and expect a refund. Lewis' Home Retail Ltd (who now trade as TJ Hughes after buying the rights to the TJ Hughes brand name during TJ Hughes Ltd's administration period) cant give you money back for a heater when you did not pay them for the heater. Its basically like returning the heater to a completely different store. Its unfair that youre calling the staff losers as they are only doing their job.

We bought this my little boy for xmas only to find out that it is so out of date that it is not compatable with flash nor can it be upgraded. Simple things like youtube and cbeebies site are not usable. I tried to order a bed last night. I got an error message saying my card details were incorrect. I tried again and got the same message. I tried to pay via paypal and got the same message... This morning at 8am I got a phone call from my banks fraud investigation team saying that 6 payments of £224 had been attempted and approved and was this correct, I told them all about it and they immediately cancelled the payments. exactly the same thing happened to me.
I treid three times to order a bed online, was also told my card details were incorrect so i phoned my bnk and they told me 3 payments of £205 had been taken. i rang TJ hughes and it took me 5 phonecalls to get through to someone, who also told me it was ME who had done it wrong.
Bed wasnt delievered within 14 days so again it took me 4 times to ring through to an advisor. The day the bed was delivered they just delievered the frame and no mattress, and the delivery man had no explanation but tried to make my friend sign for TWO parcels when only one was delivered. Mattress was delivered the next day.
Tried to complain on website but no reply even though the website states a complaint will be replied to in 24 hours.

Had I done so I wouldn't have ordered as overall ratings are so bad. However, I had absolutely no problems whatsoever. However one was ripped with white filler coming out the neck of the garment and the other still had a large security tag attached which i had no mean of removing. I ordered a perfume from them as a Xmas present, via Amazon. When I opened it on Sunday I realised it was the wrong one they had sent. In the box was a note saying any problems phone them direct at customer services, I did and they promised they would do an exchange urgently. End of day 4 no communication, no email or delivery/exchange, so tomorrow a.m. going to phone again. This is the only company in the last 3 years that I have had a problem with on Amazon and I have ordered dozens of items. Can do without the hassle that's for sure!
