I am furious that Trading Standards have allowed the sale of this Product, it constantly every 20 seconds keeps snapping off, but I would not mind that so much, if it actually trimmed the edge of my lawn, all it did was cut into my lawn with lacerations, I WARN ANYONE THINKING OFF BUYING THIS DEVICE TO think again, pay a little extra for one, it will work out much cheaper in the end, I would not spit on Gardenline products, they are a con, and I was taken for a mug! Where ever I can I am... (read more)

Gardenline GVM 600; the biggest load of junk I've ever bought. Belt snapped within an hour of first using it. Anyway, found a company called Motion Industries, based in Lancashire, who supplied me two replacement belts for £16, inc P+P. I had the Gardenline working again within two days :-). The belts must be better quality as I've used it for hours now without a problem. (read more)

I would agree with most people does seem the belt is a bit suspect to say the least, I did however find a company called Bearing Boys who sell spare ones for £2.50 each so not a big outlay and at this cost you can afford to go through a couple (read more)

Like all the rest my GVM 600 broke a belt and although the machine appears to be well constructed it has an obvious week link, the belt. We need a more substantial belt. (read more)

I was delighted whien my neighbour offered me a lend of her scarifier machine....a Gardenline GVM 600.......1 1/2 hr later it is broken! Now I'm looking for a replacement part for her as a token gesture...but struggling a little.
Note to self, dont borrow other peoples stuff. If they are rubbish quality and brake with you, you look like an egit!
Dont buy one of these! (and please dont lend them to unsuspecting friends either)

I bought two Gardenline GVM-600 Scarifiers (one as a present for my brother--we no longer speak!!!). Each broke a belt after 15 mins. Reading one of the reviews in this site I contacted a company on 02380578057 who were very helpful and I have now bought 4 replacement belts for £22--delivery tomorrow. Despite usually being an Aldi "fan" I found them particularly unhelpful regarding this problem. (read more)

I've had the same broken belt problem with my GVM-600 scarifier. Have just spoken to a Mail order supplier on: 023 8057 8057 who was very helpful and is supplying me with a pack of 2 replacement belts for £12.99 inc p&p. She tells me that these new belts will be with me tomorrow morning and are much stronger (she would wouldn't she....?) than the original Chinese version. Time will tell.....!! This company also supplies the spring loaded tines. (read more)

unfortunately I bought Gardenline (Aldi) GVM-600 and yes the belt snapped within 2 hours of use . It is quite disgusting that after so many complaints the manufacturer still will not accept that there is a design fault with this machine . I am still trying to get a replacement belt . I have not been able to use mine for over a year . (read more)

As reported by other people the belt on the GVM-600 snapped the second time ever used. The so called "helpline" took 20 mins to answer and then gave me a wrong link to the wolfe.tv website. The belt is not covered under the warantee and it seems as if according to other folks reviews I'd better buy at least half a dozen! DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. (read more)

Got this Gardenline GVM-600 from Aldi and the belt lasted 4-5 hours maximum even if not overworking machine. Their 3 year guarantee is by OmegaWolf and they say such failure is normal wear & tear and they refuse to say otherwise. Could try small claims court but cannot spare the hassle. I will just never knowingly buy a product if OmegaWolf handle the guarantee nor will I buy direct from them. (read more)
