“Southern Rail are Rubbish”

Southern and GTR just continue to plumb new depths. Everything they do is a lie. They lie about when the trains are due, they lie about the number of carraiges and which platform. They lie about trains that do not even exist. The management and staff should all be sacked and start again, it could only be an improvement. “A disgrace”

Simply the worse rail service in London. Constant delays and cancellations. Constant excuses. Thomas the tank engine - the actual toy - could run a railway better than these clowns. “utterly appaling”

I travel with them every day into London Bridge and I have absolutely nothing positive to say. The staff are clearly demotivated and surly, never having a clue as to what is going on. The service itself seems unable to cope with rain. Within 20mins of a downpour the entire network seems to run into problems. The number of trackside electrical faults is a regular feature of the service. Lately they appear to have failed to empty enough people to drive their trains. “SOUTHERN - the only way DOWN!”

I seldom have to make trips to Eastbourne but on every single occasion I have had the arduous task of taking the train there, Southern railway NEVER FAIL to let me down. There has never been ONE moment when my train has arrived on time: minimum wait time at least 5 mins guaranteed. Today it arrived 14 mins late! Surprised? Not anymore. I only have a small commute from Horsham to Gatwick and return . I have no option but to use Southern . Most days there are cancellations, delays . It's driving me to want to leave my job so I never have to use Southern again . Last night I left work at 16.30 and got home at just before 18;00. Why are they still in operation . “Southern -Delayed-or-Cancelled Rail”

A company with intransigent management at war with its staff, rolling stock and customers is the optimal state to run an unreliable service, Southern (delayed and or cancelled) Rail demonstrable just doesn't care how bad its customer experiences are. “Rude staff, overcrowded, constant delays”

Southerns Trains treat passengers with complete and utter contempt. Ticket staff, conductors and guards are either rude or incompetent or both. Standard class is constantly overcrowded yet seats in first class remain empty. Trains never arrive on time, are cancelled at the last minute, and are horrendously filthy. This is so true! Terrible service. I can't believe the government is allowing this to continue. My train is constantly late and what bugs me more is the attitude of the staff and lack of information as well as last minute cancellations. Something has to be done. London should be ashamed of this service.

I went to work during both strikes and yeah, hardly noticed the difference from so-called normal days: trains were overcrowded and subject to delays and cancellations at the last minute. Business as usual!

“Worst. Service. Ever.”

Where do I start with Southern Railways? I live in Seaford and go to college in Lewes. Unfortunately I have to use Southern because there's no bus from my town. Southern rail is constantly delayed, services cancelled throughout the day. In the past 3 weeks alone I have missed an average of about 6 days of college because of this awful service. “Commuting”

I have been using Southern Trains for 9 years. the service has got steadily worse. The number of cancellations is phenomenal. Victoria trains around 5pm out of Portsmouth are cancelled 2/3 times a week. Yesterday evening all the Victoria and Brighton trains were cancelled. 

Staff don't even bother now to say why. SW Trains are clearly getting fed up with having to convey Southern passengers as far as Havant. Feels now like the whole franchise is in meltdown.

“Appalling service from a horrendous company ”

This train company is without doubt the most incompetent service provider I have ever experienced. Some examples :Constant delays and cancellations, not enough drivers, lack of information and a total disregard for its paying customers. The almost constant shutdown of the Brighton section at the weekends due to engineering work is a disgrace. I don't even commute from London, short journeys home along the coast are always subject to cancellations, ridiculous delays at a shockingly consistent rate, not to mention the ghastly prices they charge us and the staff are horrendous (I would use another word but it would be deemed innappopriate) they actually feel like an evil dictator, I have no choice but to use this service and it needs to be replaced very soon, they keep making promises that don't happen and the service is getting worse… Read Full Review

“Rude Staff, Very Overpriced, Absolutely Appalling Service”

I am absolutely disgusted with Southern Rail. I feel so sorry for anyone who is not lucky enough to have an alternate to Southern Rail. I am horrified at the fact that Southern Rail put their prices up every year yet this is the service they provide. Absolutely disgusting trains.
