These people just give you the runaround and do not mean anything they say!!!!!!! They took two payments from my account for one trip and sent two lots of tickets. I returned the tickets as they were useless, and invalid because I used my rail pass to book them. One month later I am still trying to get my money returned, I have received a letter to tell me they do not refund advance tickets!!. What?. “Unreliable, expensive, rude and deliberately obstructive”

Train service poor (for a 4 month period I never arrived ontime. No exaggeration - not once!) Since then, they've changed the timetables to run less trains and give themselves longer. They're still always late (4 days out of 5 last week) Customer service shocking. They double billed my partner and tried to blame her (when it could not possibly be anyone but then), their replacement ticket service is a nightmare (once you answer the 300 questions, they don't actually send a ticket anyway)… Read Full Review

“Where to begin”

Southern have to be the worst service on earth. Southern trains are dirty,delayed,old,slow and for the most part motionless. I've actually used a service which has a planned 5 minute delay between stops in London. I often wonder which child invented that timetable, it makes no sense and southern should be ashamed. The arrival boards are always wrong. You never know if what time your service will arrive due to this. “Add lack of parking to the rest of the rubbish service”

In addition to the truly awful train service they provide they have also failed to provide enough parking. I had to travel from Three Bridges to London Bridge a while back and the car park was full. i recently took the train from Brighton to London Victoria having booked a standard ticket.I was shocked when the ticket inspector told me i was in the first class section and would have to pay a £28 FINE PLUS THE FIRST-CLASS TICKET OF £28.There was no leeway on this and a no of people in the carriage were also similarly fined including some students who could not afford the fine.Not being a resident in the SE,i could see little difference between the 1st and 2nd class sections and they are… Read Full Review

“Bad service”

Ongoing problems with services over a number of years at my local station including: 1. Ticket machines often faulty or not working 2. Ticket offices closed when advertised as being open 3. Station toilets often closed for repair and usually dirty or flooded 4. This is the worst train service I have ever experienced. Unfortunately I have to use it daily to get to work. Their list of excuses is just rotated, "earlier broken down train" "signalling problems" "person on track" "missing train crew", the list goes on, none of them are believable. “Always excuses ”

This is the worst service I have ever used in my life. Continous delays and excuses, they cannot cope with anything. I go out of my way to not get southern trains and walk an extra 10 minutes to worcester park station instead of cheam, to get South west trains. Awful to say the least!!!!! The only good thing about them is their trains (sometimes) are nice and new, but that's on the VERY rare occassion I can bring myself to go on their service… Read Full Review

Southern Rail, why oh why is every. Single. Train. That I need to get delayed or cancelled? I am not exaggerating. The London bridge train from streatham and Norbury that only comes 2 or 3 times an hour is cancelled meaning I have to wait 20/30mins for another. Or its delayed by 10 mins meaning I will miss my connection onwards. You actually make me depressed.. and I'm paying about £35 a week for this luxury! Abysmal.
