“Hotel lovely but quite dirty which is a pity”

We stayed for 2 nights. When we arrived our room was dusty on most of the surfaces. When we went to breakfast the cutlery and crockery were filthy and we had to get them changed. Tables were wobbly, so bad in fact that I ended up spilling 2 glasses of orange juice all over the table onto my breakfast and the floor. “Need to review booking for infants”

Recently booked a 1 night stay at a property in Brean, The Old Rectory. I Filled out the requested information for 2 adults and 4 children and duly completed the children's ages, the youngest being 1. The perfect place came up with a family room big enough for the 6 of us to include a cot. WE have always found it best to call the hotel directly as only they can answer your questions. There is no need to be bounced from "customer service rep to customer service rep" as usually all they do is read from a script when answering questions. “Beware of unprocessed cancellation refunds”

I am frequent traveler that has used Booking.com dozens of times (Genius level). Before this incident, I highly recommended this site to my friends (5/5). However because of my recent frustrating experience, I will be looking at other hotel booking sites. 4 months ago I booked a hotel on Booking.com, then cancelled 2 weeks later. “10% "Genius Discount" is fake”

Been travelling with booking.com worldwide for a few years now. Have so many bookings that supposedly I get a 10% "booking Genius" discount as they call it. Just compared the price with normal account, and its actually 3% discount, not 10% as stated. That's just shameless marketing. Hello,

The Genius rate is available only for certain rooms at specific properties. A Genius property might have rooms that are not offered at the special rate, and if you’ve booked one of these, you won’t get the Genius discount. Also if you made the reservation without being signed in, you might have missed out on the Genius rates. If you’re not seeing the Genius icons during the reservation process, it’s a sign that you might be missing out on the discount. Once you pick a property, the rooms that have Genius rates will be clearly labelled with the Genius logo. Remember, not all rooms have the Genius discount. If you’ve chosen the Genius rate for the room you’re booking, this information will be displayed all through the booking process and on your confirmation email as well. I hope I have addressed your concern.

Basic Hotel, location is good but the rooms were nowhere near you see in the pictures in booking.com. First of all with no carpets in -2 degrees, you would never get up late at night. “White Hart Inn, Bouth, Cumbria (South Lakeland)”

Spent a couple of nights there recently. It's a typical quaint and quirky country village inn with lots of character. I think it has 5 guest rooms. Our party of 4 occupied 2 doubles: No 3 & No 5 both en-suite with low beams and sloping ceilings (mind you don't bang your head!) The meals were generally good, but you might want to avoid what the menu refers to as scampi thermidor if you don't want to be disappointed. “Staff not courteous ”

I stayed in Golden Court Hotel two days ago. Below is my whole experience throughout my stay. Slow draining toilet, the aircond doesn't function manually, had to climb up to switch it on. The indian lady at reception who took care the morning shift wasnt courteous at all, not even a smile on her face, when I and my husband were having breakfast, seems like she was picking up fight with a bangladeshi guy. “Quiet economy hotel ”

Although the hotel is not fine accommodations, the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The man carried my bags upstairs, the only time anyone even offered in our 13 day trip. The next morning, he even led us to the road we needed to find out of town. The walk along the river is very pleasant and there are many restaurants in town and one located just next door. We have been to hotel before and booked 2 suites as the pictures and word described them as elegant decor,and on photos looked lovely., also described as ground or first floor. “Okay for just me”

When I stayed here it was just me, so only needed a small room. I was out all day and most of each night as well. Clean and tidy, and housekeeping came through each day to take out rubbish etc. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Myself and my wife were staying in Haus Nelly in Austria for couple of days. The lady-owner was rude with full of prejudice with regards to other nations especially from Eastern Europe. AH IT IS COMMON. I HAVE BEEN TWICE TRICKED BY GETTING THE MOST UNIMAGINABLE HOTELS POSSIBLE. ONE OF THEM WAS IN THE WRONG TOWN EVEN! BOOKING.COM NEVER GAVE ME THE RIGHT TO REVIEW MY SUPERB EXPERIENCES WITH THEIR INCREDIBLY FAULTY SEARCH ENGINE!

Stayed at the Manor Hotel Datchet, small room, tired decoration, bed was nice and comfortable, bathroom and shower very good. “beautiful but sterile”

This hotel is a beautiful old converted farmhouse in a very quiet setting outside Bruges. In the description online it says there is a bus stop within 100 metres, which may be true, but the buses stopped running in 2007! It also refers to the gardens which are indeed pretty, but by English standards they are manicured and colourless, without a flower in sight. Even the trees are cut neatly. “My Credit Card Was Charged!!!”

I have been using Booking.com for years and I had no problems but unfortunately something changed a week ago. I was trying to make a reservation in Istanbul, and the reservation policy of my room requires no deposit to be made and I will pay when I arrive. While Booking.com requires a valid credit card to make a booking, unless clearly indicate prior to booking, Booking.com does not charge guests (a booking fee or process payment). All details are forwarded to the property, who should charge within the policy booked, although properties do reserve the right to preauthorize a provided credit card.
