The place we booked was given 5 stars. I feel generous giving it 2 1/2 stars. It was clean and had a good location but we were given a room on the third floor and there was no elevator. My husband is 77 years old and I am almost 70. Nowhere were we warned that we would have to carry our suitcases up those flights of stairs. Myself and my wife were staying in Haus Nelly in Austria for couple of days. The lady-owner was rude with full of prejudice with regards to other nations especially from Eastern Europe. AH IT IS COMMON. I HAVE BEEN TWICE TRICKED BY GETTING THE MOST UNIMAGINABLE HOTELS POSSIBLE. ONE OF THEM WAS IN THE WRONG TOWN EVEN! BOOKING.COM NEVER GAVE ME THE RIGHT TO REVIEW MY SUPERB EXPERIENCES WITH THEIR INCREDIBLY FAULTY SEARCH ENGINE!

Stayed at the Manor Hotel Datchet, small room, tired decoration, bed was nice and comfortable, bathroom and shower very good. Restaurant Give it a miss, waited 10 mins for someone to appear, served us the wrong wine, when we said it was wrong told they did not have the one we wanted and just brought one of there choosing, which was not even on there wine list then tried to charge us £5.00 more than the one we wanted. “beautiful but sterile”

This hotel is a beautiful old converted farmhouse in a very quiet setting outside Bruges. In the description online it says there is a bus stop within 100 metres, which may be true, but the buses stopped running in 2007! It also refers to the gardens which are indeed pretty, but by English standards they are manicured and colourless, without a flower in sight. Even the trees are cut neatly. “My Credit Card Was Charged!!!”

I have been using Booking.com for years and I had no problems but unfortunately something changed a week ago. I was trying to make a reservation in Istanbul, and the reservation policy of my room requires no deposit to be made and I will pay when I arrive. I am sorry to hear about this.
While Booking.com requires a valid credit card to make a booking, unless clearly indicate prior to booking, Booking.com does not charge guests (a booking fee or process payment). All details are forwarded to the property, who should charge within the policy booked, although properties do reserve the right to preauthorize a provided credit card. Booked a hotel in Amsterdam which included the city tax for €368, one of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because of the inclusive city tax. Upon emailing booking.com they then stated city tax isn't included to which I replied with a copy of my confirmation email confirming city tax is included. “Friendly Desk help”

I stayed at Tiab House Hotel in Dokki, Cairo for 4 nights, April 2014. it was a temporary short stay due to lack of cash, having moved from another hotel close by as the Tiab was alot cheaper. Amazing. I 'm flabbergasted!

I wrote a review about my experience in Bakung Sari Resort and Spa (Kuta/ Bali) but mine review was negative.

Reservation Number:587962187

There was missing 50 Euro out of my suitcase after when my room was cleaned. The manager had no time to talk to us. ( he was having lunch)
It also happend in December with a Russian couple. (120 dollars)
But Booking.com only placed my review with; " There are no comments available for this review"

I know that Booking.com lies about he rooms availabilities, it was on Ducth TV and in many newspapers.
But this is really amazing!

Towels: they smell not fresh and not clean. When it was our last day we were short 120$ from our purse that was in the bag with clothes. So be careful with money in this hotel!

“Cancellation Charge Warning”

The choice of hotels was good but there should be more clarity regarding cancellation fees. Although booking.com use the card details solely to reserve the room it was not until confirmation that it was clear that there was a very steep cancellation charge and that the whole of the cost of the booking would be taken immediately. Quite cross that you didn't say I'd be paying a 100 pound security deposit until after I had confirmed the booking. I understand that I get it back, however I had seen a cheaper quote on Holiday Letting UK site that specified the deposit and went with your site instead as it didn't say anything about taking an extra (equivalent of) $162.
