I booked a room and then cancelled it the same within the cancellation policy. The room was able to be cancelled and the hotel refuses to refund my credit. Booking.com could not convince the hotel to refund the money even thought they displayed the room as being able to cancel on their website. “Money Hoarding”

I booked online using bookings.com and I have never been more sorry. The first 2 times it went well and it was not until my third booking that it all became a painful experience. I cancelled one of my bookings that offered free cancellation so the payment of more than $1000 dollars should have been credited back to my account. Instead nothing happened. IVE BEEN LET DOWN TWICE!We used for our honeymoon in Florence 2015. When we arrived at our villa, they double booked us so we had to stay in another hotel. We just booked a holiday to Spain and booked my parents in the same hotel as us. We booked this 3 months ago. At short notice they told us they double booked the hotel, AGAIN! Booking.com takes no responsibility for inaccurate hotel information which they promote, that can compromise the comfort and safety of it's clients. I recently booked and stayed at a hotel that was rated as "2 stars" by booking.com and promoted as "deal of the day" by booking.com. I booked a hotel room through booking.com. A few hours later, I found the same room, same days, etc. on Expedia for $50 a night less. I called booking.com and the woman I spoked to confirmed that yes, Expedia is a lot less. I've been a long time user of booking.com, probably booked more than 100 bookings through them within the 7-8 years I've been with them. Lately user experience is decreasing. They're really pushing it too hard with all those urgency and "trust" elements on the site. To top it off they recently started hiding the possibility to sort by reviews in order to show their "top picks" first, which just means the hotel is paying more to them to be shown first. I booked three non-smoking rooms through Booking.com, when we arrived only 1 of the bedrooms was non smoking. When we tried to get moved to non-smoking rooms we were told they didn't have any available rooms at which time I called Booking.com. I booked an apartment through booking.com which had free cancellation. I cancelled the booking within the timescales but did not receive a refund. I took 2 months to get a refund and 5 different Booking.com agents who didn't speak to each other. We made a reservation, then tried to get a refund because of a medical emergency. They were supposed to be trying to refund my money, then cancelled the reservation and did not refund my money. I spent 2 hours on the phone and spoke to five different people. I was not even able to let a family member use the room since they cancelled it. Worst Experience Ever!! We made a reservation through Booking.com where we read that no money need at this time just reserve the room. I found a deal on Groupon for a Las Vegas hotel which routed me to booking.com. I went through the steps and completed my booking only to receive a confirmation email that specified my hotel stay does not include any of the offers that the deal originally said it included. We booked Hotel Pennsylvania in Manhattan, NYC for three nights. When we checked in we discovered there was no heating in the hotel. We traveled with 2 kids and with 9C outside it was freezing in the hotel room. We called Booking.com and were told that they are not responsible for the conditions in the hotel.
