Yes, I made a mistake. I overslept and was in a rush to get to the airport in Las Vegas and left an expensive coat in my room. My phone was dying so I had my roommate call the hotel. We had to cancel a room because of the snowstorm on the east coast. The agent we spoke with was in Mexico. He acted like he knew nothing about the snow and refused to refund our money. We went round and round with him and was put on hold 3 times for 5 minutes each in a 30 minute conversation. We had to get another agent on the phone because of being put on hold so much. place was filthy, counters were dirty, shower wasn't clean or just stained dirty, bed spreads, both of them had big burn holes in them, carpets are old and gross, tv, well there were 14 channels, wifi doesn't work, had to use the hotspot on my phone, when we first came in we had to keep the door open to get rid of the strong pot smell in the room, toilet would not flush. I recently used this website to book a hotel in London. I received the confirmation email which according to them was all I needed to ensure I had the booking. One week later I received an email telling me they had cancelled the booking due to a pricing error on their part! They told me the Hotel wouldn't honour the price/booking but when I contacted the Hotel direct they said it was down to booking.com not them. If you ever go to Cambridge, please stay away from this apartment which is advertised on Booking.com. Ageeesive, rude man who said he was the owner met us. We had waited 50 mins for his arrival. When we commented on wait , he became agressive and told us we could always find somewhere else to stay! I called booking.com to enquire about their price match guarantee as I saw the same accomodation they were advertising on another site for almost half the price. The guy I spoke to was just rude and disinterested from the start. That was my first experience with booking.com and will definitely be my last. I wanted to share my recent misadventures with booking.com so that the same thing does not happen to you. I booked a hotel for Marseille in October 2015. While on a trip to europe ny wife decided to change a booking. She called Customer Support (from Austria no local number - cost over $100 in phone call fees). The request was to cancel two nights in Munich and and add two nights to a stay in Salzburg Austria. “Beware! The "Total Price" is not the total price! ”

When you book on booking.com, it displays the "Total Price" at the end. It says, "The "Total price" shown above is what you will pay the accommodation property. We don't add reservation fees or any other charges." That's a lie! They will add credit card fees, however, to find out what these fees are, you need to go to the website of the hotel you are booking and read their fine print. 1- the so called lower price guarantee is in fact the same price you get when you call direct 2- you are charged if you cancel less than 3 days before whereas most hotels don't even have that policy. And it doesn't warn you All it says is that you don t get charged until you get there!!!! 3- if you have a problem nobody ever calls you back you are left with endless calls to make that you pay roaming for! I've never been so disappointed in a hotel experience. This hotel staff and management almost ruined my trip to the beautiful island of Florianopolis. I flew 6,500 miles from Los Angeles to come to Floripa and stay in a 5-star resort. Haha, 5-stars. Well here's the story. Booking the reservation was ok, but we were traveling with friends and they wanted their own room. Booking only showed one room left so they had to go somewhere else. I WOULD RECOMMEND PEOPLE CALL THE MOTELS DIRECTLY. When we got there,we were told to cancel and change our reservation we would have to talk directly to booking.com.
