We bought our table and six chairs as well as our Billy Bar stools in good faith. They arrived in around 7 weeks as expected. Looking great. Sadly the lamination on the top is separating. The company tell me this is an expansion gap and is perfectly natural but I wasn't expecting this and I think it looks unsightly The company says this is normal and are dismissive of my concerns. Please be prepared for cracks to appear. They aren't pretty, arent nice and they have lifted edges. We used Osmo Poyx-Oil as soon as the table arrived as arrived and do not use furniture polish nor do we leave the table wet. We now have to pay a French Polisher to try to salvage our purchase. Please take this into account. I wish I had known this before I made my purchase. A note with the product when you buy it about cracking is not, in my opinion, sufficient because it did not lead me to expect this to happen. I wish I had known this before I made my purchase. I am very pleased our Piano didn't crack up or our kitchen cabinets. They say this is normal! For their products maybe but they purport to sell quality products and I really didn't expect to be left with a table with such unsightly 'expansion gaps' in it. Shame really.

I bought a bench with back rest and it arrived on time but without any instructions inside. Nevertheless, with the help of 2 friends, we managed to assemble it without any trouble. To our dismay, the backrest has been cut straight and rigid. When we sat on the bench we all felt pushed forward rather than comfortably being seated and not able to lean back. In the end we had to remove it and use only the bench part. I am very disappointed for the poor product value and advise everyone against buying this. Impossible to call as the line is always busy.

To say that I am disappointed with the service is a understatement . A few days after placing the order and paying I received a email saying i would be contacted to arrange a suitable delivery time ( I work long hours and nights so being able to speak to someone to arrange a time sounded good) Quote from the email reads' We aim to deliver all orders within 15 business days (assuming your chosen items are in stock) and will notify you by telephone of a weekday delivery, at this point you will be asked a few basic questions on your delivery location and access so as our drivers arrive with all the necessary information to be able to make a successful and safe delivery. Your delivery will be made between the hours of 7am and 3pm' I was not however and was sent a non negotiable email telling me it would be delivered on a certain day between the hours of 8 and 6pm and wouldnt recieve a telephone call. This wasnt what i was expecting however at great inconvenience I managed to get the day off to accept the delivery. After waiting in ALL day and checking the tracking service to see it was 'out on delivery' I still hadnt received this by 6pm and have had no courtesy call from the company... Certainly wouldnt order from them again!!

We ordered a table and 2 chairs 6 weeks ago for a product that said it was in stock. We then received an email stating they had just sold the last one when we placed the order and that delivery would be a couple of weeks. Subsequent emails have told us they are waiting for the boat to dock and it will be a week to ten days, we have heard this 3 times now and are on the verge of cancelling the order.

Hi, After looking into this further we can see from the photo in one of your emails that what you describe as 'lamination separating' and ' cracking is in fact a natural join in some real wood veneer that has moved by less than 1mm ( this is a tiny natural wood join ) which is perfectly normal and acceptable for such a large extending table. Natural wood will move slightly within the dry warm air of a UK home as it adjusts to the different humidity. You will struggle to find such a large extending table made of natural wood that doesn't have any form of expansion in some joints. We are 100% happy with the size of the minor expansion gaps on your table which are acceptable to well over 99% of our past customers. Maybe you should visit the UK leader Oak Furniture Land and look closely at some of the tops on their tables or cabinets to see expansion gaps at least 2 - 3 times larger than what you have on your table. Their solid oak table tops start off with much larger expansion gaps to allow the section of oak to move freely to stop any cracks from happening when they adjust to different humidity in a UK home. If you had of asked for a refund within 14 days of purchase we would have happily refunded your purchase in full and we will not swap the table now because any replacement will show the same minor gaps of less than 1mm within a few months of purchase which is perfectly normal and in no way a fault in a natural wood piece of furniture. A French polisher will also not offer a long term resolution to your concerns as they cannot bond a natural join in the wood to stop it moving slightly in the future as the wood moves naturally. We suggest that you apply a good coat of wax such as Mylands light brown which should make these minor joins from being visible to the naked eye unless you are zooming in very close with a camera lens. The soft wax will flex with the natural movement of the table unlike a hard polish which will crack over time. I'm sorry that we haven't met your high expectations on this occasions with the oak table but appreciate the positive feedback that you are very happy with the billy bar stools that you purchased from us.
