The Philips DVD-723 is an old DVD player, which came to me recently from a friend. I am amazed at the picture quality and brilliance of colors. It plays all my VCD and MP3 discs too. Smooth design.
There is the occasional skip of scratched VCD's, but that's OK I guess for a 3 year old player. I'd love to get DivX playback, but then no complains... After all this is a 3 year old product.
I love this thing. People... Go and buy Philips DVD players... They must make more of these I guess.

I've had no problems at all with this player, and it looks good too. Play's all VCD's ive tried and mp3 cds. Great Value although Ive Had a little trouble finding compatable DVD-R discs but thats about it.

The Philips DVD 723 is a really good DVD player, superb quality, Plays anything i wanted to do at any bitrate. DVD+RW DVD+R, S-VCD and all the other standards, the player looks very nice.
If you are doing some presentation you don't really need the remote control because of the buttons it has on front (play/pause) (prev/next +search) (smart picture, to change color settings)
Slimline player very nice!
