Weston super Mare pier 19th April 2013. I saw Chubby in Blackpool 20 years ago and it was absolutely brilliant. I was hoping the gig at Weston would be as good but the evening was ruined by terrible sound system. It was really hard work trying to hear what he was saying which ruined the evening, and a lot of the jokes were lost on me. It's not the volume but the clarity. I emailed Weston pier and they told me it is Chubby's own sound crew that are responsible and that they had done sound... (read more)

“CHUBBY DOES THURROCK.......”

The show will start at 7.30pm promptly we were told.......well the warm-uo act/band started then and played for 25 minutes.....Chubby came out to the usual chants of 'You Fat Bas***d'.....and that was as good as it got. Chubby talking of the 1950's and asking th audience if they remembered them.......OF COURSE NOT!! Hang up the flying goggles Chubby......The Fockers have flown!!! Save your money and go for a curry £20 for a ticket and home for 10pm..... (read more)

A rubbish warm up band that lasted 30 minutes and then Chubby Brown was only on for less than an hour. A waste of 22 quid. A few of the jokes were very funny but most just got an awkward laugh and some were met with utter silence. The show was topped off with him stripping down to his g string which shows how desperate the whole act had become at that point. He even started songs and forgot the words half way through and had to resort back to quick one liners at which point convenient... (read more)

Very poor overall. Sound system was awful and Chubby's set was very disjointed. Just kept rambling and totally lost audience who got bored. Only on for 1hr 10 mins. Still got some great stuff but padded out with a lot of tosh. Either this was an off night or he should hang up his boots. (read more)

In case you haven't ever seen the great Roy Chubby Brown, you don't know what a fantastic nights entertainment you are missing. Roy is one of the "Old School" of comedians, but he's also still one of the very best there is. Come on BEEB or ITV, let's get some of the man on TV now eh? If Jonathan Ross can say what he says on TV, why can't Chubbs say it? I pay my licence fee for what I want to watch and I want ROY CHUBBY BROWN on TV NOW. (read more)

“It was as though he didn't want be at the Armadillo...”

It was as though he didn't want be at the Armadillo Glasgow . He had a few one liners that was funny. But that was about it. He got heckled a couple of times and ended up walking off stage after 4 mins. Not the chubby I know! Total waste of money in everyones eyes that went. Will only perform for DVDS so he is a con. will never buy any of his dvds again. (read more)
