We arrived at hotel Dino in Lake Maggiorie for a 4 night stay (advertised on Travelzoo) and were told that our room had not been paid for and that they were owed alot of money from Hotelsbooked/Holidaysbooked.com. We argued on the telephone (at great cost) with them on and off for 3 hours before they agreed to pay for our room by credit card and we were then given our key !!!!!! Had one of our best ever holidays in Madeira courtesy of Hotelsbooked via Groupon. Everything went like clockwork. Hotelsbooked politely answered every query we had and took the trouble to contact our hotel with additional requests. The hotel, Calheta Bay, was excellent. We were on half board...and that was all that was necessary because the food was gut-bustingly good and hugely plentiful! “They don't deliver”

From my experience, their policy is "if we don't write it into your travel document then you don't get it" even when it's part of the package. We asked them repeatedly to correct the document they sent us, each time they sent us back a document with the incorrect details and that was all we got in the end. We complained, they said they'd review and reply within 28 days. They didn't. How can you ensure they will write into your document what you have booked and paid for? Answer: you... (read more)

Watchout for the misselling!!
The price you see is not the price you get. I paid for the whole trip and 2 days later I got asked for £150 extra for exactly the same itinerary. Supposedly they waited too long to book the flights and the price went up..So they decided to throw the cost incurred for their admin inefficiency at me.
They even had the audacity to threaten if I don't pay up I will forfeit everything I paid. At the end, I had to move the travel dates to offset some of my cost....

booked a 7 night holiday to the 5 Star Enotel Lido through Hotelsbooked not only did I get a great bargain £399 Half Board, but i had all my paperwork witihn 24hours of booking.
There were no nasty surprises, no additional add ons, everything was detailed in the Ad, unlike all the other companies on Travelzoo who hide all the extra charges.
Great service, great price, great Hotelsbooked, I will use them again as they have the best prices and the best staff, Many thanks Mrs Davies.

I found this review very helpful because...I too booked the same holiday for myself and hubby in February 11. We had a fantastic 7 day break.Everything was organised and exactly what we were told. Transfers excellant.Hotel excellant.Staff excellant. Service excellant. Food excellant. Couldnt fault it. I recommend Hotelsbooked.com ten out of ten.

The holiday was advertised with Dealcheckers - must admit a little dubious at first after reading reports about Hotelsbook.com but our experience was totally different to most of the other reviews. Melanie dealt with our booking and everything was as she said and our details came through in a couple of days. Our holiday was perfect and we got the service she said we would.
Please dont be put off by the negative reviews.

Last month we also saw an offer from Travelzoo for a four day holiday in Italy with a 4 Star Hotel etc. The offer was made by hotelsbooked.com We are yet to go on our holiday next month and are dreading as to what will happen next. Hotelsbooked.com have not only made catalogue of errors from the begining such as sending us wrong tickets, misspeling of name and more to the point taking extra money from our credit card especially as the total amount of the holiday was confirmed several times on the telephone. They do not reply to the emails unless you threaten them but now they are suppoedly checking the telephone call conversation for the past two weeks without refunding £20.60 which we have proved to them to be incorrect.
So guys - WATCH OUT for them. We wish we knew about thier conduct before booking.

My confirmation email from them made no mention of the car hire, even though it was costed in the price. "administrative error" was the reply, but despite repeated requests I never got an itemised invoice that showed I'd paid for car hire. When my Car voucher wasn't sent, I called again, and again and again, eventually getting the voucher just before travel. We agree with the review on The Costa Azul Hotel, in Ballestrate, Sicily. The hotel was clean with a lovely pool area and the staff were pleasant enough, with the exception of the owner who was extremely unfriendly, and never spoke to any of the British visitors during our week's holiday. The hotel is not well placed for exploring the surrounding area - some guests in desperation hired a car. Booked a week's holiday half board in Ballestrate, Sicily in an "alleged" 4* hotel named AZUL. The clean hotel was nearly new and the staff were pleasant.
However, it is in the middle of nowhere with no bus service into the town which is some two kilometres away. The roadway is hilly and dangerious to walk on as there are no pavements. If you walk along the beach it is not safe and is strewn with litter and tipped rubbish. In fact the whole area is just surrounded by overfilled skips and...

Do NOT use Hotelsbooked.com-misrepresentation/poor quality info of location/hotel, non-existent customer service, failure to reply to e-mails and phone calls par for the course. We came home early (cost extra via Ryanair of course) from a Sicily hotel -Baglio Basile - which was in the middle of nowhere and catered for big functions (weddings/conferences) sidelining the solo tourists. Absolutely awful, hotelbooked didn't send us confirmation till less that 24 houtrs before travelling. And that was after countless calls from us. The holiday was hugely misrepresented, hotel was awful and location was unbelievably bad. Be aware of this tour operator. (read more)

Booked holiday to Sicily via Travelzoo offer - excellent value. Flight with Ryanair (arrived early!), tranfer to hotel awaiting our arrival and return also, with excellent trips during our stay. Hotel 4 star (bear in mind Sicily is quite dilapidated in places) - pristine condition, great pool, good food, etc. We definitely felt we got good value for the money paid. I saw a holiday to Madiera last year and booked it through Hotels booked, they added taxes which were unsubstaniated. They have a different quote depending on which rep you are talking to at the time. They booked only one bag per booking and didn't even mention this people had to pay extra charges at the airport. Absolutely awful company to deal with, there is a woman who keeps calling you Maam and seem to be accustomed to making excuses and trying to make you seem wrong when you are right. (read more)

I have traveled a great deal throughout the world in recent years and Hotelsbooked.com is by far the worst operators I've had to deal with. Here is what they did:
1. After I made the booking I inquired about the "free upgrade for the first 50 booked". A staff member from Hotelsbooked.com said they were special rooms in the hotel just for Hotelsbooked.com customers. When I contacted the hotel, there was no upgrade and certainly no special rooms just for their customers.

I have phoned them so many times as well with them telling me they will phone me back and never have. I booked a holiay in Madeira with Hotelsbooked.com a week before departure and was charged an extra £40 'fuel supplement' durng the booking process. Their website blurb stated free daily transport to Funchal so we did not book car hire. On arrival there was no free transport available but, on checking, the hotel agreed that they should be providing it 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri), leaving at 9.00am. Do not book with this firm and definately DO NOT PAY any airport taxes direct with them opt to pay at the airport, you never have to. What happens to the money--- who knows. We cancelled through our own fault so no gripes their, if you have to do the same read the cancelation terms although they do not keep to them anyway. We found a cheap holiday deal through travelzoo with Hotelsbooked.com.
Comparing the price of the flights and hotel we saved about £200.
But, thats about as good it got. During the payment process I was asked if I wanted to pay the £30P/P tax now I said no and would pay it at the airport, we never had to pay it at the airport so what would hotelsbooked done with it? The next two weeks were spent chasing them for the confirmation, when we finally received it we spend the next couple of days...

A company that does not pride itself on customer service in my experience. Having paid for the Holiday as requested and told by Hotelsbooked it would be in two transactions which it was although I did not check the amounts as I received an email from them stating paid in full. Some two months later I received an unsigned letter stating part of the balance had been refused and requesting payment.

Hotelsbooked.com changed their company policy and decided to ring up the day before the holiday to tell us this. The new policy meant that the second payment had to come out of a different account. We gave them these details and then promptly lost them. We were rang on holiday accused of not paying and then they took money out of the first account we gave them and fined us for this.
