“Customer service on the phone”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hernandez303 on 21/06/2014

Rude on the phone when I called just now to enquire about a table for six for Saturday. It would have been nice if the person who answered could have been polite and said Im very sorry we are fully booked instead of just NO !!!!! what a rude person. Take some customer service training and learn how to talk to people who want to come and eat @ your restaurant.

Every Christmas we have the same old question "Where shall we go for our office Christmas Night Out??" and every year they all choose to go back to the Waterfront. The food is excellent, with pleanty off choice to suit everyone, the service is very good with everything arriving together and hot. Most of us return during the year taking repective partners and guests, but hurry up Xmas, can't wait.

we are just back from the waterfront two fantastic meals for under £60 with a bottle of good wine 1st time there and we have booked up to go again in two weeks time I have eaten at many fine resturants and this rates amoung the best I just find it hard to beleve the cost, our meals would have cost nearer £100 any where else the only draw back if there is one is lack of parking but then again it is well worth that inconvienience, give it a go you wont be disappointed.

Such an improvement on the decor, it really makes this venue a lovely place to eat with friends or a romantic dinner for two. Great food, good service, good atmosphere too.

We have been to The Waterfront a few times now - only found it at the beginning of the season! Delicious food and such lovely fish and seafood.
Have taken a few friends and I believe they have all been back.
Would say that it could do with a lick of paint internally - but I suppose on the other hand this could be part of the "feel" of the place. Reminds us of a Portuguese Taverna at the end of a busy summer!
Highly recommend it.

I have been to the Waterfront a number of times know in the past 4 years. We usually go on a Thursday evening as they do a Paella evening. Last time I went it was £12 for two & you get a huge dish full of different seafoods & meat- delicious!!! They also do jugs of sangria which is lovely on a summers eve as you can sit outside with lovely views of the sea. I am going again this evening & can't wait!

The Waterfront, Kessingland is a very attractive and intimate restaurant with views of the sea. The menu is varied and good value (more so for an evening meal when you can take your time to enjoy generous helpings of all the courses.) The dishes are clearly homemade and good quality ingredients are used. The fish dishes were fresh and fabulous - with my hard-to-please other half stating that it was the best meal out he had had in a very long time.
The staff were helpful - particularly when faced with a vegan to feed without prior notice. (Plenty of veggie food but cheesy and the pasta was egg pasta...) It is always the mark of a good chef if a one-off dish can be created on request and the mushroom and asparagus risotto was superb! And it was much better and more thought out that the staple stir fry usually offered at such times.
There was no sense of being rushed through the meal (though this may be different at the height of the season when booking is apparently a must) and all four of us could not speak highly enough of our meals.

Kessingland is a fairly bog standard run of the mill seaside village with a large caravan park. It would be easy to walk by the Waterfront on the way to the pub and think it was just another cafe type place at the seaside. But it is not. It is a super little restaurant worth travelling to for great food, good value and helpful staff.
