Thought this would be the same as Marks & Spencer sales. The clothes look like they were stored under a mattress. The quality is extremely poor. You have to pay to return items. As it is Marks and Spencer you would expect a high level of service. You cannot return in-store. The packing slip or receipt note has no price on it so you are not even sure if they have charged you the correct amount. (read more)

Ordered a suit for my son, wanted it quickly so paid extra for a quick delivery. Trousers of suit came badly marked and therefore unwearable. Suit came in a large box, and cost nearly £13.00 to return to Amazon at the cheapest Post Office rate - Disgusting!! I couldn't return this any other way, and I really wish I'd found these reviews first because I wouldn't have bothered. I ordered a top and when it arrived it was at least 2 sizes too big, badly crushed and unwearable. I went through the procedure to return it, posted it of and waited....and waited...and waited. That was in November, it is now March, still no refund. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE, IF THE ITEM IS NOT RIGHT YOU RISK NOT SEEING YOUR MONEY AGAIN! (read more)

I received my Dinner Suit yesterday that I had ordered from M&S. The jacket was perfect however the trousers were the incorrect size, they had sent a different size than what I ordered. Therefore, their fault. I have been told to return the item, at my expense and inconvenience, await refund which will be 7-10 days, then re order the same item I ordered originally! “Paying for returns”

I was caught out by M&S Outlet - it did not make it clear at point of purchase that one has to pay to return a product that did not suit. Beware before you buy!!You cannot take it back to M&S stores which I only found out when I tried to do this. Yes it doess say this on the VERY small print on the invoice. “Prices keep increasing”

I've recently been buying items from the Marks & Spencer Outlet on the internet. Initially,prices seemed really cheap - Slippers for £4.40, Leggings for £4, Cropped white jeans for £6 etc etc. Suddenly, the prices have increased. The slippers are now £10.50, the leggings are £7.50 & the cropped jeans are £12.50. How can items go up by over 100%???? I'm not at all happy about this. How can they justify these price increases when they're in the so called 'Clearance' Section??? (read more)

i ordered something online and paid £3.50 for delivery whicj i was ment to receive in 2 days but got it like a 10 days late when i called m and s they said we can to anything plus the item was defective and had to pay again for return terrible wont be shopping again... take my advise instead of spending £6 to £7 on delivery you better get an item from debenhams... love debenhams esspecially when sale is on free delivery over £30 and free printed lables along with for returns.. “Online Shopping a Nightmare”

Out of five orders made over the last 6 weeks (July-August 2012), my husband and I have had problems with 4 of them. The first order (suit trousers) were the wrong size, another order (suit jacket and trousers) contained completely the wrong jacket and a third order (a casual jacket) was also the wrong size. during a weekend visit to doncaster i visited the doncaster outlet. i purchased a coat for my daughter. as she wasnt with me i made a point of asking about returns and asked if i could return it to any m&s store, as i live in scotland and there is no outlet store near me,i was told i could return it to any store. the coat didn't fit and when i tried to return it to a store they refused to take the return because it was purchased at an outlet. i am absolutely infuriated as i would never have... The staff was very helpful and I enjoyed shopping over there.. Only thing I can say is that you have to look around to find your size.. Shop was organised nicely and it was not too busy as I went on weekday.. Normally weekend it is quite busy. Bought some excellent bargains. The main reason for my comment is that my daughter was taken ill whilst walking around. The staff hunted for me (we had become separated), sat my daughter with their first aider, provided water and were very helpful. Actually rang the next day to see if she felt better! this store was a completely new experience for me as i usually only shop in high street stores, i thought the layout was nice and bright with brilliant access to all departments off the main walk way, and it was clean! brilliant for the size of the store and the lack of staff present there.
I picked some bras from a well stocked area which surprised me beause i can never normally find my size and went to try them was given a free bra fitting service by a young girl called becky which was fab...

Have been to severeal M & S outlook stores but the one in Denton is by far
the best I have ever visited
Some resemble a jumble sale which I have been told have more clearance stock but the one in Denton is clean and tidy and the staff have always been friendly, it also has a coffee shop which is great after a morning shopping
I always visit when I am in the area and would certainly recommend a visit

I have been to several M & S Outlet Stores and always find them excellent value. I moved to Lincolnshire 3 months ago and was pleased to find one in Spalding. This store is clean, light, well set out and a good size. The staff are very obliging, as are all the M & S staff I have had dealings with over years in many stores. (read more)

I bought some Slippers from M&S in Swindon, they spit after 3 months the Manager Alison was rude and would not replace them they cost £18 new. They only replace them if they are 2 or 3 weeks old absolutely awful service. (read more)

I have found the new Marks and Spencers Factory Outlet at Clacton on Sea, Essex to be excellent for quality and price and the staff very friendly and helpful, the store layout very good with adequate space to move around and plenty of choice and it has been a great asset to the shopping centre we are regular visitors to the factory outlet. Purchased many items and never found a fault with any of them.
Everything clearly displayed.

M&S have recently made the PONTYPRIDD stores in south wales an Outlet Store...I used to spend a load of money there when it was a primary store but since they have made it into an outlet the clothes look like a jumble sale collection...where you can spend hours in there looking through all the overfilled and messed up isles and unco-ordinated items...It's a great shame as this was the only GOOD store left in the Town. At Marks and Spencer Factory Outlet I experienced good customer service and very friendly staff. Clean floors and fitting rooms. Good lighting. Displays seemed dated and looked cheap. Slightly overfilled. Nothing fitted in together. Stock didn't compliment each other in my opinion. (read more)

Are people aware that the Outlets only started 10 years ago and were set out only to break even and not to make any profits! there original plan was sell excess stock from the high street they now have over 60 stores throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, the heads of the business have now begun to realise the importance of the Outlet sector and are pushing more money into the them and bringing them up to date with the current M&S standards that everyday customers expect from them.
Most of their stock is 2-3 years behind the current trends but as a whole they also sell their stock no matter the price! The outlets are a fundamental part of the business now and deserve more credit than they actually receive! So what their stores might not look as fantastic as the rest but they offer quality service and prices you won't find anywhere on the web also it's difficult to fit everything together when they receive parts of the ranges from the high street!

Agree 100% with this reviewer. i ordered for the first time on m&S outlet, thinking it is M&S online order which i have done several times. no where did it say u cant return in store. out of 7 items, 2 were inappropriate sizes. a medium 12 cardigan was like a sz 16 and a 11-12 yr jumper wasnt fitting at the arms of my 9 yr old. no receipt with the order so keep guessing how much you paid after discount. no return labels. they expect everyone to have printers and self serve. plus u pay for postage twice-once to order in and once to send out. whats the point of offering these bogus sales if u make the process of ordering so tedious? emailed them and they give a standard answer sorry those our our terms and conditions which u signed upto when u ordered on the site. totally misleading the customer. one goes by brand name and the goodwill they had. Shame on you M&S for cheating your loyal customers. stick to the store orders where u can try on before u buy and return conveniently. This model they are trying will not last long!!
