“yamaha outboard corrosion and failure”

My yamaha outboard blew up the other day. extensive corrosions what I was told. Told me that it was not flushed out after use. This is quiet simply false. Never one time did I not flush this motor. I also ran salt away thru the engine periodically. Motor always had a noise but every time I went to my dealer they said they heard nothing. This went on for 800 hours of boat use. Be aware that my 5 year warranty is in effect during this time. Well they never diagnose the problem and now 6 months after warrantees have expired I have a useless engine. Never should have taken 5 year warranty. Had an option of 1000 dollars off price of motor. Do yourself a favor and look at some other brands

““Warranty” means I have to wait ”

Purchased my boat this year with a 115 yamaha four stroke. After 25 hours, noticed an oil leak. Turns out the casting was faulty and I need a new block. Yamaha has told me that Yamaha will not replace motor but will replace the block; but, get this, I have to wait until late September before replacement block is available. Goodbye summer of 2018. The service dealer has done all he can. The yamaha policy of no new motor even when replacement parts are not reasonably available is garbage. I will buy a Honda next time.

“Terrible Yamaha four stroke outboard”

I bought 2 Yamaha F115 four stroke outboard motors October 2013. One motor exploded while driving last month. Full service history and maintenanee with the dealer "Alyousuf Abu Dhabi ". Motors done only 375 hours. They neither accepted responsibility for the corrupt motor nor the Yamaha corporation. Terrible company and dealer

“Quiet while trolling nice top end and excellent trolling ”

While at dock my buddy ask if I had it running. Quiet while trolling and runs top end good and quiet. Very please.

“SERVICE NOT THAT GOOD WOULDNT STAND BEHIND WARRENTY”

PURCHASED A 115HP 4 STROKE. USED MOTOR 2 MONTHS ON THE 3RD DAY OUT IT STARTED SQUEALING. THIS WENT ON AND OFF FOR A WHILE. TOOK TO A CERTIFIED YAMAHA REPAIR SHOP. REP TOLD ME HE HAD A MENO ABOUT THE TIMING BELT DOING THIS AND IT WOULD GO AWAY AS IT GOT BROKE IN. PUT BOAT UP FOR WINTER. SPRING CAME HAD BOAT SERVICED AND STARTED TO USE SQUEALING CAME BACK AND CONTINUED TO GET WORST. CALLED YAMAHA TALKED TO A LOVELY MAN WHO TURNED INTO A A%&. TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS THE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING. THAT EITHER NOT ENOUGHT GREASEHAD BEEN USED OR THE GREASE THEY USED WAS TO LIGHT AND A MEMO HAD BE SENT OUT TO USE A HEAVIER GREASE ON IT. THEN HE TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE 5 YEAR WARRENTY I BROUGHT. COMPARED THE OUTBOARD MOTOR TO A SET OF CAR BREAKS. STILL DONT SEE THE RELATIONSHIP. BOAT HAS LESS THAN 100 HOURS ON IT HE AMITTED THEY USED SUBPAR OR NOT ENOUGH GREASE ON IT BUT IT GONE TO GET FIXED OUT OF MY POCKET. HE REFUSED TO LET ME SPEAK TO HIS SUPERVISOR TOLD ME THAT IS THE WAY IS WAS AND HUNG UP. HAD ALWAYS HEARD YAMAHA STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS BUT I NOT SEEING IT HERE. I THINK TTHE MOTOR IS GOOD I WOULD BE TICKLED TO DEATH WITH IT BUT THE SERVICE AND THE ATTITUDE OF THE REP IS SORRY

I bought a F90 new on g3 boat it's starting to remind me of the new Force engine I purchased in 1998 on a Fisher boat it lasted about 2 mos. I broke this motor in with the owners manual in my hand. The motor is making oil after about 5 hrs of use. Iwished I would have done my homework it seems to be a major problem with these motors. I'm sure It's going to be my fault when I say something about it. Not to happy only had 3 mos.
