Willy Russell, Educating Rita is a great play and I have just read it after being leant it by a relative who has studied it for AS levels. We were both in complete shock that the examining boards have managed to select a book that will actually appeal and interest to younger people! It really is a play that will captivate readers across a broad spectrum of age groups. This book certainly appealed to me and it did to the students reading it according to my relative! Great use of humour in the play and the issues are both relevant and realistic. A fine play to be enjoyed by the masses.
