It was short, and I only paid a small amount for it were the only good points! This read alike a synopsis, or a badly edited, abridged version. So much detail was missing it could have been a novice author. It failed to draw me at any level and since it was sci-fi it could not be worse. I am left with the feeling that the publishers insisted on a conclusion to previous stories and the author wrote it under sufference. A disappointment on every level. (read more)

I found this book by the pool and thought it might be a fun read. I was wrong! I felt like tossing it in the water when I finished. The only good thing I can say is that at least I didn't waste any money on it. (read more)

Compared to other Patterson works,... (read more)

James Patterson, The Lake House - I haven't read When the Wind Blows but soon started to enjoy this and thought the story was coming together nicely. However, it soon deteriorated and became just silly. Not enought detail and everyone got out of each of the situations far too easily. Even the death of one of the main characters was skimmed over. I felt the author was trying to get to the end as quickly as possible. (read more)

The lake house is a much anticipated sequel to that of 'When the wind blows' arguably Patterson's best. This book is full of ups and downs and once started, is unputadownable to the highest degree. The only questions at the end is:
<br> What next? Another awe inspiring novel with the gifted children who can fly. Or have this brief series been grounded?
