“UPC review”

Upc is terrible! I would never recommend it to any one. After I pause a program it constantly freezes. When I change Chanel or want to go to guide or dvr it takes for ever! Especially on demand that takes much longer. UPC am have really good deals but trust me it is definitely not worth it! Before I got UPC I had sky I wish I had never changed to UPC! (read more)

“customer service”

When moving home I had to make about 15 phone calls and almost each time the person gave me a different story / different plan, as to how they proposed to do this job. In the end when I finally moved, they didn't show up on the planned day and they didn't call. They also didn't seek to bring the hardware from the old home but luckily I had already done that. Their workmanship was appaling, the wall box is hanging off not properly secured and the two cable connections are sprawled out... (read more)

I can understand your comments although mine are about their h d box so far i have had 2 and I think by Monday it will be 3 thats if the eng??? brings one. So far I have lost ALL my recordings i don't know how many times. and lately it won't record 2 channels at the same time even though the set was on standby,,, when the eng ??? called to check He said that it happens and left,, I got a txt afew days later asking would I recomend U P C and said a DEFINITE NO telling them what the Eng.??? said there only responce was to offer me free H D for the rest of the year and now the box is gone again and i have to wait 4 days for someone to call Sorry I did,nt go back to Sky...But re. ther Broadband I have no complaints about it It gives full power on Ethere BILL

“fake fake fake!”

since almost 2 years i am using upc, since then, called tech support maybe 15 times, almost every months, no service. they upgraded my speed to 25 MB, but guess what i receive, usually around 7 or 8 MB. today i tested again, 0, 38 MB within 1 hour of tsting. i am tired of it, so tired. i feel ripped off, paying for a service i do not get. calling tech support, what they do is changing my network name all the time, saying its been fixed now. a month later, same issue, next change of name.... i fully agree with this post have been with upc for 3 years i am on 50mb speeds only getting 20 sometimes lower routher reboots itself i being on to upc more thang 50 times no word of a lie they gave me a new routher got the full speeds maybe 2 days out of 7 i get kicked from xbox alot becase my speeds just drop to anyone looking at upc i would say stay well clear it would break your heart haveing to call them everyday.

Same here - switched to UPC as Eircom was averaging 6 - 7mb but UPC - (supposed to be 50mb) is no better. Customer service response is abysmal. I would suggest report / complain to the Regulator as UPC are not customer focused!

Let's start with "why UPC broadband?" Because Eircom is such a rip-off. Poor service at high prices. Line rental, slow (nominal and practical) speeds, costumer care(lessness) , etc. What alternative you have? UpC. Promises high speeds at good prices, sounds good isn't it? Well... it's good when... it works. Upc built an infrastructure in ireland - expecting ...something. Good business , big money probably. But they were not prepared for what came. “Why didn't I go with SKY!!??? Big regrets.”

I previously had Sky+ in the UK but when I moved to Dublin I decided I would try UPC. I have had UPC now for 2 long weeks and I am counting the weeks until I can get out of the contract and go back to SKY. First of all, the actual digital TV system feels like an 80s version of Sky plus. It's slow, unresponsive and takes forever to move between channels. “I've been using UPC (fka NTL) for my phone, broadband...”

I've been using UPC (fka NTL) for my phone, broadband and digital TV for a while now. I was reticent about signing up because they did previously have awful customer service. That's changed in my experience and the service I have now is excellent and great value. Recently they gave me a free upgrade from 5MB to 15MB broadband. I routinely test the speed I get in the real world and it's not much different from what they advertise.

I have been a user of "old" ntl and now upc services over many years. Previously I would certainly have been giving zero or 1 stars at best for all of the items above, the customer service was simply awful, equipment was cheapest, buggy and slowest on the market.

However, in the last 18 months I have had reason to have significant dealings with UPC for both broadband and digital tv. I have found their services to have improved imeasurabely with customer service being the single largest... (read more)

find UPC very good, customer support is far better than anyone else I ahve dealt with. Speed upgrades etc at no extra cost are all a good thing. But compared to any other ISP I have dealt with these are what I would consider the best. I am sure other people may have bad experiences but my has been far better than I was expecting and even exceeding what I was expecting. (read more)

I have never encountered a media company quite like UPC Ireland. Customer service doesn't care, and you will wait at least 10-20 minutes on hold every time. If you choose to ask for a call back they will do so...within 3 working days!

And on to the services...

Their Internet service is fairly reliable and moderately priced. That is the reason I gave them a 1 and not a 0.

The digital + TV service is state of the art...for 1992. No VOD (video on demand), archaic functionality of the... (read more)

Woeful customer/sales services. Watch out if you ever have to unsubscribe from packages as they will charge you 10 euros for each package that you leave - regardless how long you've been a customer. Also will not tell you how you're bills will be calculated thereafter (assume you'll be charged another month at least!) - I would not recommended UPC Ireland at all. (read more)

“Personally do not like the website ”

Personally do not like the website
I have not yet been able to reach customer care even when waiting for over 20 mins
Broadband speed is less than half of what I though I was going to receive
Contention ratio is too great for me.
I do not recommend UPC Ireland, way too expensive for me as they do not deliver the service I wanted to pay for. (read more)
