You can find other good media players instead of installing WMP on your PC/laptops. Many years ago, when microsoft was still popular among people, I used WMP to play my movies and music files. I thought it was the best until recently when I can't play some video files with special codecs. That's the time that I have to search the net to find other alternatives. I found VLC and GOM to be the best on media players.
I guess the only advantage of WMP over VLC or GOM is its design/skin, nothing else.
