I loved the stories in this book. Maeve Binchy has such a clever insight into human nature. The characters in 'By the time we get to Clifden' are so exactly like a couple I know that I laughed to myself when reading it. However, when I read the last one 'Golden Willow' I couldn't help thinking how very similar the plot and characters were to those in Fay Weldon's short story 'Weekend'. I wonder if any other reader has noticed the same. i didn't need to study the book before making my purchase. The name Maeve Binchy is enough to make me buy!

bought the book on the way to Italy, imagine my surprise when the day after reading about Padre Pio I saw the sign for the shrine dedicated to him .Of course I visited and obtained a brochure ,would Maeve Binchy like it ? Loved Heart and Soul and looking forward to the next one.
