I find santander on line service not that good. However on 2 occasions this week I visited Fulham branch to sort out a transfer and help someone open new account. I have been with Santander for a long time now and have always been really pleased with the service received in the Borehamwood branch. The staff at this branch are always happy to help and on my most recent visit a member of their staff  was exceptional in customer service and resolved all the issues. Booked an appointment at the Braintree branch for 1400hrs on 18/07/17.At the front desk just over aweek ago.turned up at 1350.Was told to take a seat.Ten minites later we were informed they had no record of our appointment.WASTE of a day.quite frightening can not get the basics right… Read Full Review

All my family members bank with Santander and recently my Grandparents, aged 70, went into Santander to request them to take care of a bank transfer for them in order to purchase a car. The cashier took the paperwork, inputted a sort code and account number on to the screen, and then turned the screen and asked my Grandparents to confirm the details were correct. “Shocking service”

I have banked with Santander for over 8 years now and up until now I have had no problems other than ridiculous charges for overdrafts, unpaid DD etc. which to be fair, partly my own fault. However when you have a large sum of money due in (£15000) which would sort your financial situation out and stop the charges you would think your bank would help you out but they haven't. I can't bear to go into the details of the horrendous problems I had tyring to get a deposit paid form my 123 account for a car. “No help from Santander spain”

I am in Tenerife and had my wallet stolen with all my cash and cards. I went to a Santander branch in los Gigantes for help and was told they were not Santander uk so no help available. “going back was a mistake”

Both myself and my partner made the mistake of going back to santander. Our internet banking went down and mine is still down after a week. (but thats technology anyway) However we went into the branch where they were unfriendly and unhelpful and told us to ring up, we did and was told there is nothing wrong and basically called us liers saying we must be putting the wtrong password in. “Do not get house insurance ”

Do not get house insurance with Santander, they are one of the most expensive and they do not want to pay out when you put a claim in. There customer services is awful they have messed me about terrible keep saying they are dealing with my complaint but nothing happens. I moved house and ran in to problems immediately when using my bank card as I was repeatedly rejected when attempting to purchase anything for home delivery, being told my card was not registered to my address. Tried to have money transferred from Bank of America ( across the street in West Roxbury). Can't do this transaction per representative. Spoke to condescending manager same result. Just got off the phone with the customer services and it striked me how polite and helpful they are! Also, I have known someone to have had their card stolen before while they were abroad and the company was very quick to resolve the issue, despite the inconvenience of being in another country. “Handling fraud issues”

If your bank account has been fraudulently used, Santander won't call you and just take the money off your account. Customer service doesn't want to know. When my partner was in Ireland he had a dinner in a restaurant and paid his dinner by debit card. To our dismay a amount of £1800.00 was taken off the account on top of the one dinner. I opened an account with York Federal Savings over 15 years ago. Through several acquisitions, I ended up with Santander. York Federal was a pleasure to do business. Santander has been difficult to deal with since day one. “The Building Society trying to be a BANK!”

I have a 123 account, a credit card and a Business Account. My extended family has a further 9 accounts. Tried to conduct a business transaction today and despite being the only person at the counter, the operator refused to deal with my request. Was introduced to a very rude Service Manager therefore, enough nonsense has been had with this bank throughout the year.
