“online help?”

hi, just opened my online account and got stuck right away. Password doesnt match, I submit resend over and over again but no password is being sent. “Online but can't set up payments online without mobile...”

Been with the Santander for a number of years now with no problems. However, we have now set up a joint online account and are having problems. You now have to have a mobile phone to set up payments etc (a text message is sent to your mobile during this process). Its supposed to be online banking not phone banking. I don't have a mobile so am having to go into a branch to do all the setting up etc. I'm not impressed. Phoned the help line and the first person I spoke to hung up on me before we… Read Full Review

Santander is a large bank so they have many clients and this is they way they treat you, if this bank doesn´t really need you. The looks of the employees apparently is more important then their competence, difficult questions - which are not that difficult are being treated as annoying. They destroy your credit score behind your back and without your consent I read all their information on their website then decided to try them by opening a 'FREE CURRENT ACCOUNT' with no credit/overdraft required. 4 reviews 1.0 star rating 1/5/16 I was a customer with Sovereign Bank for 8 years and stayed during the switch. I have 3 accounts there which will all be closed by the end of the week. I just moved 3 weeks ago and wrote a check to my new landlord for $2800. The check showed that it cleared on my online banking yesterday with a positive balance of $236.76 as of last night. “The Worst Bank on the High Street”

I didn't choose to be with Santander I ended up with them after they took over the Alliance and Leicester. My first problems occurred when on business in the USA and they decided to block my card meaning I couldn't pay my hotel bill (note I had put a large one off payment into my account before leaving to cover the hotel costs. Santander is the worst bank I have ever been with. Since having the account I have had nothing but problems. Taking money out of my account that I had been waiting weeks for when you ring their customer services they are rude to you, speak as of your something on the bottom of their hoe and put the phone down on you. Worst bank. Worst customer service ever. Very rude immature manager at Dewsbury branch. Wouldn't know how to work with business if her life depended on it. Poor customer relations. Only started receiving anything from them at all when I got the ombudsman involved. Still haven't replied to my MP who wrote to them three months ago and has chased them up herself. ..the mystery director! Doesnt ever reply to his customers! Diabolical service. “DONT WASTE YOUR TIME”

I applied for a mortgage on 12 Aug, the mortgage was approved and rejected after the valuation on 20 Aug. Santander have said that they will only go with what the surveyor says. The reason stated for rejection was that the property is not good for marketing – god know what that means!!! The property is situated 10 minutes walk from the city of London. I wasted my time! “Trying to get balance”

I have to say that the Mortgage side of Santander is fairly good. However do not touch their Loans! I am trying to pay mine off only to discover that they put any overpayment in an abeyance account and so when you ask for settlement they ignore this overpayment amount. To remedy this you have to let them alter the final payment date and then they can not tell you exactly how much the last payment will be! They have "lost" over £15,000 of my son's money but they say they are sure they will find it within 20 days & told me not to worry! “CLOSING ACCOUNT ASAP”

I can not explain how bad this bank is! I deposited cash and checks and my money still wasn't available to me when I needed it. They held my money from me just to charge me fees when I wrote a check and they cleared that ASAP from my account. I made sure I had enough money to cover all checks and they play games. I tried opening a joint account with my wife. We received 8 letters between us containing 10 different passwords. Once on line you have t change these and then if you want to use common passwords and identification with your partner (as it is a joint account)it simply does not let you. I have had house insurance with santander since 2013. In march 2014 my auto renew came from santander and was £329, I went online and with santander I could get for £129 (which i ordered on the 19th March- on the 21st March they took £329 for auto renewal too) So I did it online and rang and cancelled the other insurance.
