I gave Twilight the benefit of the doubt the first time I watched it. If I was a 13 year old then I would probably love this film but to be honest I felt that the overacting was taken straight from a Jane Austen novel, all heaving chests and pouty lips. I watched it a second time with my boyfriend last night and he ended up fast forwarding through huge chunks of the film (the leaping through the trees, the dull build up to the fight between Edward and James amongst others). I have not read the book (my friend says she enjoyed it) so have no idea how close the film adapation is. I ended up spending most of the film wondering how a small town in America manages to have such a diverse and multicultural society that accepts pretty much everyone straight away...and why the make-up department couldn't afford to white up the boys necks.

After reading all four of the Twilight Saga Books, which includes; New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, I was very excited to experience the first film of the four. I first heard all the news of a film coming out from friends and on YouTube watched the very first trailer. Anxious to see, I waited until the December and saw on the first day shown in cinemas.
Twilight started off very slow and stuck to book very well. I enjoyed watching the chemistry between leading actor Robert Pattinson and act ...- Read PicturesOfYou5's review (290 words and 2 comments)

I found Twilight quite boring if I'm honest. It had been hyped up so much that I thought I should check it out, to see what everyone was talking about.
I love Vampire type movies and books, but this film didn't really do it for me. i found the storyline quite slow paced, and the action scenes (the few that were there) to be quite slow as well.
The underlying love story really took over the whole film, so I suppose that would appeal to the younger teenage audience.
Would i recommend this mov ...- Read Taylott's review (128 words)

What a trite little film. There have been a plethora of vampire films and TV series, some have been good and some bad, this falls into the latter category. That's a personal opinion of course, I personally didn't like the authors take on the vampire myth, i found the standard human / vampire love tangle just boring, been done to death, try to be original please. I guess if you are the average teenage girl then you will possibly love it but I found 'Twilight' boring.
If you want to see a good ...- Read ryoden's review (108 words)

I had great expectations for twilight. It enjoyed quite a good degree of hype, so I thought what the hell and bought the twilight dvd.
The problem I have with this film is that the plot is so poorly constructed. Yes, it's a vamp love story but please, let's have a decent sub plot.
That said, I like the way it was shot and there was a couple of action scenes that kept me reasonably entertained.- Read nintendonut's review (76 words)

This romantic story, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, has Robert Pattinson, 22, and Kristen Stewart, 18, as the lead roles: not much could've gone wrong. Kristen Stewart fits the character of the clumsy and ever so slightly idiotic Isabella perfectly. She makes her vulnerable and strong at the same time. Former Potterer Robert Pattinson has transformed from the modest and popular Cedric Diggory to the self-loathing and tormented Edward Cullen. Pattinson looks born the play the undead and althoug ...- Read CharMckO's review (360 words)

The acting in Twilight wasn't a problem. There was a lot of things that were either left out or changed in the movie and there was some stuff that was added that wasn't necessary. The part where Bella finds out that Edward is a vampire and where he shows her how he looks in the sunlight doesn't happen in the same way that it does in the movie. Jacob and Bella don't see each other until her trip to the rez and in the movie they meet right when she gets there. And most importantly, the movie doe ...- Read Guest's review (114 words)

I think Twilight was brilliant adaptation of the book. The actors really portray the characters in the book. The scenes are filmed very well. The actors are very characteristic and portray their part very well. The film is not the same as the book and the alterations aren't brilliant.- Read Guest's review (49 words)

Twilight is the best romance novel or movie i've ever read or seen. it's not love at first sight but there is that electric current that goes between them when they touch they love each and it causes all types of pain to be away from each other. in plain words it's the truest of all true loves- Read Guest's review (122 words)

1)Too long
2)Not worth paying much to see
3)Unlikeable heroine
4)The amount of makeup the character Edward Cullen wears is distracting, he wears more than the main lady
5)The actors are rather monotonous
6)The lines are corny and cliched
7)It was very predictable which while is normally embraced in romantic comedies and horrors, does not work here
8)The end is confusing

Let me start by saying I know that adaptations can be difficult. The story had such potential, the adaptation failed miserably. Key elements were skipped over and the story that played out on screen isn't a fraction close to the story in the book. Edward and Bella's blossoming love through time spent together was lost somewhere along the way...maybe in the trees. The key elements that I missed the most was Edwards glorious meadow and the trip that lead them there. The amazing struggle he faced i ...- Read cynthia74's review (398 words)
