yea its a good laptop but doesnt come without its problems. i have had it now for about 3 years and its worked great ( most of the time ). Over the years things have slowly started to break down and its come to the time to buy a new one, the disk drive has broke so it wont read anything, the webcam broke years ago, the battery life is awful, the main button doesnt take long to break after using it alot. Altogether its lasted me well but i would have liked it to last me maybe a bit longer. (read more)

I ve had this laptop for nearly two years now and all I can say that it is absolutely fantastic in every way. The only thing I can fault it for is the battery life (i do have it plugged in all day at work , which prob caused the short life span) The specifications are incredible for the price 4gb ram,2ghz processor 15.4" widescreen and 320gb for '535. its great for almost everything but a weakness is the graphics card and it is a integrated Intel GMA x3100 so its not the best for playing games but it can run most games with ease not the modern games like call of duty i would recommend this laptop to anyone (read more)

I have had the Advent 5411 for over 1 year now, and I have only had two minor problems. The touchpad used to have a mind of it's own, but that was fixed by turning it on and off again. It seems to have permanently fixed now though! The only other bad thing is it's AMAZING glossy lid. It gets a scratch every time you put it down. Other than that, I have had no problems, and it was amazing value for money! £350 for 4gb RAM, 320GB HDD, A core 2 duo, AND a very good disk drive! It even has very... (read more)

owned for a few years now,not for you if your gaming or going to mobile. but i only use at home and its a great bit of kit. quick resposive shortcut keys work cant knock it for home photos surfing ect. (read more)

I,m writing this on my 5411 and its a great laptop, its been abroad with me , works great.Its also my first laptop, I dont handle it with kid gloves and its very robust, my daughter got an emachine less than 4 weeks and the screen cracked after a little tap!
The overall use of the 5411 is easy, i have used mine every day for hours at a time and no problems at all. I would buy another 1 and could easily recommend it

This laptop looks like a steal - an affordable price with pretty much everything you could need for basic day to day use. However, you will quickly find that there is no such thing as a "no strings attached" deal:
- It comes with Vista - some of the hardware operates using drivers that are only compatible with Vista so you can't install any other operating system (such as the much more reliable XP) on it.
- After extended use it becomes VERY hot - the touch pad becomes too hot to touch!

I bought this laptop from PC world, and at first was amazed at the spec for the price, however I had to return it due to a faulty disc drive, the build quality was terrible. The drive was at first very loose, and eventually fell out after, a week. The integrated graphics card is very week, and the vista score for that is 1.0, everything else is fine. Start up time is also a bit slow but I suppose that's just vista. To conclude, I think you are better off putting in another £50 something... (read more)

Although the spec is fantastic for the price the advent 5411 has a common problem, the touch pad is S**T, it moves on its own, it clicks on its own and the tech guys at PC world are clueless to say the least, Im a malware removal expert and have tried all sorts to solve this problem and basically there is not one, not unless you want to send it back to PC world for 6 weeks for it to come back in the same state it went in, spend the extra £200 and and a Dell for the same spec. the advent 5411 is an excellent laptop, though when i bought it the drawback was they didnt do spare parts for it, so i would suggest when buying a laptop find how new it is first, as my charger got broken it was hard to replace
also lacks a graphics card so doesnt run newer games you might like to play

Easy to use and know its features.. i personally have no problems with the Advent 5411..even if some said they got problems but that's a problem stuff that arises in mass production... i guess my luck was ok..lol.. its fast and the screen seems to suit me.. yeah the fan is on constant run.. its maybe the work that i am doing...lol... else if only they included some nice features like designs on the top lid or some lights here and there :P oh oh, and a good graphic card instead of an... Easy to connect to wifi, did it literally seconds.
For the price the laptop is excellent, plus the media keys are a nice touch too. Well recommend Advent 5411 laptop.

This laptop is perfect for those on a lower budget without compromising on quality and performance. My sister recently bought a Compaq pc for the same price but with 3gb RAM and is a lot slower (eg it takes another 6 seconds to load up itunes). Comparing this Advent laptop to hers, it fails slightly on screen clarity and sound, however I have now connected it to an excellent external speaker system with Dolby 5.1 and is amazing. A excellent laptop great value 4 gb memory and a 320 HDD
Intel core 2 duo mobile processor GREAT price at £430

Great spec, good enough processor, plenty of storage and loads of RAM.
Perfect for a Uni student like me who runs the occasional game and Office programs all at once along with the usuals like iTunes etc. I bought this about a month ago and its been perfect for me.
I reccommend Advent 5411 for a laptop.

I have searched the Net for a battery to the Advent 5411 but have found none. When your battery goes with no replacement it's curtains. Therefore doo not recommend the Advent 5411 even if the spec does look good. (read more)

Great value, excellent spec... latest processor, 4Gb Ram 320GB HD, webcam, not loaded with rubbish and lasts depending on what configuration you use. Weighs 2.7kg, so is pretty light compared to a lot of other manufactuers. Wi-fi, had no problems connecting to wireless routers or hot spots.
Worth buying, price is excellent for the spec when you go up against other manufacturers who have a far lower spec for the same price.
