Just returned from another lovely evening at vittorios. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere as always. The menu is not cheap but in my opinion you get what you pay for and I've never had better Italian food elsewhere, including in Italy where I've holidayed many times. Really surprised to read any negative reviews as I've visited Vittorios several times a year for the past 19 years and had cosy meals for 2, taken new babies with us, had family parties with 20 + people and taken various friends and work colleagues, but have never heard any negative comments with all commenting on how great this restaurant is. Presumably these reports are written by the sort of people who like to complain about everything or perhaps have a palate better suited to Mc Donalds!

Spent New Years Eve at Vittorio's and just wanted to say what a fantastic time was had by everyone on our table. Food was delicious and service was very efficient. Great atmospherea created by the live music. So nice to still see a family run business with all the family working in a society which is innudated with chains! A very personal restaurant, good value for money, can't wait to return!

visited this long established restaurant on many many occasions, and each time have been met with a warm welcome and served authentic Italian Food. The menu and wine list are suitably priced to suit all budgets coupled with a relaxing pleasant d cor with many pictures scattered around of Monte Cassino (the owners home town) . Excellent service
Will be back ....

We decided to do something different this year with family and go to Vittorios. We wish we hadn't bothered. The set menu left a lot to be desired, very bland and extremely over priced as were the drinks! We were promised music throughout the evening, warmth and a friendly atmosphere. The music started at 10pm after many complaints. The temperature was icy cold, much like the staff's approach. There is a better choice of food and friendlier staff in Wetherspoons. Will not be visiting ever again.

Do not go for a meal there on New Years Eve! Despite paying weeks in advance my main meal of choice had sold out(?) Also the desserts had begun to run out also, so the meal I had looked forward to since seeing the menu never arrived. It was a set menu and they ran out - just to be clear here. When I complained it was suggested that it was because we ordered late (it was 9.30 on New Years Eve!). We left shortly before 12:00 and it ruined our night as we felt overlooked and largely ignored in favour of regulars. If you want a good experience it seems you have to be 50+ and eat there regularly, which would mean you are probably an idiot.

We always receive a warm welcome, especially when Anna, the owner is there. We are always happy with the food, especially pleased when the temporary chef was cooking, last year. We enjoy the pleasant, easy-going atmosphere, relaxed, yet worth dressing up for. In our opinion, the best in Newport.

waited a long time for my table at Vittorio's that was booked for 8.30pm eventually sat down at 10.00pm. I feel the meal was only shy of average and in my opinion the cost was way beyond the value the mediocre meal. We did however have a very pleasant waitress. if I'm looking for an Italian meal I would go somewhere else in future.

After several return visits, we can highly recommend this traditional Italian restaurant. £45 ish for two tasty and generous courses with wine. Particularly like the freshly made seafood pasta and the bruschetta. Desserts are to die for, if you have any room left! Like the relaxed bar area for pre dinner drinks and the friendly unhurried service. You also get a warm welcome and easy parking. Vittorio's, Stow Hill, Newport is busy at weekends, so may need to book.

Vittorio's, Stow Hill, has a lovely atmosphere - friendly welcoming staff and quality surroundings in a traditional Italian style. Lovely food - but be hungry as there's plenty of it! Have eaten at Vittorio's many times - including holding a large Christmas party as well as many smaller occasions and cosy twosomes! We have always been warmly welcomed, never hurried and most importantly very well fed. Hardly a bad point - but gets very busy on a Friday and Saturday.

We visited Vittorio's for a 60th birthday. We were impressed with the interior which is spacious and well done and looking forward to our meal. After ordering we waited approx an hour to be seated at the table.
I felt that the food when it arrived was very disappointing. I thought most of the ingredients tasted as if they were bought in ready prepared. The waiting staff although pleasant didn't seem to know about the menu. Most people's plates in our party were left half empty by the end of the meal. Its a shame because Italian food has the reputation of being the best in the world and this restaurant, in my opinion, makes no attempt at genuine Italian cuisine.
At £6 for what is in affect a prawn cocktail starter and around £15 for a bowl of pasta I would expect more than what I received.

I disagree with this review because...I visit this restaurant every few months. It's a favourite for special occasions. Always found the food excellent and reasonably priced. There are other Italian restaurants in Newport, some more expensive and some that serve your food more quickly, but for a calm, enjoyable, stylish and above all tasty night out you can't beat Vittorio's.

I disagree with this review because...we eat at Vittori's often and have always found it a lovely experience. There are some cheaper Italian restaurants, but the portions are usually a lot smaller. I felt very surprised at the suggestion of poor quality ingredients. We pay around £45 for two excellent courses with wine - we feel this is very good value for a lovely evening. I like the extras - linen table clothes and napkins, generous bread basket, coffee top ups and unhurried friendly service.
