Good Points: Bargain price, comfortable from outset.

Bad Points: Relatively noisy at speed when compared to my old full-face helmet.

General comments: I wasn't expecting too much quality-wise from the Viper RS-101 Blue helmet but I've been pleasantly surprised, particularly at the price I paid. Apparently this helmet's pricier brother (the RSV 121 Bluetooth) is a bigger seller due to the fact that it's Bluetooth function allows for intercom between rider and passenger and it has twin speakers for stereo listening. The 101 here is single speaker but still allows phone calls to be dealt with and music to be listened to, albeit in mono. I like to have one ear peeled for general road noises e.g. sirens, screeching brakes etc. so I'm happy to only have one speaker. This helmet is light but doesn't feel flimsy, the lining is removable for washing and the ventilation system is OK. The front can be flipped up easily even when wearing gloves and it latches closed with a good click despite plastic catches being fitted. I paid £80 inc. delivery and feel I've got a good deal. When I can afford a better helmet then I'll replace this one - probably with an HJC - but I'm happy so far with the Viper.
