“No longer trading???”

If you go to their website and choose an item or if a search engine turns up something you are looking for that is from them, there is always a button on the page marked "Buy on Amazon". But when you click on the link to Amazon, the item is not there. They don't answer queries on their contact form, and I strongly suspect that this company is no longer trading and hasn't taken their web pages down.

“I ordered a Vango Sapera carpet on the 19th July and...”

I ordered a Vango Sapera carpet on the 19th July and it turned up a few days later.When we get it out of its original bag whilst setting up for camping,it turns out to not only be the wrong carpet(spectrum),it was also damaged.So i phoned up to be told"no problem.I'll get a courier to drop off the correct one and pick up the old.'Then an hour later another call."We don't have any in stock so what i'll do is still collect and refund you once its arrived.'They collected 2 weeks ago and have ignored my emails,calls and so i found them on Facebook.They didn't like me posting in public and told me to private message.They said 'we can't comment on anything at the moment 'and then had the cheek to block me..! Turns out they've gone bankrupt!They knew they were too and were quite happy to rip me off and send out any old stock to just get my money,knowing that there was never going to be a refund.

“Terrible Customer Service!”

On 22 August 2014 I ordered a Kampa tent with footprint, carpet and vestibule, all of which were meant to be in stock. I received the tent, footprint and carpet in two deliveries within 2 weeks (not next day) and was then sent an email saying the order had been complete despite the vestibule not being supplied. I've tried calling multiple times on different days over the past two weeks but the phone just rings out and cuts off. I've tried emailing them on both the sales and customer service email addresses, but have never had a response. Don't buy from this supplier - their customer service is woeful! If I don't get a resoltution from them soon I'll be taking them to the small claims court.

“Items not really in stock”

They show items as in stock with next day delivery when they probably aren't. I received some of my items the following day, with a little note saying the rest would follow. No good for me as I chose them because I was going away, and I needed all the items quickly. Customer services don't respond to emails. I've sent two emails and hadn't had a response to either of them. The worst online seller I've used in a long time. I'll never use this company again.

Placed an order with these people. They took payment immediately and everything was supposed to be in stock. 1 month later and still haven't received anything. All emails requesting order updates, etc. have been ignored by their sales/customer service team. Avoid at all costs.

“Brill aftersales service”

Had purchased a family KAMPA tent in July.which on use had a faulty zip .They agreed we could keep the tent until the end of August as we had a week planned away and could send the tent back for repair (this would take up to 3 weeks).We then used the tent for aweek and it had more faults.On the return I got in touch with OUTDOOR MEGA STORE and explained and also sent photos of the probs.. The tent was picked up within 2 weeks .They keep in touch by email and told me of the progress.I was offered another tent (my model no longer in stock) or a full refund.I have taken the full refund as they did not have any tents within my budget.IM gutted I could not buy from them. I have an excellent service with them from the purchasing of the tent to the return.

“Do not process orders”

I ordered 2 drive away awning kits from them on Thursday lunch time for next day delivery, for which they charged me additional postage. No delivery arrived Friday, I chased on Saturday only to be told that not only had they not despatched the goods on Thursday for a Friday delivery, but they had also not processed the order Friday for a Monday delivery. I only placed the order with them as I had been sold faulty goods by another dealer. I would strongly recommend that you do not purchase anything from them, unless you have money to throw away. Lets see how long they take to refund my money to me.

“Beware if requiring a quick delivery”

I ordered several items 10 days in advance of a camping trip - plenty of time for a delivery you would think. But no - despite all items showing on the website as 'in stock', the next day I received an email saying that some of the items were out of stock and that they would deliver my order as soon as they could. EIGHT days later the order had still not been dispatched, so I had no choice but to cancel it and order and pay a next day delivery charge from a more reliable company. I have given them one star because at least the Customer Service person was polite and apologetic.

“Faulty goods, dreadful after sales service. ”

Ordered tent for grandson's birthday present. Came in two days but as soon as he unwrapped it we could see there was a problem with broken cording in one of the poles. Rang them, explained this was a birthday present and grandson had a sleep over and first camping trip with friends planned for next few days so tent needed. So I was promised a replacement cord for us to do a codge repair with the promise it would be sent same day by 1st class post. A week later, nothing had come. Rang again on the Thursday and explained this was now urgent as it was needed for the weekend and nearest camping supply store to get replacement cord is miles away. Amazing response that this was impossible, "what you don't realise is that I have to go out in my lunch break to post things as we use a courier, not Royal Mail". Quite frankly, I really don't care about their arrangements for meeting customers' expectations. I just want what I've ordered, in a fit state for use. So this time promise was made that cord would be sent by courier, next day delivery but once again, nothing came. It's now Saturday. Grandson's birthday was ten days ago and the tent has never been erected. We've borrowed one so his camp out can go ahead but he's disappointed and we've ended up feeling guilty that our gift was a let down. In hindsight I should have returned the whole thing as faulty the second we opened it and who knows, I may have had a replacement by now. Won't buy here again.

Follow up: The original order was delivered direct to my daughter's address - for grandson's birthday and where we were staying. I asked for the replacement cord to be sent there too - they even checked the postcode with me while I was on the line. Two weeks later we get home to find the cord had been sent to the address on my payment card - our home address. What lack of attention to detail and rotten service

“Great customer service”

I ordered a Vango Woburn 400 tent which unfortunately was faulty (faulty zips). Outdoor Megastore sent me a replacement with no quibbles, which arrived the day after I had spoken to them! However, the second tent also had faults (fraying guy ropes, faulty stitching in bedroom compartment) -they also agreed to replace that one. Will this be third time lucky?? I also contacted Vango about the problem and they were, to say the least, less than helpful - they admitted that they had had problems with inspection and quality control, but despite me having received 2 faulty tents they refused to do anything about it. I do a lot of camping, but will not buy Vango again, I think that their standards have definitely slipped, and their customer service is appalling. The service given by Outdoor Megastore has been absolutely fantastic and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

“Received 2 faulty awnings”

Ordered 1st Sunncamp Mira 390 awning (with annexe)in May 2012 and found that it had holes in the top and dye had run through. Outdoor Megastore agreed to collect & replace it. Replacement awning is also faulty in that the annexe that cannot be attached because the zips are on wrong. Outdoor Megastore refusing refund because I'm out of the 28 day time limit for refunds. I could not test the replacement awning within the 28 days because we were not going on holiday for a few weeks and were unable to fully test the awning. We had already booked a weekend away to test the original awning and were not able to book another weekend so soon. They collected 2nd faulty awning and say they will return to sunncamp for a repair. They have had the awning for 2 weeks now and I havent even received a phonecall or email to say whats happening. Ive rang them today and they say the awning is still in the box and hasnt even been opened. They will try to send it away to sunncamp today. Appalling service. Original awning bought and paid for in May 2012 and we are now in September and I still havent got a useable awning. Will definitely not be buying from them again. Sending out 1 faulty item is bad enough but to replace it with another faulty item is very poor. And to collect the 2nd faulty awning and leave it in a box for almost 2 weeks without anyone even opening it is terrible service.

Having spent 6 weeks trying and failing to purchase a Outwell Hartford XL tent from Go Outdoors I gave up and tried outdoor megastore. The lady I spoke to there was very helpful and promised they could arrange delivery for the next day. I was a bit skeptical but the tent arrived as promised the next day and meant we could go on our camping trip as planned

I have done 2 orders in this shop, from the first order I still waiting for a product of many that I had ordered which I paid and not received, and the second order while have charged my card they did not send their products because as they say "I have received a response from the bank and they have advised that the information you have provided, for the address details of the card that you have used for payment is incorrect. In view of this we will not be dispatching this order" I wonder why they charge my card while had problems with the delivery address....????

Called customer service for help and found the staff only too happy to talk me through their broad range of products. “Olang Snowboots Boots from Outdoor Megastore”

I was looking for some snowboots for this winter and came across this website www.outdoormegastore.co.uk. This company has a wide selection of snowboots but I really liked some Olang Snowboots they had called Olang Acacia. I ordered from them on the phone but told them I needed them before the weekend. They seemed really nice and friendly on the phone and nothing seemed too much trouble. Anyway, as they promised the snowboots arrived the following morning!! I was absolutely delighted! The snowboots themselves are absolutely fantastic - really good quality and very, very warm and comfy. Great company - great product - would highly recommend!! Mary.

I was offered an alternative or the option to wait two days for the item to come into stock. I chose the latter and my delivery, including the out of stock item, arrived bang on time. I visited the site on a recommendation from the chief of a Scouting group, looking for equipment as a gift my newphew in the UK. My knowledge of camping equipment can be written on the back of a postage stamp so I needed help. “No job too small”

I went to buy a pair of walking boots for my mum as a birthday present, I wasn't sure what I wanted and the staff were only happy to help. In total I must have looked at about 14 pairs of walking boots in every style, colour and size! The member of staff (Daniel) was only happy to help. He brought out new ranges and ones he recommended to try and satisfy me! In the end I bought a nice pair of boots at a very reasonable price, Daniel knew the shop and loads of facts about boots. I went back into the shop about 4 months later and he recognised me asking how my mum liked her boots, did they fit etc... talk about customer service!!! Was thoroughly pleased with the product, customer service, price and will definately be returning

“After reading....”

So many negative reviews, I was slightly concerned about using this site. HOWEVER I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a slight issue with my wife's snow boots as she requires special inner soles. I called up and spoke to a very helpful member of staff. She was able to advise us on the best boots to buy. Unfortunately, one of the sleeping bags was the wrong colour, however after speaking to the staff again, the sleeping bag was collected and swapped in time for our holiday. We are definitely not the easiest customers to please, however this site was quite excellent.
