Good Points: Plays different formats
Bad Points: Unreliable, poor navigations, slow startup, **They're lying about the battery life**
General comments: I thought the SP 250 would be a really nice, convenient combination of audio components (CD player, MP3 player, and FM radio) but its song navigation doesn't seem as user-friendly as it could be, the batteries last about 25% of what's promised, and, most importantly, it's incredibly unreliable. Due to malfunctions and poor workmanship, the *replacement* for my original SP250 is now down for the count. Aside from the fact that it's stopped working (again) and I'm sending it back to them on my dime (again) and I've had to try to deal with their customer service (again), I've only actually had a working player for about 2 months in the 8 that I've owned it. After 2 consecutive lemons, I have to conclude that the players are junk. Additionally, the service is neither personal nor timely. It's the kind of experience that will keep me away from all Rio products, even though some must be of acceptable quality. My advice: try a different brand. I wish I would've....

This Diamond Rio Volt SP250 portable MP3 player is the best. I have tried several others, Sony for one, and this unit beats them hands down. I use it in my car when we travel and it replaces the radio for entertainment. I put a disc in and we are good for the trip no matter how long, it just keeps plodding along. Rio makes a good product and I have just bought another so I can use one in the home and one in the car.

I love this Diamond Rio Volt SP250 portable MP3 player. I charge it when I sleep & listen to it all day. I can't think of anything that would improve it. I can tailor many of it's features to my personal settings, but the factory presets aren't too bad anyway. If u can afford it & u have a CD writer, don't even look at another unit. This is the one. This rocks.
