I thought the SP 250 would be a really nice, convenient combination of audio components (CD player, MP3 player, and FM radio) but its song navigation doesn't seem as user-friendly as it could be, the batteries last about 25% of what's promised, and, most importantly, it's incredibly unreliable. Due to malfunctions and poor workmanship, the *replacement* for my original SP250 is now down for the count. This Diamond Rio Volt SP250 portable MP3 player is the best. I have tried several others, Sony for one, and this unit beats them hands down. I use it in my car when we travel and it replaces the radio for entertainment. I put a disc in and we are good for the trip no matter how long, it just keeps plodding along. Rio makes a good product and I have just bought another so I can use one in the home and one in the car. (read more)

I love this Diamond Rio Volt SP250 portable MP3 player. I charge it when I sleep & listen to it all day. I can't think of anything that would improve it. I can tailor many of it's features to my personal settings, but the factory presets aren't too bad anyway. If u can afford it & u have a CD writer, don't even look at another unit. This is the one.
