“Happy Bunny”

Written on: 04/03/2016 by AlonzoLittle353 (1 review written)

I got a quote from Harvey's after a recommendation from my son. The quote was a bit expensive but the company agreed to negotiate further once they had seen what plumbing was actually required. This resulted in a very reasonable final quote and I agreed to go ahead. The installation team - were friendly, helpful and very efficient in both agreeing the best location for the softener unit and doing all the necessary pipe-work to plumb-in the softener and fully test the kit etc. This is a very… Read Full Review

“Harvey water softener (not). Unreliable produces hard...”

Written on: 23/02/2016 by Declanj295 (1 review written)

Our quite expensive Harvey water softener still provides hard water with all the bad effects in our house and ruin of fine glassware - we no longer dare put new glasses in the dish washer. We buy prime costly products for our home but this water softener is the blight of our house. Yes it is not new, but we paid a good price for it and have paid for service and expect it to just work. The original sales person said Harvey took a personal pride in his product, our experience differs. We… Read Full Review

Hello,
Not sure about the glass ware, the dishwasher , hard water, and the softener.
Dishwashers have their own water softener and that is why they require salt..so if you are using the dishwasher according to the manufacturer's recommendations you should not notice any difference whether the Harvey's softener is working or not...My understanding is that with a whole house softener you do not need to put salt in the dishwasher!

“Great product and service”

Written on: 10/02/2016 by JohnKitching (1 review written)

I have two Harvey's softeners and rate them very highly. They're twin cylinder so always softening the water rather than other types that need time to regenerate when any water passing through is un-softened. They're meter based so only regenerate when necessary rather than at a fixed time which either wastes salt by softening too often or allowing unsoftened water through by regenerating not frequently enough. I had call to get one of their engineers out to a problem with one of the softeners… Read Full Review

“Excellent bit of kit that does what is promised.”

Written on: 07/02/2016 by StuTyrrell (1 review written)

After years of suffering hard water we took the plunge and installed a Harvey system in our new house before the limescale had a chance to do any damage. The installation was quick and easy and carried out by a professional plumber. He even added a hard water outside tap while he was installing the softener. The unit has been in place for six months now and you would barely know it's there, except for the fact that we have lovely soft water 24/7. We certainly use far less detergent and… Read Full Review

“Electric showers”

Written on: 02/02/2016 by 395Vaughn (1 review written)

We've had our water softener for a few years now and have been very pleased with it. No more struggling with limescale. I suffer with skin problems and I have to say it hasn't made much difference to that but that's probably just me! There is however something to aware of....we have electric showers fitted and started to have problems with water going cold/hot, poor flow, etc. We spent hundreds of pounds on new showers, assuming that was where the problem lay. After getting an engineer out from… Read Full Review

“Six star Harvey water softener”

Written on: 28/01/2016 by Trinityx302 (1 review written)

If there were six stars available! I'd give six stars to this magic machine I know nothing technical about how it works but it works. My little ones all had really bad Eczema and we had a relentless regime of Oilatum, Unguentum, E45 etc; the soft water solved the problem. We now use nothing. The pipes, kettle, washing machine, shower and dw were all scaled up and it drove me bonkers. The water softener solved that problem. The plumber told us that it cleared the rads and pipes and that solved… Read Full Review

“Simple the Best”

Written on: 25/01/2016 by Clarkgl338 (1 review written)

Having moved into an old bungalow with very bad hard water we had a Harvey's water softener installed within a week of moving in. Now 3 months later with have no limescale anywhere, the heating has become more efficient over the winter to the point we have put the heating down to 17 and it always remains warm. Shampoo, soaps etc all last longer and really lather well. I no longer need salt in the dishwasher and the washing machine looks and sounds like new. Expense of running it is minimal… Read Full Review

“Wish I could be certain...”

Written on: 24/01/2016 by Ceebie (1 review written)

Very good on installing in best position. Water feels more 'slippery' when washing and showering; can't say am using less soap ...difficult to measure... but certainly a lack of sc + um and less cleaning of sinks/receptacles needed. Haven't really detected and difference in taste in a variety of drinks consumed. Am concerned about knowing when to add salt but may find that easy when done for first time. Can't recommend whilst still so uncertain. Perhaps too early for review ... four weeks or… Read Full Review

“No regrets - enjoying the luxury of soft water every day”

Written on: 24/01/2016 by 54Heath (1 review written)

After 10 years at this address and on our 5th electric shower, and with having to replace ballcocks every few years too, we twigged that it was time to get a water softener. Didn't shop around much - just reckoned Harvey's was the best. Sales and installation were both quite painless. I didn't think it would be possible to fit in our kitchen but I needn't have worried - fitter was well used to any and every problem and had it all fitted before lunch. Cleaning sinks, basins, baths, etc really is… Read Full Review

“Quiet, effective, discreet”

Written on: 21/01/2016 by ClarenceKinney1987 (1 review written)

We have had a water softener for a number of years but we had no idea what we were missing by it not being a Harvey's water softener. The change since we had it installed has been amazing. It is so quiet you wouldn't know it was there, the water is lovely and makes your skin and hair improve. It has started to remove built up scale around taps with just a wipe of a cloth and there is minimal need for cleaning products. As you can try before you fully commit you can see the evidence for… Read Full Review

“Water Softner ??”

My husband was so against us having a water Softner, try for three month free I said, nothing to loose The Harvey rep gave no hard sell just honest information no pressure to buy no catches if you didn't like it after the three months. Engineer who came to fit the Softner very professional and helpful, even happy to answer all my silly questions. Three months on, guess who's the biggest fan off the water Softner Our water is hotter so temperature has been turned down, great saving money. Less… Read Full Review

“Cleaning appliances is so much easier”

Written on: 20/01/2016 by ArthurPurcell (1 review written)

Skin and hair seem less dry, toilet less bunged up with lime scale, basins, showers snd bath easier to clean. Similarly in the kitchen the stainless steel sink and black granite work top around the sink are lime scale free and shiny and the taps are easier to buff and shine. We haven't put salt in the dishwasher nor water softener tablets in the washing machine since the unit was installed… Read Full Review

“First nine weeks ”

Written on: 20/01/2016 by ykBoyle78 (1 review written)

The pre-purchase stage was very thorough and the explanations clear and concise. The cold water was so much softer within the first three or four days we really did use less soap and washing up liquid and our hands were much softer too!! The first shower with the softener was amazing as the soap went further and the warmth of the water made everything much softer and a better showering experience altogether. We will be buying the softener at the end of the trial three months scheme… Read Full Review
