“Got my Tom Tom Gps for Christmas, set out on New Years...”

Got my Tom Tom Gps for Christmas, set out on New Years Day for an adventure into next State. Luckily I did Google my destination first and printed out map. 10 miles from my house (Totally familiar with) it wants us to take a left "INTO A FIELD", we of course don't turn left and it tells us to turn around. I tap on out side of GPS a few times and we continue. The length of times were wrong as well. Length of time to get there was 1 hour 30 minutes. GPS said 2 hour 19 minutes. On our... (read more)

“Very easy to use. Will always (nearly) get you to...”

Very easy to use. Will always (nearly) get you to destination but the routes are plain wrong. Just yesterday I set off on a panned journey of 61 miles. At the first junction it said turn right, I thought no its left. After less than a mile it re calculated the route to 39 miles and 10 minutes less! It takes you down single track roads and now I can see why everyone sits in the wrong lane on dual carriageways, Tom Tom tells me to. It has it's uses but take a map and plan your route ahead. “Can lost without help of this unit, drive round one...”

Can lost without help of this unit, drive round one building or footpath. Some roads in u.k. are pre ww2 or where in plans. Don't understand why people are so into tomtom, there is plenty of better satnavs i regret that purchase. (read more)

“Disappointing. Map updates do not correct certain road...”

Disappointing. Map updates do not correct certain road layouts, and mapshare doesn't give the option that I need to amend them. Also, my Tomtom will no longer update on my PC, despite reinstalling the software, resetting the unit etc. Voice instructions are clear, but often do not give enough warning. (read more)
