First one died after 13 months and no more than an hours use in total in that time, threequaters of way thru cleaning my decking i stopped for a cup of tea and the machine refused to start , asked an engineer to look at it result skip it.No2 same problem used very lightly after 15 months using it to clean my daughters fence it stopped never to start again. The very annoying thing is both these machines still looked in new condition they just... Seems a common fault, only used a dozen times to clean a small patio, oil leaking from the casing, loss of pressure and then it burns itself out! Rubbish, would have expected a lot more from a reputed German brand! (read more)

My second Karcher 2.94 and just as unreliable as the first one which worked a coupl of times then began to overheat if used more than a couple of times. The replacement has been used twice and now broken down with burning smell from motor. Beware-if you keep your karcher jet washer in the shed they'll say that frost invalidates the warranty. Excellent performance as it really does do what it says will do. Because itnisnsoneffective a cleaner it is used infrequently (max 4 times a year) to clean the patio so my machine is relatively new in terms of use. On the second outing the wheel broke off. And now I am experiencing a leakage of oil/grease lubricant which is marking the patio. There is no visible ( or internet user help) means of fixing this so looks like, still in its infancy, it is fit only for the bin. Might be cheaper... (read more)

I bought this power washers because of the name, and at first it was great. I noticed after a few uses that the pressure had dropped quite a bit and upon investigation I could see water leaking from inside the unit. I looked inside and could see water coming out of the actual pump casing!!! Then it is made of plastic but still I never expected this for the money. The pump is very powerful but the plastic casing just wasn't up to scratch. I got my money back and bought a bosch aquatak 1250... (read more)

Used three times on paths and drive ways. Just like other reviews, smelt burnt plastic. Turned of and pulled apart and the motor fan had melted off the shaft and chewed into the cowling. Going to try a fix that may work. Maybe ok for people who want to run for a few minutes at a time. Definetly no good for domestic around the house type cleaning. (read more)

I bought one of these DIY power washers, it was great at the start, then after a few uses it lost pressure. I noticed water spraying out from the inside, so I took the cover off and used it without the cover, there was water spraying everywhere. I tried to seal the plastic pump body with an industrial sealant/adhesive, but the water kept finding new places to spray out from. I gave up in the end. The pump is fairly powerful but the cheap plastic body can't cope with the pressure. My brother... (read more)

Purchased a K5.55, brilliant, for approximately 6 hours use (Max). Now it has lost pressue badly, won't rotate the T-Racer or Dirt Blaster. Karcher say "check for air lock" (standard 'kiss off' response). Expensive machine purchased with longevity in mind, lasted shorter time than the £24.99 machine purchased from local market (ironically 10% of the purchase price of the K5.55)

Little use on all three units I have purchased I would say no more than 5hrs each. Biggest job was to clear the moss from my paved driveway, a typical domestic task I would say and probobaly two hours intermittant use although may have been continously for ten minutes before pausing to sweep up.

I bought a Karcher (supposed to be the best!) The machine is so light it continually falls over. Small unmanageable hose (stiff as steel) small electrical lead.
Inferior small plastic hose to place into your patio cleaning solution.
Very noisy and not very powerful.
Cheap looking plastic case.
Used it once and dumped it.
Its rubbish.
Now have a much more powerful and reliable washer and thankfully its NOT a Karcher.

Absolute rubbish, purchased 3 years ago & after very little light use started leaking oil, then started tripping power as soon as switched on.Told by Karcher agent it was totally uneconomic to repair. Price of parts on internet is astronomic - 1L of oil £66 ! Was also told that pumps in these domestic machines overheat & fail if used continuously on full pressure for 5-6 minutes. Seems they are only suitable for short bursts of power - not much use in that.Would not buy a Karcher pressure... (read more)

When the hose fitting poped of due to the water pressure build up when starting/stopping the machine during first use, I should have taken that as a bad omen.

It was used as soon as it was received and I found it easy to use and very efficient in cleaning my patio. The high pressure pipe took a little time to lose its coils having been like that when dispatched, and I had to be careful it did not kink.Apart from that it was very satisfactory and I would recommend it.
