“Will never go there!”

Cannot believe how rude the owner is. Stopped in the car park (which was empty on a Friday evening to run across to pick up a take away from the Chinese across the road) came back to the owner shouting abuse - f***ing this and f***ing that. I tried to say, why are you shouting and swearing, sorry if this is something that annoys, you need only say and it won't happen again, but couldn't get a word in above his abuse. I wasn't planning on writing a review and no I am not a member of the Malik's team but I have to say ,reading your reviews I thought we were talking about a different restaurant and feel the loyalty and need to come to their defence I , also am a discerning diner -although not in to pretentious restaurants as some of the other reviewers might be.., I like good food at reasonable prices served by friendly waiters on a timely basis. 2nd time in two weeks! The food was good the first time but the service was slow. The 2nd Time we commented on the 1.5hr wait for the main course! and was told to leave the premises!!! Mr Malik has to be the rudest person I have ever met.
Never never will we return to any of the Malik group and will tell everyone our terrible experience!
He does not deserve the business!

I went to Maliks the weekend just gone for dinner with my son and daughter-in-law to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I can only say I wish I had never stepped foot in that place! We were ignored at the door on a cold January night for nearly 10 minutes and then had to wait another 20 minutes for our table, despite the fact we had booked for 8pm we sat down at nearly 8:30. I have been to this restaurant Several times and on the past two occasions, the service has been absolutely despicable. It took half an hour for our drinks to arrive and when we asked politely, we were told to wait longer. We were put on a table that didn't even have proper chairs, they forgot the rice to go with our curry and the waiter laughed and walked off when he spilt our drink without replacing it. Avoid like the plague, this place is awful. The staff are rude the food is very average at best. Drinks arrived after the main courses and naan breads served with the deserts! Upon complaining we were met with a very rude and intimating manager who told us he didn't need our type in the restaurant and threw us out!

The website advertises that they open the buffet from 12pm, when we arrived yet by 12:45 most of the food wasn't out and we had to go. We got the bill and went to the bar to pay, when I suggested that they may want to change their website slightly to show the times. We were told very rudely that its normal in the restaurant business for buffets to start 30 minutes late. The staff were very rude to my girlfriend and I. Appalling and disrespectful service.
Waited for an hour for the food on Monday night, enquired as to when the food would be coming, was told that they had forgotten about the order, no apology, and that they would cook it for us in 2 minutes. Something worrying when a restaurant says that they can cook and deliver your main meal in 2 minutes.

My partner booked a table 5 days before our dinner date but we were subjected to having to wait for around 15 minutes whilst 3 staff checked this detail in the reservations book. Takeaways also had priority over our booking. When we eventually seated we were left far too long for ordering each of our courses and when I asked for a wine-list - the waiter looked horrified. After reading the reviews posted, I feel comforted that the poor service was not exclsive to us. The food was good, what would be expected. However it was completely ruined by the service. The manager was extremely rude and pointed out that the service charge was complusary. I would not recommend. (read more)

Fantastic food, but honestly the service was absolutely terrible. It was a busy Saturday night, it's true, but we were stuck on a table far too small for 6, we were then completely ignored and had to wait ages for our order to be taken. After our meal they made no attempt to clarify the fairly high and completely unreadable bill, which included 18.00 for poppadums for 6 people (we'd have passed out if we hadn't had them), and after paying we were pretty much shoved out.

We were looking forward to our birthday dinner and chose Maliks in Cookham High Street, Bucks becasue of all the awards they have. What a huge disappointment. We eat out a lot, all over the world. Dinner at Maliks was one of the worst dinners I have ever had on every level. We returned to Maliks in Cookham for a second time to treat some of our friends as a thank you. The service we received was very poor. We waited 45 mins for both starter and main and then another 5 after the mains arrived for the rice. The food was good but not amazing but the worst thing was that they miss-added up the bill by over charging us £78. (read more)

We decided to dine at Malik's for Valentines after seeing all the awards it had won (restaurant of the year 2005, 2006 & 2008) and although it was a set menu of £40.00 per head, I was confident it would be worth the money. We went to Malik's with quite high expectations as we'd seen it in the top 10 curry house list in the Times. Having recently visited another curry house on the list, we thought the standard would be similar. The food was good (but I wouldn't say excellent in my opinion) but I felt the service we experienced was really poor.
