Good Points: Well furnished. Clean. Good location for seeing the sights around Cantabria

Bad Points: None - Cantrabria gets more rain than most of Spain, but it's also greener, so you need to bear that in mind.

General comments: This is a nicely furnished, clean cottage located in a small village in the Cayon valley in Cantabria. You can get to a beach in less than half an hours drive, and 40 minutes puts you in reach of lots of clean sheltered beachy coves. All the beaches we visited (Noja, Laredo, Playa La Franca, Llanes) were clean and well staffed by lifeguards, making them suitable for family days out. Other local attractions are the caves at Puente Viesgo, the Cabarceno nature park, Bilbao and the Guggenheim art gallery, several old towns for exploring etc. The cottage has a big back garden for kids to play in, and a huge supermarket about 10km away. Every day a bread van comes around the village delivering freshly baked bread - so it is really rural Spain, but close enough to other sights to see and places for days out. Overall it is an ideal destination for a family, and the cottage (ZS0020 on the Brittany Ferries website) makes a great base.
